TSIBAMS Chapter 6
by VolareChapter 6
Qi Guang wasn’t in a very high mood this week. He temporarily ceased his war with Lao Lin and didn’t miss a single class until Friday afternoon. Zhou Tian even thought he had finally seen the light and invited him to stay after school to help with the blackboard newspaper.
“You think I would do that?” Qi Guang said.
Qi Guang had already expressed his disdain for Zhou Tian being the arts and culture representative countless times. Historically, the arts and culture representative was always a girl. He didn’t know what was wrong with this guy, rushing to compete with girls for a class position. It was also because the class was overwhelmingly female. From the class monitor to the subject representatives, all were female classmates. It was not easy for a boy to campaign for a class position, and although it was the arts and culture representative, Lao Lin was happy to agree.
“Hey, why is it impossible? Anything is possible. You can manage not missing a class for a week, why can’t you help me design a blackboard newspaper? Besides, you came from the big city, your aesthetics are higher than ours,” Zhou Tian patiently persuaded.
Several female classmates nearby quickly chimed in, “That’s right, that’s right!”
Seeing that there were others on his side, Zhou Tian became even more enthusiastic, “So many classmates are willing to stay and help, can’t you have some collective honor?”
“I’m busy.” Qi Guang packed his bag and left the classroom.
A hundred meters away from the school gate, Qi Guang realized that he was being followed.
The other party was still some distance away from him. He couldn’t tell how many people there were from the corner of his eye. If there were three or less, he would lead them into an alley and quickly settle it. But if there were more than three, it would be a little troublesome.
There were still so many people on the main road, it was impossible for them to make a move now.
While Qi Guang was pondering which way to go, a bicycle stopped beside him. It was Zhou Tian’s bike, but the person riding it was Ye Xing.
“Get on!” Ye Xing said.
Qi Guang didn’t ask any questions and quickly sat on the back seat.
“Someone’s following you,” Ye Xing said, speeding up the bicycle.
“I know,” Qi Guang held the seat tight, “How many people?”
“Three, they were about ten meters behind you. The bicycle isn’t that fast, they’ll probably catch up soon,” Ye Xing said, pedaling hard while answering him.
Qi Guang breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank you. You can go first later, I’ll handle it alone.”
“I don’t think I can leave either, might as well stay and watch the fight,” Ye Xing smiled.
“Okay, then you stay far away, don’t get hurt accidentally,” Qi Guang joked.
“So awesome? One against three?”
If I were that awesome, why would I bother pedaling so hard?
“It’s not me bragging, but when I first beat someone down, you were still playing with playdough?” Qi Guang knew what kind of people were around here. They would only kick a few times during a gang fight, just a bunch of cowards who ganged up. There weren’t many who truly dared to fight one-on-one.
When Qi Guang was a kid, hanging around outside all day, he followed an older brother named Xu every day. Brother Xu was especially good at fighting. He was five years older than him and was the boss of this area.
Calling him a boss was just because a group of kids were swarming around calling him “Brother.”
Brother Xu found Qi Guang especially pleasing to the eye, always protected him, and taught him many tricks. At that time, Qi Guang’s dream was to become someone like Brother Xu, so no one would dare to bully him.
But thinking about it, it had been eight years since he last saw Brother Xu. He didn’t know if Brother Xu had “retired” now.
When Ye Xing rode to the riverbank, he started to struggle. The three hoodlums behind were closing in. Qi Guang simply jumped off the bike.
And just at this moment, one of the small hoodlums kicked the bicycle.
“Damn it!” Qi Guang reached out but failed to grab the bicycle.
Ye Xing, caught by surprise, tumbled into the grass by the riverbank with both the bike and himself.
“Damn your mother!”
Ye Xing was covered in mud. Without a word, he rushed to grab the small hoodlum’s collar and swung a punch right at him.
The other two hoodlums, seeing this, also rushed over.
Ye Xing didn’t have any fighting skills, but he was strong. The small hoodlum was small and was a bit stunned by his punch. Ye Xing threw him to the side of the road and went to meet the other two hoodlums who were charging at him.
Qi Guang pulled Ye Xing back and went forward to punch.
The small hoodlum who had been thrown aside got up and prepared to join the fight. Ye Xing kicked him back to the ground again, “Addicted to sneak attacks, are you? Grandpa is going to teach you a lesson!”
The small hoodlum shouted, “Who the hell are you?!”
“I’m your grandpa!” Ye Xing stood next to him, looking down at him.
“Are you Qi Guang? If you’re not, get lost!”
At this time, Qi Guang had already dealt with the other two in two or three moves.
Ye Xing glanced at Qi Guang and said to the small hoodlum, “He is, it’s your turn.”
Qi Guang walked over, “Hurry up, I need to go eat after the fight.”
“Heh,” the small hoodlum stood up, patted the dust off his body, “So you’re Qi Guang? So arrogant!”
“May I ask who you are?” Qi Guang tilted his head and looked at him.
“Saying that I’m trash in front of my girlfriend?! Who do you think you are?!” the small hoodlum shouted loudly, but the sound didn’t match his height and couldn’t intimidate the person in front of him.
Qi Guang looked at the other party with great interest, it seemed that he was the red-haired guy’s boyfriend from yesterday, truly didn’t “disappoint”.
“So it’s you. I’m warning you, don’t go harassing Shuai Xiaoyun again!”
The small hoodlum sneered, “Shuai Xiaoyun? Who does she think she is, blocking people after sending two text messages? Does she think everyone in the whole street is desperate to sleep with her?”
As soon as he finished speaking, a fist landed on the small hoodlum’s face, perfectly mirroring the spot where Ye Xing had just hit him.
The small hoodlum, infuriated, jumped up to retaliate but was grabbed by Qi Guang and thrown to the side.
He stumbled from the throw and quickly stabilized himself before charging at Qi Guang again.
But the difference in fighting ability was too great. The small hoodlum was at a disadvantage and had almost no chance to retaliate.
Ye Xing, seeing that there was no need to help, went to the grass to pick up the bicycle. He carefully checked it, and thankfully, it wasn’t damaged.
It was just a bit troublesome to clean the mud.
Ye Xing looked down at himself. He was also covered in mud.
At this time, the two hoodlums who had been knocked down by Qi Guang had stood up and joined the fight again.
Three against one, what a shame!
Ye Xing couldn’t watch any longer, but Qi Guang wasn’t being suppressed by the three people at all. In fact, he was even gaining the upper hand. He observed Qi Guang’s fighting moves and realized he was pretty skilled.
It should be over soon, Ye Xing thought, wanting to hurry home and take a shower.
Just then, he saw the small hoodlum pull out a knife from his bag.
Not good!
“Qi Guang, watch out behind you!” Ye Xing shouted as he jumped forward.
Qi Guang reacted quickly, but he couldn’t dodge the sneak attack. He dodged, felt something slice his arm, followed by a burst of pain. He didn’t have time to look, he grabbed the small hoodlum’s hand and twisted it back, causing the small hoodlum to drop the knife in pain.
There was a little bit of blood on the blade. Qi Guang picked up the knife and held it against the small hoodlum’s chest, “You bastard! Want to die?”
Seeing this, the small hoodlum immediately begged for mercy: “I was wrong, I was wrong! Brother Qi!”
What a spineless fellow.
Qi Guang’s eyes were full of fierceness. The small hoodlum was afraid that he would get stabbed, so he was frightened into a kneel on the ground, “Brother Qi, I was wrong! I won’t dare to do it again!”
“What were you planning to do with it?” Qi Guang pointed the knife at the small hoodlum.
“I…I didn’t really want to stab you,” the small hoodlum started to stutter nervously. He had never been good at fighting and only managed to get by with his scheming ways, he knew he was no match for others, so he always carried a knife with him, “I just wanted to scare you.”
Qi Guang’s knife was still pointing at the small hoodlum. More blood began to seep from his arm. The scene looked a little strange.
Ye Xing said, “You’re bleeding, let’s go to the hospital to treat it first.”
“Yes, yes! Brother Qi, you should get your wound treated first!” The small hoodlum started to search his pockets, pulling out fifties and twenties. It wasn’t over yet, he even produced some coins, held them in his hands, and said, “The medical expenses are on me!”
The scene was still strange just now, but now it looked like Qi Guang was robbing him.
Qi Guang stared at the small hoodlum expressionlessly and said, “Apologize first, and then promise that you and your girlfriend won’t harass Shuai Xiaoyun again.”
Qi Guang looked back at Ye Xing. Ye Xing immediately understood. He took out his phone and opened the video recording function, pointing it at the small hoodlum.
The small hoodlum had no room to resist and was about to start speaking.
“Wait!” Ye Xing stopped him and confiscated the money from the small hoodlum.
It looked more proper like this.
“Begin!” Ye Xing ordered him.
The small hoodlum swallowed his saliva and put on a sincere face, “Brother Qi, I’m sorry! I shouldn’t have overestimated myself and blocked you. I’ll never do it again! In the future, I’ll definitely walk around you from ten meters away so I don’t get in your sight, okay?”
Qi Guang stretched his neck, “Keep going! Promise.”
The small hoodlum glanced at his two brothers not far away, looked away awkwardly, and his voice became a little quieter, “I promise I won’t text Shuai Xiaoyun again, I won’t follow her to school, I won’t secretly take pictures of her…”
“Damn it!” Qi Guang’s knife shook, scaring the small hoodlum so much that he almost kowtowed three times, “If you hadn’t said that, I wouldn’t have known! Give me your phone!”
The small hoodlum obediently took out his phone, unlocked it, opened a photo album named “Goddess,” and handed it to Qi Guang.
Qi Guang quickly swiped through it, there were only some blurry photos of her back.
It seemed that this guy was more bark than bite, a coward.
Qi Guang deleted the photo album and gave the phone back to the small hoodlum, “Get lost.”
“Okay, Brother Qi,” Ye Xing put away his phone and walked up to Qi Guang, “So powerful!”
Qi Guang’s arm was still bleeding. Although it wasn’t very serious, not having stopped the bleeding, a large patch had turned red, looking very frightening. Ye Xing didn’t think much of it. He took out his school uniform from his bag, wrapped it around Qi Guang’s hand a few times, and tied it tightly.
“Thank you,” Qi Guang said, “Actually, there was no need, it’s just a small cut. It’s not bleeding anymore.”
“If it breaks open again on the way, what will you do? Get on the bike.” Ye Xing got on the bike, “Do you have a community hospital or a pharmacy around here?”
Qi Guang was helpless on the back seat, “There’s no need to be so troublesome, really. I’ll just disinfect it and wrap it with gauze myself at home. Besides, with how we look right now, covered in mud and blood, let’s not be so high-profile, or else our pictures will be all over social media before nightfall.”
“Are people around here that idle?” Ye Xing said, unable to help but laugh.
“It’s a small place, nothing big ever happens, so even a small thing attracts attention,” Qi Guang held the seat carefully, afraid that the blood on his hand would get on Ye Xing’s clothes.
“Alright, let’s go to your place.”
“Yeah, just go straight down this road, then up the bridge, after the bridge the first crossroads turn left, then stop at the third intersection,” Qi Guang said, thinking over the route in his head, then suddenly asked Ye Xing, as if he had remembered something, “Isn’t this Zhou Tian’s bike? How come you’re riding it?”
Ye Xing was riding the bike, trying to distinguish what Qi Guang was saying through the sound of the wind in his ears, and then replied, “I was going to the supermarket to buy food, I haven’t got any food these days. Riding his bike will get me home sooner, who knew I would pick you up halfway.”
“I caused you trouble, let me treat you to dinner tonight,” Qi Guang said.
“Take care of yourself first, your hand is ruined!” Ye Xing put in more effort, pedaling the bike up the bridge.
“It’s not ruined! It’s still lively!” Qi Guang said, snapping his fingers by Ye Xing’s ear.
Ye Xing was amused by him and almost fell into the ditch again.
