Chapter 26: Mu Chuang Hits Someone

Mu Chuang naturally brought Lin Xi along, offering a small gift. Then came Liang Ting’s other fellow villagers—a married couple, and two middle-aged women who also arrived.

A spacious table was sparsely occupied by eight people, yet the dishes were abundant, seemingly without regard to cost.

“Good thing I didn’t choose this woman. Marrying her would require a gold mine to keep her satisfied.” Mu Chuang silently complained, looking at the table full of extravagant dishes.

Lin Xi was also astonished by the woman’s extravagance. Glancing at her attire for the evening, he felt that Mu Chuang’s decision not to choose her was correct.

Only Liang Ting’s fellow villagers showed no sign of surprise, as if her behavior was of little concern to them, considering they were merely fellow villagers.

With the guests all present, everyone began to eat at Liang Ting’s invitation.

“Having watched you grow up, in the blink of an eye, you’re 20 years old and so beautiful. You’ll surely find a good partner in the future,” said the middle-aged woman sitting next to Liang Ting, taking a bite of a delicious dish. She felt that receiving such a generous meal for a small gift required some praise.

Another quickly chimed in, “That’s right, we even attended her full moon celebration when she was born. In a flash, she’s grown so much, hee hee…”

Liang Ting smiled without speaking, occasionally glancing at Mu Chuang from the corner of her eye. She saw Zhang Qingyang persuading him to drink, and her heart tightened. She wondered if her efforts would ultimately achieve her goal.

She knew Mu Chuang’s alcohol tolerance was high; not just anyone could get him drunk.

Zhang Qingyang, relying on his influence within the company, racked his brains and made a bet with Mu Chuang. He said that if he could get him drunk, he would willingly serve him as his slave.

Mu Chuang thought it was amusing. Confident in his alcohol tolerance, he felt that Zhang Qingyang was asking for trouble.

But who knew that Zhang Qingyang, in order to fulfill his promise, would risk damaging his stomach to eventually get Mu Chuang drunk.

During this time, Lin Xi tried his best to dissuade them, but to no avail. Once Mu Chuang’s competitive spirit was aroused, nothing could stop him.

Liang Ting had originally wanted Zhang Qingyang to get Lin Xi drunk as well, but he didn’t drink alcohol, no matter how much she urged him. He stubbornly refused to give her face, which nearly infuriated her.

When the other guests left, Zhang Qingyang was helped by Liang Ting’s acquaintances into a guest room, where he vomited for half an hour.

Mu Chuang, on the other hand, was slumped on the table, taking a short, semiconscious rest.

Lin Xi stayed by his side, intending to wait for him to wake up before going home together. However, after Liang Ting settled Zhang Qingyang, she said something that startled him.

“Little brother, aren’t you going to quickly buy some sobering-up medicine for Chuang-ge? Waiting like this might mean he won’t wake up until tomorrow morning, or even worse, it could be life-threatening.”

Hearing this, Lin Xi hurriedly stood up. “Where can I buy sobering-up medicine?”

Liang Ting appeared anxious and impatient. “There are so many pharmacies downstairs, don’t you know to ask?”

“…” Lin Xi was speechless, knowing that saving Mu Chuang was the priority. Without another word, he rushed downstairs.

Liang Ting looked at the man slumped on the table, imagining what she was about to do to him. A wave of lustful heat surged uncontrollably from her feet to her head.

If nothing went wrong, he would become her man tonight. When he woke up tomorrow, he would have no way to deny it.

Thinking of this, a triumphant expression appeared on the woman’s face.

“Chuang-ge, let’s go to the room to sleep, okay?” She whispered softly into Mu Chuang’s ear. Seeing that he didn’t respond, she called the waiter, eager to take Mu Chuang to another room she had booked in advance, ready to implement her dirty and despicable plan.

Mu Chuang was slumped on the table, vaguely feeling someone pulling him. Subconsciously, his self-preservation instincts kicked in. He grabbed something and started smashing wildly…

Beer bottles shattered into shards, and several unlucky waiters were hit to varying degrees.

Liang Ting was immediately dumbfounded. She hadn’t expected this man to still be able to fight in this state. The lustful heat that had risen within her instantly dissipated, replaced by fear.

“Chuang-ge, stop!” She hurriedly stepped forward to pull him back, afraid that he would make things worse and she wouldn’t be able to afford the consequences.

The waiters retreated in a panic. Liang Ting was heavily hit by Mu Chuang as soon as she approached him. She then realized that this man didn’t recognize anyone when he was drunk.

Fortunately, it was cold and she was wearing thick clothes, so the waiters only suffered minor injuries. Otherwise, they might have already started a fight.

Without anyone pulling him, Mu Chuang temporarily calmed down, propped one hand on the table, covered his eyes with the other, and went back to “resting.”

At this time, Lin Xi came up with the sobering-up medicine and was stunned to see the glass shards all over the floor.

“What happened just now?” He asked Liang Ting, “What did you do to Chuang-ge?”

    No one answered.

After a moment, Liang Ting recovered from the pain of being hit by Mu Chuang and said with some resignation, “See for yourself, it’s not that we did anything to him, but that he hit us.”

She looked at the injured waiters, wanting to shift all the blame onto Mu Chuang.

Fortunately, it was cold and they were wearing thick clothes, so the waiters only suffered minor injuries. Otherwise, they might have already started a fight.

“How is that possible?” Lin Xi didn’t believe it. “He was clearly asleep just now. If no one touched him, how could he have hit someone?”

Liang Ting remained silent. She didn’t want Lin Xi to know that she had wanted to take Mu Chuang into the room to sleep, which had provoked him to hit people.

Seeing that she didn’t speak, Lin Xi didn’t press the matter for the time being. Then, he picked up the medicine, ready to feed it to Mu Chuang, hoping that he would sober up so they could go back earlier.

Mu Chuang was still propped up on the table, covering his eyes, looking like he was “sleeping” soundly.

“Chuang-ge, have some sobering-up medicine.” Lin Xi took the medicine and a cup of water to Mu Chuang’s side, but the other party didn’t seem to hear him, remaining motionless in his original posture.

Liang Ting, on the other hand, was hoping that Lin Xi would also get beaten up, even imagining the scene where Mu Chuang suddenly went berserk and strangled Lin Xi to death on the ground.

Unfortunately, her wishes were not fulfilled. Her vicious thoughts failed to come true.

“Chuang-ge,” Lin Xi called Mu Chuang again, even putting the medicine to his lips, “Open your mouth and take some sobering-up medicine.”

“No,” Mu Chuang surprisingly answered in a daze, “No need.”

“?” Lin Xi was stunned for a second, then overjoyed, because Mu Chuang wasn’t completely out of it. He could actually hear him and respond.

“Then shall we go back?” Lin Xi wasn’t sure what to do, because Mu Chuang probably couldn’t walk in his current state, and he couldn’t move him either, let alone drive.

    He suddenly felt useless.

“How can he go back like this?” Liang Ting, having assessed the situation, spoke up from the side. “The hotel has guest rooms. Why don’t you help him into one, and I promise to return him to you unharmed tomorrow.”
