AWDC Chapter 17
by VolareChapter 17: Believe it or not, I’ll bite you until you bleed.
Lin Xi remained silent, feeling the other person’s concern, and suddenly felt a bit melodramatic.
“It’s not that sleepy,” he opened his eyes, just in time to meet the magnified handsome face above him. The distance was so close that he felt a little flustered.
Subconsciously, he shrunk back into the bed, his eyes darting around, not daring to look directly. But the other person didn’t seem to want to straighten up, propping himself up with one hand on the pillow, bending over and staring at his face, observing his expression.
“Don’t look at me like that, you’ve woken me up from my drowsiness,” Lin Xi wanted to escape the feeling of being stared at, and rarely said a reproachful sentence.
Mu Chuang’s lips curled up, “Since you’re awake, then get up.”
Seeing that the other person could talk to him normally, he felt a lot relieved. So, he simply lifted the quilt and scooped the person up.
“Sit still,” he said, reaching for the coat beside him, draping it over him, and then taking the oiled paper package again, taking out a bunch of mutton skewers and poking at the corner of his mouth, “Try it.”
Lin Xi got a mouthful of chili powder, which suddenly activated his taste buds, making him feel the aroma was good and he desperately wanted to eat more.
He opened his lips and let Mu Chuang stuff the mutton skewers into his mouth, biting off a small piece. It was fragrant, spicy, and satisfying. So, he snatched the bamboo skewer and started gnawing on it himself.
After swallowing the first bite, he finally had time to lick the chili powder off his lips, and Mu Chuang stared at him as he used his tongue to lick his lips. A strange feeling rose from the bottom of his heart, making him very puzzled.
Lin Xi was only focused on eating. Before long, a skewer of mutton was down the hatch. When he reached for the second skewer, he realized that Mu Chuang’s eyes had never left his face, or rather, his lips.
“Chuang-ge?” Lin Xi called out to him.
“Hmm?” Mu Chuang responded, “Is it good?”
“Yeah,” Lin Xi nodded.
“Then eat it all, I’ll grill some more for you tomorrow,” he woke up in a second, throwing the strange feeling just now to the back of his mind.
“So much, I can’t finish it,” Lin Xi glanced at the large handful of skewers in the oiled paper package, feeling that eating it all would make him feel uncomfortable.
“You eat too,” he took a skewer and held it to Mu Chuang’s mouth, making a gesture to feed him, “Eat together, otherwise I’ll burst.”
Mu Chuang laughed. He found the way Lin Xi looked up and fed him so endearing, especially those clear eyes, beautiful and sincere, through which he could see his pure heart. In this complex world, such a person was hard to find.
“Okay,” he responded, his voice filled with a smile, and took the mutton skewer that Lin Xi handed over, biting it in his mouth, and then took another skewer and stuffed it back to him, speaking vaguely, “Eat together.”
“Yeah,” Lin Xi took it. Once he relaxed, his appetite increased greatly. He wasn’t dizzy anymore, and the bunch of mutton skewers was quickly wiped out by the two of them.
After eating, they brushed their teeth again, and then went back to bed contentedly.
“Oops, I can’t lie down anymore, I’m a bit full,” Lin Xi said to himself, and then sat on the edge of the pillow, preparing to sleep later.
“Play with your phone for a while,” Mu Chuang also got into bed, “Brother will show you beautiful women.”
Lin Xi replied, “I might as well play games.”
“Games are boring,” Mu Chuang retorted, “Waste of energy.”
“Then I’ll sleep,” Lin Xi said, and didn’t care if he was full or not, he lay down first.
Mu Chuang was a little disappointed, “I should have known I shouldn’t have fed you so much. You ate my food, and you won’t even play with me for a while.”
Lin Xi’s muffled voice came from the quilt, “You were the one who wanted to feed me, I didn’t force you.”
Mu Chuang “threw” his phone and followed him to lie down, “That little mouth can even talk back, believe it or not, I’ll bite you until you bleed?”
Lin Xi was stunned when he heard this, wondering if Mu Chuang knew what he had just said.
Mu Chuang also belatedly realized it and suddenly fell silent.
The scene fell into awkwardness.
After a while, Mu Chuang turned off the light, and then neither of them spoke, nor did they hug each other to sleep like the previous two nights, but they still huddled tightly together to avoid heat loss and keep the quilt warm.
The next morning, without a doubt, Lin Xi was late. He didn’t know what he was thinking about last night.
And Mu Chuang also slept until almost eight o’clock, and actually forgot to remind him.
He put on a show of writing a fine slip, only fining him ten yuan, and later posted it himself.
The workers below started gossiping, saying that Lin Xi and Mu Chuang’s relationship was unusual, completely beyond the boundaries of brothers, blatantly tolerant…
In short, they said all sorts of things.
Especially Liu Jingjing, with Li Weili backing her up, she didn’t mind being fined or fired or anything. At worst, she could just go to another floor to work, which would just reach her goal.
“Two men eating and sleeping together all day long, beyond the boundaries of brothers, what kind of relationship do you think it could be?” She spoke with both words and hints, leading people’s thoughts in a bad direction. Those with a little more knowledge knew about that kind of thing.
“You have to be kind with your words, being disliked is one thing, do you have to make people hate you?” Fu Xiaoling’s superficial work was so popular, that even Lin Xi, who was near the pillar on the platform, couldn’t help but take a few more glances at her, feeling that this woman was more composed than the other two. Although she was just as simple, she wasn’t as blatant.
If Mu Chuang married her, he could live a good life.
Lin Xi thought in his heart, and the cutting knife almost slipped and cut his hand.
Liang Ting, however, was panicked by Liu Jingjing’s blatant hint, feeling that if she didn’t make a move again, the two of them would cook the rice before long.
And Liu Jingjing and Fu Xiaoling started fighting, taking advantage of Mu Chuang’s absence to engage in a war of words.
Liu Jingjing said, “You will also be disliked sooner or later, don’t believe me, just wait and see. Your beauty is far worse than the one across from you.”
Lin Xi heard this, looked up at her, and then silently continued to do his own thing.
Fu Xiaoling retorted to Liu Jingjing, “You are so beautiful, why were you disliked? People, you can’t just look at the appearance. What’s the use of being good-looking and having a pig’s brain?”
Lin Xi then realized that Fu Xiaoling was also unforgiving in private, but she was good at pretending in front of Mu Chuang.
Although the voices of the two were not very loud, basically everyone on the assembly line heard them, and then they realized that what they had heard before was not groundless.
“Manager Mu is really greedy, stepping on several boats,” a middle-aged woman gossiped first.
Another wanted to say something, but at this time saw the group leader Li Chun coming in, so she quickly closed her mouth.
Being caught by her wouldn’t necessarily result in a fine, but being lectured was unavoidable.
Then Mu Chuang also walked in. He had just gone out to handle some business and was blocked by Li Weili at the stairwell, who insisted on making him agree to transfer Liu Jingjing, but unexpectedly, Mu Chuang suppressed him with both soft and hard tactics.
From then on, the two became enemies in private.
