AWDC Chapter 31
by VolareChapter 31: The Fallen Lin Xi, Bullied by Everyone
“How much is a steamed bun?” Lin Xi asked the owner in front of the tricycle.
“One yuan.”
“What about a plain bun?” He thought the steamed buns were a bit expensive.
But compared to the steamed buns, everything else was even more expensive, so he didn’t dare consider them.
“Two for one yuan.” The owner held up two fingers, smiling brightly.
“Then give me two plain buns.” Lin Xi said, glancing at the basin next to the steamer, “Is the pickled vegetable free?”
“Yes, I can get you some if you want.” The owner, a middle-aged woman, spoke politely with a smile on her face.
“Yes, please, thank you.” Lin Xi said, preparing to take out his money.
Just then, Liang Ting walked out of the factory gate, looking at Lin Xi buying plain buns for a late-night snack with disdain.
“Someone used to pay the bills, eating delicacies and drinking the best, how did you fall to eating just plain buns?” With a sarcastic remark, the woman passed by, leaving behind a pungent fragrance.
Before Lin Xi could react, Liu Jingjing also came out of the factory gate. Seeing Lin Xi with two buns in his hand, she also showed a scornful expression, said something similar to Liang Ting, and then swaggered away.
“Aren’t you the same? How are you any better than me?” Lin Xi couldn’t help but retort at the backs of the two women.
He had always been well-behaved and didn’t cause trouble, but he wasn’t someone anyone could bully. He had been deeply affected these past few days, and if he continued to endure, he would go crazy.
The two women originally thought he was an easy target, but they didn’t expect him to talk back, so they stopped and turned around.
“Who said I’m the same as you?” Liu Jingjing was the first to speak. “Am I someone you can compare to? If he doesn’t want me, I don’t care either. I have plenty of people backing me, don’t you believe me? Just try saying one more word!”
Her arrogant threat made it seem like she would hit him if Lin Xi dared to say another word.
Liang Ting followed closely, still holding a grudge against Lin Xi for ruining her plans that night.
“I thought you were docile, but I didn’t expect you to be quite capable,” she approached with a sinister smile, not afraid of a weak boy like Lin Xi at all. “Out here, you’re still talking tough without a backer, I think you need a beating. Do you want me to teach you a lesson?”
“How dare you say I’m the same as you, are you blind?” She swayed closer, her high heels making “clack clack” sounds with each step. “Look carefully, I am a genuine woman, I’m not afraid of lacking men as long as I want to find one?”
“And you? Shamelessly seducing your own friend, and now you’ve ended up like this, you’re still embarrassed to talk tough here, aren’t you ashamed?”
She approached step by step, and even raised her hand maliciously. Just when everyone outside the factory gate thought she would hit him, she quickly retracted it with a look of horror on her face.
Everyone followed her gaze and saw Mu Chuang appearing at the factory gate with a gloomy expression, his eyes sharply fixed on the woman, as if he would throw her out at any moment if she dared to make a move.
Seeing this, Liu Jingjing also withdrew her restless thoughts and quietly slipped away while Mu Chuang’s attention was not on her.
Liang Ting only exchanged a glance with Mu Chuang before quickly turning her head, retracting her hand that was about to do evil, and “humphing” stubbornly before swaying away in her pencil skirt.
Lin Xi stared blankly at the figure who appeared like a savior at the critical moment for a moment. When he approached, he called out “Brother Chuang” in a daze, but he didn’t expect that he was just “passing by,” walking straight past him without looking sideways.
If he knew that Mu Chuang had originally come to find trouble with him, and only temporarily dismissed the idea after seeing this scene, what would he feel?
He watched him walk past him, then watched him go to the nearby convenience store to buy a pack of cigarettes, and then waited for him to come back, not knowing what he was hoping for.
Mu Chuang passed by him again, glanced at the person still standing there foolishly, and then glanced at the two buns in his hand. He didn’t say anything, walked away coldly, leaving behind the sound of car keys clashing.
Lin Xi looked at his cool and perfect male figure, his eyelashes slowly getting wet, and then his mind gradually went numb.
It wasn’t until his stomach growled a few times that he slowly opened the plastic bag and started munching on his plain buns as he walked.
Mu Chuang went straight up to the third floor without looking back. After opening his door, he inadvertently glanced at Lin Xi passing by downstairs. Out of some unknown feeling, he glanced again, until he disappeared at the staircase of the male employee dormitory next door before withdrawing his gaze.
Then he leaned against the head of the bed, propped up one leg, staring blankly into the dim void, smoking one cigarette after another.
After taking a puff, he placed the hand holding the cigarette on the propped-up leg, staring at the void in a daze, for so long that the cigarette butt almost burned his hand before hurriedly throwing it into the trash can.
A lot of ash fell on the sheets. He casually brushed it off a few times, and then subconsciously glanced at it. Seeing that the material was not as good as his bed, and it was only clean, he was too lazy to change it.
At this moment, Lin Xi was washing his original sheet. The water in the bucket, mixed with the foam of laundry detergent, turned dark red, clearly showing what happened that night.
Although Mu Chuang was confused at the time, Lin Xi was particularly sober. He still remembered the feeling of every kiss the other person had left on him.
Especially the pain and satisfaction brought by the other person’s intrusion, he still remembered it vividly.
Thinking of this, his face flushed as he washed, and then he cried unconsciously.
Because he knew that they were over before they even started.
“Damn it, is this never going to end? Washing a broken piece of clothing for so long, are we going to sleep or not?” A man’s roar came from the dormitory, followed by the jeers of two other people.
Lin Xi finally came back to his senses and sped up his washing.
Logically speaking, washing something by hand on the balcony shouldn’t bother others, but those people were so hateful. Seeing that someone was weak, they wanted to bully him.
Every night, when washing up, Lin Xi was squeezed out of space, but later he knew that people’s character so he let them wash first, and waited for them to finish washing before he washed last.
Therefore, he only started washing the sheets at this time to avoid competing with others.
Who knew that those people were like mad dogs, no matter what he did, it seemed to get in their way, and they would scold him from time to time, short of laying their hands on him.
And the reason they didn’t lay their hands on him was that Lin Xi didn’t talk back. If he dared to talk back, he might get beaten up.
Lin Xi hung the sheets in the furthest corner, trying not to provoke those beasts, but he was still scolded again when he came back to sleep.
