Chapter Index

    Orphan

There is no time for FP players to rest and adjust. This season’s domestic finals are coming as scheduled.

Everyone in FP needs to go to the GND venue and play at the opponent’s home court.

The feud between GND and FP was forged as early as when Hechen and Tiger had a conflict over a live broadcast.

This matter was brought up and ignored again the day before the finals, and the IDs of Hechen and Dawn once again reached a peak in the e-sports sector.

For He Chen, a person who doesn’t like publicity and attention, this is no different from being sentenced to death.

He Chen had a dull face early in the morning, sitting in his seat in the car, using his hands that could play games, repair computers, and peel oranges.

The round oranges soon revealed their orange-yellow flesh, and the sweet aroma spread. Half of the car was filled with this smell, and the players in the car were also very energetic.

“When did you buy the orange? It smells quite sweet.” Coco liked the smell very much. It was much more comfortable than the car aromatherapy.

He Chen casually divided a few pieces for them to eat.

Fade exclaimed, “You can actually peel an orange like an orange without the juice spilling on your hands.”

“Well, that’s what I like to do.” He Chen secretly left the largest piece for Lin An, sipped a small piece in his mouth, took Lin An’s tissue and wiped his hands, his nose was filled with the sweet taste of orange.

He never liked the sticky and greasy feeling when his hands were stained with juice, so he developed this skill through practice.

The atmosphere was not very relaxed. A few people made a fuss and then went about their own business. The one who was catching up on sleep passed out again and was unconscious, while the one who was diligent in catching up on his sleep was still busy cramming.

    Including Hechen.

He was wearing headphones, and the video of a game he played yesterday using the black-robed priest was still playing on his phone. He held his cheek with one hand and grabbed his hair unconsciously with his fingers.

Qiao Zhi poked Lao Tao with his elbow and whispered: “He is still slapping the black-robed priest.”

“Well, there is a set of matching items that I need to use.” Old Tao also followed his gaze and looked over.

Qiao Zhi sighed softly, “This little stubborn donkey is just fine. Lin An is not short of his milk. He will suffer a lot if he puts himself in such a difficult position.”

Lao Tao disagreed, “You can only make progress if you pursue pursuits. You are still the manager, how can you teach the players to rest on their laurels?”

“I also feel sorry for them…” The two of them had a disagreement, and they began to quarrel quietly again.

Everyone had long been accustomed to the way the two of them got along and didn’t pay much attention to it. Lin An, on the other hand, kept looking sideways at He Chen.

He Chen watched the video for a while, and his dizziness worsened. He raised his head to relieve himself, but felt that eyes were glued to him.

He turned his head and met Lin An’s slightly frowning eyebrows. The corners of his mouth moved, but he couldn’t hold back and smiled, which even dissipated a lot of his discomfort.

“Why are you motion sick?” Lin An noticed his discomfort and asked in his ear.

No wonder Lin An was worried, they had ridden in cars together so many times, and this was the first time he saw He Chen looking motionless and uncomfortable.

He Chen knew what he was doubting, “It wouldn’t happen under normal circumstances. If… it’s not normal, there would be such a reaction. I brought oranges in advance, so it won’t have much impact.”

Lin An was not easily fooled by him. He raised his eyes and glanced around. Seeing that no one was paying attention, he lowered his left hand, quietly took He Chen’s fingers, rubbed them, and then held them in his palm to prevent him from escaping.

“What is an abnormal situation? Since you have prepared oranges, it means you have expected it?”

Her fingers were wrapped in Lin An’s warm palm, and the warmth dispelled the chill that had climbed up her spine unknowingly due to dizziness.

He Chen knew that he could not escape Lin An’s attention, so he pursed his lips and said, “If you stay up late in the past few days, you will feel motion sickness when you ride in a car later… For e-sports players, this should not be considered a particularly abnormal situation.”

    Lin An: “…”

Although he knew that He Chen was sophistry, he couldn’t refute it for a while.

Not wanting to criticize He Chen before the start of the game, Lin An turned to ask Qiao Zhi: “I remember when I came out before, we all prepared a medicine box. Is there any motion sickness medicine in it?”

“Are you carsick?” Qiao Zhi was originally immersed in the bickering with Lao Tao when he suddenly heard Lin An’s question and was startled, “Don’t you never get carsick?”

He Chen raised his hand weakly beside him, “It’s me, but it’s not serious…”

Qiao Zhi automatically ignored his words. The patients said that they were not serious, and motion sickness medicine was considered a must-have for travel, so he did bring it.

Although FP’s group of people are fat and thin, each one is different, but cleverly they are a group of people with an iron wall. No matter how much they do, they don’t get sick. Their physical fitness is quite excessive.

Although he had never used the medical kit, Qiao Zhi still skillfully dug out the motion sickness medicine from it. After reading the date, he took one piece and handed it over, “Did you bring water? If not, we have it in the car.”

However, He Chen didn’t take it and shook his head at Qiao Zhi, “I don’t take medicine.”

“Why? We’re less than halfway through the journey. How uncomfortable will it be if you don’t take medicine?” Qiao Zhi asked deeply.

On one side was Qiao Zhi, who was asking for answers, and on the other side was Lin An, who was looking at him with eager eyes. He Chen was attacked from both sides and sighed softly.

“After taking motion sickness medicine… I tend to feel sleepy.” He explained, and then said, as if he was afraid of being misunderstood, “I haven’t been in a good state these past two days, and I don’t usually feel like this. And actually, I feel much better when I smell the peels of citrus and the like. It’s really nothing.”

He Chen was afraid that he would lose energy later and it would affect the game.

Qiao Zhi, however, felt that nothing was as important as the players and did not agree with his approach.

But He Chen himself didn’t want to, and they couldn’t open He Chen’s mouth and drink the medicine into him, so they could only give up for the time being.

Fortunately, the drive of less than two hours ended not too slowly.

Before their car entered the GND venue, they saw security clearing away several fans carrying banners.

The banners were not unfolded yet, but one side was exposed.Through the strokes in the corners, He Chen could see that his nickname was written on it, and there was also a maliciously edited poster of He Chen’s solo, which was scattered on the ground. It was stepped on several times by someone who didn’t know who it was, leaving two sets of footprints.

In addition to the anti-fans, fans on both sides are also at war with each other.

The finals haven’t started yet, and all signs seem to indicate that today may be a bad start.

Lin An’s face darkened when he saw the things outside. Just as he was about to unbuckle his seat belt and stand up, his arm was pulled by someone.

He Chen pulled the person down and shook his head at Lin An.

The game hadn’t even started yet, and FP attacked first, so it didn’t matter.

The feeling of nausea was even worse. He Chen took out his peaked cap from his bag and put it on, buckled it tightly, and pressed it down, covering his eyebrows tightly.

He Chen looked like he was back to the first day he came to FP, closed and silent.

Fade thought Hechen was annoyed by Heizi and was still chirping to comfort him.

Only Lin An’s eyes were always following He Chen.

He knew the whole story, so he understood that He Chen’s emotions at this time were not that simple.

The discomfort of motion sickness, being noticed, having to be naked and being stared at, coupled with the harassment from Heizi, and the almost non-stop training in the past few days… these things put together, nothing can be easily explained by the word “annoyance”.

As in the usual game process, everyone in FP first went to the lounge to adjust their status temporarily under the guidance of the staff.

The camera connected to the stadium in the lounge has been turned on, and on the screen, the excitement of the auditorium is clearly visible.

There is a clear distinction between fans of the two teams.

This is also expected. After all, the two teams are at odds with each other and do not have a friendly relationship with each other. FP does not expect the fans of the GND team to cheer for them.

    But…

Within a few seconds, everyone in the lounge realized something was wrong.

In the audience, FP fans screamed at the top of their lungs, but they were not shouting for cheers, but for refunds.

Venus rubbed her eyes, not sure if she saw it wrong, “What’s held over GND is…”

    Lin An sneered.

Qiao Zhi and Lin An carefully studied He Chen’s background investigation together, and immediately realized what was being held up by GND. They endured it again and again, but they couldn’t help but uttered a curse word.

    “These beasts, they…”

Qiao Zhi originally thought that the pornographic posters and black banners that had been cleared out at the door were the limit, but he didn’t expect that something even more disgusting was waiting for them in the audience.

Those people didn’t know how they were let in, holding up restored high-definition pictures, which showed He Chen in his teenage years, still wearing a black veil.

    Orphan.

Fade jumped up from the sofa with a “swish”, and looked at her coldly, but Venus quickly covered her mouth.

“…There is a camera.” GND must have understood that e-sports players cannot speak dirty words in public, and unscrupulously played on FP’s bottom line.

He Chen, who was at the center of the heated conversation in the audience, was the calmest one in the lounge at this time.

He only glanced at the screen, lowered his eyes, opened the peripheral bag, and checked his equipment.

It looks so light and calm that people can’t even say anything to comfort them.

Only Lin An, who was closest to him, could see He Chen’s fingers twitching slightly from time to time as he turned over his peripherals.

    How could it not matter?

He Chen is not afraid of others’ attacks, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t care.

He will prove everything with facts, except this sentence.

    Orphan.

He was reluctant, but had to do it.

Sometimes Lin An also feels that those bastards are very smart. They know how to find weakness in others and how to curse others to make them unacceptable.

Even for an opponent, letting such a fan in would be too much.

The staff carrying the camera also felt guilty and hesitated to speak.

He Chen was a little distracted and didn’t even notice Lin An standing in front of him.It wasn’t until there was a heavy weight on his shoulder that He Chen trembled as if frightened, then raised his head and twitched the corners of his mouth.

Lin An’s pressure on his shoulders was comforting, but also seemed to carry the pressure of this game.

He Chen quickly adjusted his mood. The peaked cap covered his dark pupils, and Lin An could only hear his voice.

    “…I can fight.”

“Yeah.” Lin An’s hand was harder, “I know,” he said, “I can’t hit him.”

Before he finished speaking, and before He Chen could realize what he meant, Lin An turned around.

Lin An looked at the camera expressionlessly, not caring that he was recording himself, or rather… he was going to warn the people behind him through this lens, word for word.

“If the auditorium is not clean, I will not fight.”
