TSIBAMS Chapter 4
by VolareChapter 4
When the two of them came out of the supermarket carrying a pile of daily necessities, it was already dark.
Zhou Tian looked like he was about to die, “I’ve never carried so much stuff even when I’m helping my mom buy groceries. I’m just an emotionless transport machine now!”
“Thank your brother Ye, I just placed an order online for half of the stuff that isn’t urgently needed, otherwise you’d have to be carrying a basin on your head, then you’d look like a walking Indian!” Ye Xing walked ahead.
“It’s not much better now! I just hope I don’t run into anyone I know.” Zhou Tian followed him.
“Okay, okay, thank you, President Zhou, for your generous help. I’ll treat you to dinner next week.” Ye Xing turned his head back, deliberately showing a polite smile.
“A week of breakfast, thank you!” Zhou Tian didn’t hold back, after all, breakfast wasn’t expensive. It was just that he was too lazy to get up early. He often sacrificed his breakfast time to sleep in, which caused him to suffer hunger during the morning study session, only being able to rush to the school store to buy food after the first class was over.
“No problem!”
Ye Xing took out his phone to call a taxi, but who knew that Zhou Tian stopped a large tricycle, the kind that could seat four people, and even with all the daily necessities piled in, there was still a lot of space left.
Once on the tricycle, Ye Xing gave Zhou Tian a thumbs up in admiration, “You guys have a lot of different kinds of tricycles here.”
“That’s right, if you can think of it, we can ride it. Two-person, four-person, with doors, without doors, electric, human-powered…” Zhou Tian said, as if he was about to start a stand-up comedy act.
“Wait? Human-powered too?” Ye Xing immediately stopped his performance.
“Yeah, it’s like a bicycle replacing the electric motor in the front, but it’s too tiring. Sometimes when going up a slope, you can see them struggling to push it, and then they have to get off and push it, so they’re basically all phased out. The ones you see on the streets now are all electric.”
“Then don’t you have any taxis here? I didn’t even see one at the station yesterday. There was just a whole line of tricycles, you couldn’t avoid taking one even if you wanted to!”
“There are some, but tricycles are cheaper. Who would take a taxi? Only pretentious show-offs take taxis here.”
Ye Xing was speechless. So he had been a pretentious show-off for the past ten years!
After getting home and putting down their things, Ye Xing told Zhou Tian to go home. As he was leaving, Zhou Tian didn’t forget to remind Ye Xing to bring breakfast tomorrow.
“Class 28 of the second year of high school! Don’t get it wrong! Muah!”
Zhou Tian’s flying kiss didn’t even reach him before Ye Xing quickly closed the door.
Ye Xing didn’t have the habit of sleeping in. Because he didn’t know which class he was in, he arrived at school twenty minutes earlier than normal the next day. He also conveniently bought two portions of steamed buns and soy milk at the school gate and stuffed them into his bag.
Maybe he was really too early. The head of the year’s office wasn’t even open yet. So he wandered around and, as he walked, he looked up and saw the sign for Class 28 of the second year.
Oh, isn’t this Zhou Tian’s class! It was like searching far and wide only to find it right in front of his eyes.
The classroom lights were on, and someone was cleaning inside. It was obviously a dutiful class monitor.
“Excuse me, classmate, where does Zhou Tian sit?” Ye Xing asked loudly.
The other person looked up and pointed to the last row by the window.
“Thanks!” Ye Xing went around to the back door, put the breakfast on the table, and left.
Led by the head of the year, Ye Xing found his own class, Class 19, right next to Class 18.
This was an unexpected meeting.
Although it was morning reading, not many people were actually reading their textbooks. Most of them had their books up and were eating breakfast behind them. When they saw the head of the year at the door, everyone looked like they were facing a great enemy and quickly put their breakfast back into their desks.
At the back door of the classroom, there was a woman with short hair, leaning against the door, smoking a cigarette. She wasn’t flustered when she saw the head of the year, she just put out her cigarette and slowly walked over.
The head of the year’s brows were already furrowed, “Lu Yueyang!! Are you, the homeroom teacher, trying to lead a revolt?”
Heh, so she was the homeroom teacher, impressive. Ye Xing silently gave her a thumbs up in his heart.
“I was smoking outside the classroom. The smoke didn’t even drift inside.” Lu Yueyang didn’t have a trace of repentance in her tone. Her skin was even thicker than his.
“It’s not okay to smoke outside the classroom either! I’ve told you countless times, many teachers are already complaining about you being the homeroom teacher, and you still don’t know to behave, you’re even more unruly than these kids…”
Just as the head of the year was trying to start his heart-to-heart speech, Lu Yueyang immediately stopped him, “Alright, Dad!”
Then she turned and glanced at Ye Xing, who was bewildered, “You must be the new student, come in with me.”
Qi Guang was late as usual. The homeroom teacher, Old Lin, was sitting at the podium looking down at his lesson plan. He sighed silently in his heart, “Let me be discreet,” Old Lin was always against him.
He quietly slipped in through the back door.
Just as his butt touched the chair, Old Lin’s roar came, “Stand at the door!”
Damn, does Old Lin have eyes in the back of his head?
Qi Guang angrily put down his bag and picked up the breakfast on the table and walked out.
Steamed buns and soy milk.
Did it change again?
There would occasionally be breakfast on Qi Guang’s desk. This was thanks to his cousin’s daughter, Shuai Xiaoyun. More correctly, it was thanks to her endless stream of suitors.
Every morning, Shuai Xiaoyun’s desk would not be short of breakfast gifts from others. Sometimes it was one or two, and when the competition was fierce, it could reach four or five.
But Shuai Xiaoyun never ate these suspicious breakfasts. Therefore, her tablemate and the students in front and behind her were blessed, and occasionally, when there was extra, Qi Guang also benefited. Shuai Xiaoyun’s class was on the first floor of the senior high school building, and the senior high school building was close to the junior high school building. The task of benefiting Qi Guang was often completed by Shuai Xiaoyun’s tablemate—a girl wearing big frame glasses.
However, in order to please the girl, those boys usually sent cakes and bread. Today was the first time someone had sent something as practical as steamed buns and soy milk.
Tsk, tsk, tsk, with this breakfast-sending skill, he’s basically saying goodbye to picking up girls. Qi Guang thought this as he took a bite of the steamed bun.
But, surprisingly, the cabbage and pork filling was quite to his liking.
After all, those fancy cakes and bread breakfasts were only for girls to enjoy.
He hoped this classmate would continue his efforts.
Qi Guang finished his breakfast happily. Then he crumpled the plastic cup of soy milk into a ball and stuffed it into his pocket, and then threw a perfect arc toward the trash can at the corner.
Perfect!
“Damn it!” Zhou Tian appeared around the corner, panting, “Which idiot… oh, it’s Brother Qi.”
“Good morning, tablemate!” Qi Guang stretched, feeling full.
Zhou Tian stood directly next to Qi Guang and was too lazy to go into the classroom to be scolded. He and Qi Guang took turns being late every day in Class 28. Zhou Tian’s face wasn’t as thick as Qi Guang’s. Sometimes he would feel embarrassed when he was punished alone.
Qi Guang didn’t care. It was convenient to eat breakfast at the door anyway.
After the morning reading was over, there was a short two-minute break for people to go to the bathroom. Qi Guang was about to walk toward the bathroom when a female classmate wearing big frame glasses appeared, holding bread and milk in her hands.
Qi Guang recognized her, she was Shuai Xiaoyun’s tablemate, usually it was her who helped bring him breakfast.
“Hasn’t it already been delivered today?” Qi Guang was confused.
“Ah?” the girl with glasses, “No…”
Usually, the two of them would say “thank you” and the other person would say “you’re welcome,” without any extra words.
Today it had suddenly turned into a question, and the girl with glasses didn’t know how to respond for a moment, her face flushed red instantly.
Qi Guang thought she was hot, and kindly reminded her, “Why is your school uniform zipped up so high, it’s so hot.”
The girl with glasses seemed as if she had been seen through, completely embarrassed. She pushed the bread and milk into Qi Guang’s arms, then quickly turned and ran away.
Did he say something wrong?
Qi Guang was even more confused. He didn’t feel like going to the bathroom while holding breakfast, so he returned to the classroom.
“Didn’t eat breakfast, did you?” Qi Guang sat in his seat, holding the breakfast and waving it in front of Zhou Tian’s eyes, “Call me daddy, and it’s all yours.”
“Thank you, even if you call me daddy today, I wouldn’t eat it.” Zhou Tian said proudly, “I have breakfast today.”
Then he took out his phone and sent a WeChat message to Ye Xing.
– Brother Ye, which class are you in?
– Class 19, next to yours.
– Got it, I’ll come find you.
– Don’t, go eat your breakfast.
– That’s right, I’m just going to find you to get my breakfast!
– The breakfast is on your desk, don’t even think about extorting me.
Zhou Tian flipped through the messy books and notebooks in front of him, and then rummaged through his desk drawer for a long time.
Nothing?
Did it fall on the ground?
There wasn’t anything on the ground either.
“Which bastard stole my breakfast!?”
Oh well, he couldn’t mistreat his stomach. Zhou Tian turned his head and gave Qi Guang a look of surrender; “Daddy.”
Qi Guang raised an eyebrow, and with his index finger, hooked out the bag containing the milk and bread.
After lunch, Zhou Tian hooked Qi Guang’s neck as they walked out, “Let’s have lunch together.”
“No,” Qi Guang knocked Zhou Tian’s arm away, “I’m not eating at school today.”
“Hey, hey! Ye Xing, over here!” Zhou Tian waved his hand, calling to Ye Xing who was just walking out of the classroom next door.
Ye Xing looked up and saw Qi Guang, and Qi Guang also saw him at the same time.
Fuck!
Fuck!
The twenty-dollar idiot debtor!
The arrogant idiot foreigner!
After silently cursing each other, the two nodded at each other very tacitly and politely.
“Don’t try to pretend you didn’t see me,” Zhou Tian was very dissatisfied that he had become invisible in the middle, “Did you not bring me breakfast at all, you don’t even dare to look me in the eyes!”
“Do you want to extort another lunch from me? Smell yourself, is there a cabbage and pork smell on you?”
Zhou Tian sniffed his uniform, “No!”
Qi Guang’s body suddenly stiffened.
Wait, cabbage and pork filling?
Wasn’t that the steamed bun he had eaten today?
He silently took off his uniform.
“I’m telling you, my seat is in the last row, did you send it to the wrong person?” Zhou Tian pointed to the last row of his and Qi Guang’s desks at the back door, “Right over there!”
“I didn’t send it to the wrong person,” Ye Xing said, “If you keep yapping, there won’t be any tomorrow.”
“Alright, alright, alright,” Zhou Tian turned to Qi Guang and said, “Tomorrow you have to come earlier than me and watch my breakfast, I want to see which bastard dares to steal breakfast under Brother Qi’s nose!”
Qi Guang, feeling guilty, nodded in agreement, and looked around, finally seeing Shuai Xiaoyun’s figure waiting downstairs, and as if seeing a lifeline, he immediately said goodbye to them, “I’ll go now!”
Then he whistled toward Shuai Xiaoyun, “Xiaoyun!”
“Are you guys going to eat outside of school? Will you make it back in time!” Zhou Tian asked his back.
“I won’t be coming to afternoon classes!”
Skipping class for a date?
Ye Xing guessed in his heart that their relationship was indeed extraordinary.
