TSIBAMS Chapter 128
by VolareExtracurricular 3
The sun blazed like fire, and the amusement park was still bustling with business.
After Ye Xing dragged everyone to play on the roller coaster, he happily arrived at the queue for the giant pendulum. He looked up at the swinging pendulum above, listening to the screams of surrender, and felt excited.
The people behind him were still in shock from the previous roller coaster ride, especially Brother Xu, whose face was pale and his eyes were seeing stars.
Qi Guang came over from the convenience store carrying a few bottles of mineral water. He first gave one to Brother Xu: “Why don’t you rest for a while?”
“Okay!” He immediately took the opportunity to step down, dragging Bai Shu away.
“Hey, hey!” Ye Xing grabbed Bai Shu, “But Bai Shu didn’t say he didn’t want to play!”
Qi Guang, uncharacteristically, didn’t speak up for Ye Xing. After distributing the water, he opened the last bottle and handed it to Ye Xing: “God Ye, please have some water and spare us all.”
Ye Xing glared at him indignantly, took the water, and gulped down a large mouthful.
Bai Shu winked at Qi Guang, signaling him to play nicely, and helped Brother Xu through the fence to rest on a bench.
“What about your own water?” Ye Xing noticed that Qi Guang’s hands were empty.
“It’s here,” Qi Guang took the water from his hand, “Are you still drinking?”
“Hey? You’re really two-faced before and after being in a relationship,” Ye Xing clicked his tongue, “Before, you’d pay for a twenty yuan taxi fare without batting an eye, and now you’re being stingy with a bottle of water!”
Qi Guang tilted his head back and finished the rest of the water in one go, not forgetting to give him a provocative look.
“You…” Ye Xing was furious.
Qi Guang couldn’t help but laugh at his expression, and patted his head: “If you’re still thirsty, I can still buy you water, but I don’t want us to drink half of it and carry it around for a long time. And most likely I’d be the one carrying your water, then I wouldn’t have a free hand.”
“Consider yourself lucky to escape this time,” Ye Xing said, “So, explain why you need to keep your hands empty.”
“For no reason,” Qi Guang suddenly leaned closer to him, pinched his waist from behind, and then strangely took his hand, “Only with empty hands can I hold yours.”
The thirty-eight-degree temperature didn’t even make Ye Xing’s face change color, but now it was completely red.
And Li Ke, who was always most sensitive to the stench of love, had actually endured this long without expressing any insightful opinions.
He turned around and, sure enough, saw that Li Ke was not in the same space-time as him at all. His eyes were fixed on the source of the queue, and his body was constantly changing angles with the flow of the crowd ahead.
And at the source of the queue – standing by the ticket gate was a fair-skinned handsome young man, wearing a blue employee vest and a blue baseball cap, looking like a peer.
Ye Xing smiled slyly, exchanged a look with Qi Guang, and then cleared his throat, intentionally raising his voice: “Or maybe I’ll rest next to you for a while?”
Qi Guang immediately understood his intention: “Let’s go play some less thrilling rides. This giant pendulum will make people throw up later.”
Li Ke seemed to be triggered by some keyword, instantly snapping out of his daze and grabbing Ye Xing: “Qi Guang, if you’re a coward, just leave, don’t pull our Ye Xing away.”
“Hey, you…” Qi Guang looked at him helplessly.
“Ye Xing, who was the one who said he wanted to play all the thrilling rides on the way here? In the end, I’m the only one left to play with you. Am I loyal enough?” Li Ke held onto Ye Xing tightly, his gaze like a knife on the hands of Qi Guang and Ye Xing, afraid that everyone would leave.
Ye Xing laughed, shaking, it was obvious that everyone had their own agendas, but still had to pretend to be affectionate, life is like a play.
“Enough, enough, I’ll play with you… oh no, you’ll play with me.”
Hearing Ye Xing’s words, as if he had received an imperial edict, Li Ke waved his hand: “Qi Guang, go find Bai Shu and them, I’ll stay here to play with Ye Xing.”
“Me?” Qi Guang grabbed Ye Xing’s palm.
Good heavens, it was clearly just a performance to tease Li Ke, but they ended up playing themselves.
Ye Xing released him: “Go on!”
“Okay.” Qi Guang nodded, gave him a meaningful look, and turned to find Brother Xu and the others.
As soon as Qi Guang left, Li Ke stopped pulling him and continued to stand on tiptoe, swaying left and right, looking towards the ticket gate.
Ye Xing shook his head; he was indeed just a prop.
He took out his phone and sent a message to Qi Guang.
– You were just trying to leave, weren’t you? And you even pretended to play along with me!
Twenty meters away, Qi Guang, sitting in the shade to cool off, glanced at his phone, then looked up and accurately received Ye Xing’s questioning and certain gaze.
He smiled, typed on his phone, and sent it.
– That roller coaster was really intense; I felt like throwing up when I got off, but Brother Xu was even weaker than me. I was afraid that everyone would leave and no one would play the giant pendulum with you, so I didn’t say anything.
Not long after sending the message, his phone vibrated twice. Ye Xing’s hand speed was too fast.
– Ah? Are you okay?
– I feel much better after drinking water. Brother Xu and I are resting here, waiting for you.
– Then you should rest well. If you still feel unwell, tell me.
Qi Guang looked up and gave him an OK sign, smiling.
Then he extended his index and middle fingers, bending them slightly, and pointed in the direction of the ticket gate, reminding him to watch the drama carefully on the front lines.
“They really can’t be apart for even a second.” Brother Xu shook his head, clicking his tongue in a serious manner.
Qi Guang turned around, raised his chin: “Pot calling the kettle black.”
“I’m not playing with you kids anymore,” Brother Xu, as if he had lost a childish argument, yelled at Bai Shu to leave, pointing at the carousel not far away and saying, “Let’s go line up for that, and let him be alone in his empty room.”
“Are you really done resting?” Bai Shu looked at him incredulously.
“Does your Brother Xu need rest?” Brother Xu was indeed rested, his pale face after the roller coaster had regained its color, and he looked energetic and eager to try again. “I just wanted to spend some time alone with you in the shade. Someone was being insensible and had to tag along.”
He finished speaking and pulled Bai Shu to leave.
As the only adult present who had a decent IQ and refused to be led astray by children, Bai Shu didn’t get pulled away immediately. He looked at Qi Guang and invited him, “Want to ride the carousel?”
“I’ll just stay here.” Qi Guang waved his hand, “Otherwise, Ye Xing won’t be able to find me later.”
Half an hour later, Ye Xing helped Li Ke, whose legs were weak and whose hair was half-exploded, out of the exit.
Although the latter’s posture wasn’t very graceful, his face was radiant and joyful.
It was unnecessary to say how things had progressed. Qi Guang got up unhurriedly, scanned the QR code of the nearby dessert stand, and then went to pick them up, holding two ice cream cones.
He handed the ice cream to Li Ke: “Did you get his WeChat?”
“Yeah!” Li Ke took the ice cream and looked back at the ticket gate, giggling, “I’m going to spend a few more days playing with you guys.”
Qi Guang fed the first bite of ice cream to Ye Xing, exchanged a look with him, and joked: “We won’t come to the amusement park to play every day.”
“You just wait,” Li Ke looked determined, “I’ll definitely succeed in asking him out next time he’s on vacation.”
“Hey—” Ye Xing stopped and wiped the cream off the corner of his lips with the back of his hand, “Wait a minute, how did you know he was…”
Li Ke clicked his tongue, looking somewhat smug.
Now that the weakness in his legs was probably gone, he broke free from Ye Xing, stretched his body, and said: “While queuing, I stared at him for at least twenty minutes. During this time, three girls asked for his contact information, two were flirty and one was a sexy mature woman, all of whom were quite good-looking. But he refused them all, claiming that he didn’t have his phone on him at work.”
“Impressive, Li Ke!” Qi Guang clapped his hands, “You’ve even learned to lip-read to chase a handsome guy.”
Li Ke ignored his sarcasm, still smug: “I’m smart enough to understand the gestures and expressions, okay?”
Qi Guang nodded: “Then how did you add him?”
“He said—” Li Ke raised an eyebrow at him, patted his chest, “I don’t have my phone on me, but you can search for my WeChat, I’ll add you when I get off work.”
Qi Guang gave him a thumbs up.
Then, he took the rest of Ye Xing’s ice cream and took a big bite, before handing it back: “What do you want to play now?”
“Brother Qi,” Ye Xing smiled mischievously, “Do you want to ride the carousel or the Ferris wheel with me? Those are a must for couples.”
“Ride with me?” Qi Guang put his left arm on his shoulder and pulled him into his embrace.
It was a very romantic move, but Qi Guang was being mischievous when he tightened his grip. Ye Xing immediately felt like he was being held hostage, and begged: “Play with me, please, Brother Qi, it’s what I want to ride.”
Qi Guang loosened his grip but maintained his posture, asking Li Ke: “Want to join?”
“I’ll just stay here.” Li Ke walked over to the spot where Qi Guang had been sitting and waved his hand in the same way Qi Guang rejected Bai Shu. “I bet his shift is about to end; I’ll buy him a bottle of water later.”
Amazing.
This chair—
The exclusive seat for a devoted lover.
Qi Guang turned Ye Xing around and walked towards the Ferris wheel in the distance.
“There’s a carousel right next to us, why not ride that?” Ye Xing said.
“No, Brother Xu and Bai Shu are inside. Let’s not disturb them.” Qi Guang released Ye Xing, rubbed his arm and hand sweat on his clothes, and then grabbed his hand. “Besides, you said that whenever you go to a new city, you always go to high places to see it. Do you think the Ferris wheel is high enough?”
Ye Xing did indeed have this habit, a kind of OCD. No matter whether he was traveling or doing something else, even when he moved to Chen Town, he would find time to go to a high place to see the panoramic view of the city, as if he were scouting locations.
Others commemorate cities by buying fridge magnets or postcards. He was the type to climb to high places alone to take photos of the city or simply sit and create for an afternoon.
It wasn’t that he had to be alone; it was just that at that time, he had never thought about sharing the scenery or his mood with anyone.
But now it was different. Just like when Qi Guang took him to the second-hand market to share his past, he couldn’t wait to share his life with Qi Guang.
It was a gap that he had once felt didn’t matter being alone, but now longed to be filled.
Ye Xing looked up. The large wheel-shaped mechanical structure in his sight was like a huge dream, and people were queuing up to enter this dream, entering a fantasy.
He couldn’t help but smile, moving his fingers and interlocking them with Qi Guang’s: “Let’s go to the Ferris wheel!”
There were quite a few people in line for the Ferris wheel, but fortunately, people were constantly getting on and off. Unlike other rides where people had to wait in batches, walking and waiting like this, it felt like there was a number in mind, and it was quite fast to get to the front.
Other cabins were filled with a combination of a male and a female. Originally, Qi Guang was worried that Ye Xing would feel awkward when it was their turn, but the staff had seen all kinds of situations before. They expressionlessly urged them to get in quickly. Ye Xing had also been open and had been holding his hand tightly, pushing him in first before climbing in himself.
The staff skillfully closed the door, and the cabin slowly began to rotate upwards.
The moment they entered was quite intense, and both of them leaned back on each side, catching their breaths.
Qi Guang squinted at him, and suddenly felt a little stupid.
This person in front of him had openly come out on Weibo not long ago, and was even unafraid of rumors from classmates and teachers. How could he possibly feel awkward about riding a Ferris wheel with him?
He then realized that he had been secretly assuming a lot of things all along, and arbitrarily making decisions that he thought were good for him, even if he didn’t need them.
– He had his own way of loving someone.
He had known this since the phone call with Li Ke after the college entrance exam.
Even though Ye Xing would act coquettish in front of him, revealing his most vulnerable side, many times, or rather, as an adult with an independent personality, he had his own insistence and unshakable determination.
Thinking this, Qi Guang’s thumb involuntarily rubbed against the palm of his hand.
Ye Xing thought he was playing with him, so he rubbed back twice, as a response: “Time is flying by; in just half a year, Li Ke has changed his targets a few times.”
Qi Guang raised an eyebrow: “Why does that not sound like a compliment?”
“Well, just thinking about how we even argued about him chasing Bai Shu back then,” Ye Xing said.
Qi Guang actually wanted to say that he didn’t remember, after all, back then he didn’t know where he had offended him to get a cold shoulder, and later Ye Xing came to apologize to him. It wasn’t a conflict that needed to be revisited.
But from the moment they established their relationship until now, the number of arguments could be counted on one hand. If you didn’t count the time they broke up and fell apart, this seemed to be the precious only argument they had.
And it was all because of Li Ke…
He was really everywhere!
Qi Guang sighed, and just as he was about to say something like “Let’s never argue again” or “Let’s communicate well whenever something happens in the future”, he didn’t expect that Ye Xing’s mind had already flown away.
He looked down at the ground that was getting further and further away from him, lost in thought: “Do you know that Ferris wheels often exist outside of amusement parks, acting as viewing platforms?”
“I know,” Qi Guang said, “The London Eye is one example.”
“Qi Guang,” Ye Xing looked up at him, his eyes bright, “Let’s go to many, many places together and see many, many sceneries, okay?”
Qi Guang looked back, his heart suddenly beating faster. He knew that he wasn’t afraid of heights, so there was no such thing as a suspension bridge effect.
It was just that the person in front of him, no matter when, had the magic to make him suddenly feel moved.
“Okay!” he smiled, bending over to stand up.
The cabin lost a bit of balance, shaking a couple of times.
“What are you doing?!” Ye Xing looked at him, asking him through the wind.
Qi Guang was unusually excited. He slowly moved closer: “I want to sit on the same side as you!”
Ye Xing extended his arms to stop him: “Not now! It’s too dangerous! Sit back down, we can talk properly!”
“But,” Qi Guang still bent his upper body, holding one hand tightly and supporting himself with the other hand on the railing, and said in his ear: “If I sit on this side, I can’t hug you or kiss you.”
This time, it was Ye Xing’s turn to have difficulty breathing, and almost in an instant, his face turned red to the roots of his neck.
Was this a damn suspension bridge effect?
He thought to himself.
Why did he suddenly feel dizzy?
Qi Guang pecked him on the ear and slowly sat back to his original position.
After discovering that Ye Xing was blushing, he was surprised and pleased, and said matter-of-factly: “Shuai Xiaoyun told me before that if you kiss your lover when the Ferris wheel is at its highest point, you’ll be together forever. Didn’t you just say you wanted to be with me forever?”
Ye Xing took a deep breath, his voice low and without much confidence: “I was just saying we should see a lot of scenery together…”
“It’s all the same, otherwise would you be able to be with someone else and then look at the scenery with me as if nothing had happened? That’s unethical.” Qi Guang said.
Ye Xing suddenly wanted to laugh, even classmate Qi Guang had been influenced by him and had learned to banter? And he had even won against himself!
“Let me tell you,” Ye Xing wasn’t so easily defeated, “Shuai Xiaoyun saw that in a romance novel, this kind of law might not apply to us two guys.”
“Is that so?” Qi Guang used force in his hand and pulled Ye Xing over without warning. The cabin shook gently. Qi Guang also moved closer to Ye Xing to maintain balance.
The distance between the two of them was only a few millimeters.
“Right…” Ye Xing’s heart felt like it was jumping into his throat. Even if he knew what he should do now, or rather, what was about to happen, his brain temporarily lost control of his body.
Why the hell was he starting to tremble!
Qi Guang lowered his eyes, looked at Ye Xing’s lips, which were close at hand, and gently exhaled –
“But I want to be with you forever, and I hope that you will only look at the scenery with me in the future.” He let go of his hand from the railing, placed it on Ye Xing’s shoulder, and slowly moved backward, “Ye Xing, I love you.”
This was really a huge dream, even Qi Guang was actively saying love words.
Ye Xing’s mind was becoming more and more dizzy, and he smiled like he was drunk: “I love you too.”
“Should we kiss?” Qi Guang’s hand covered the back of Ye Xing’s head, gently inserting his fingers into his hair.
Time and space seemed to have stopped at this moment. Only the Ferris wheel was still mechanically operating, and the cabin was steadily rising, unknowingly reaching its highest point.
“Okay…” Ye Xing’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down as he hoarsely responded.
Qi Guang closed his eyes and gently pressed down with the hand covering the back of Ye Xing’s head, a warmth transferring from their lips.
Dizziness was probably contagious.
Otherwise, why did he feel a little weightless?
