AWDC Chapter 15
by VolareChapter 15: Eight-Pack Abs
“Sleep up here.” He extended another arm above Lin Xi’s head, signaling him to lie down on it.
Lin Xi was rendered speechless by him. He clearly didn’t mean anything by it, yet he insisted on being so intimate, making him anxious.
He hesitated, but before he could move, Mu Chuang pulled him up forcefully and even tucked the blanket behind him considerately.
“It’ll be warm after a little cuddle, then you can sleep on your own.” He naturally shifted into a comfortable position, even placing a leg over Lin Xi’s body, making them seamlessly connected.
Lin Xi was nervous to death, but it was slightly better than last night. He seemed to be getting used to being held like this.
“Lin Xi,” Mu Chuang wasn’t sleepy yet, suddenly recalling a question, “Which of the remaining two women do you think is more suitable for me?”
Lin Xi’s originally drowsy mind suddenly cleared. He hadn’t expected Mu Chuang to ask him this question; it was simply too much.
“I don’t know.” He naturally wouldn’t make decisions for others, “This kind of thing depends on you, Chuang-ge.”
Mu Chuang was silent for a moment, as if pondering, then sighed as if he couldn’t make up his mind, “Don’t rush, the bad ones will eventually reveal their true colors over time.”
“Mm.” Lin Xi cooperated with a response, the last part filled with sincerity, “Chuang-ge is still young, there are plenty of opportunities, there’s really no need to rush.”
Calculating Mu Chuang’s age, he was just over twenty-one. For modern people, marriage was indeed still early; he had plenty of time to slowly pick someone satisfactory.
“Okay,” Mu Chuang believed Lin Xi, his hand on the other’s waist involuntarily tightened, and he continued, “Our Lin Xi is still calm, able to remain unmoved even with beauties waving in front of his eyes.”
As he said this, he became somewhat excited, perhaps thinking of certain scenarios. The leg pressing on Lin Xi tightened even more, and somewhere stirred with a reaction.
Lin Xi’s body stiffened, his fine hairs standing on end, and he almost stopped breathing.
“Chuang-ge,” his voice trembled slightly, “I’m already warm, I can sleep on my own.”
Mu Chuang hesitated for a second, “Okay, going to sleep early is fine too, we have to go to work tomorrow.”
Before, when he slept alone, it didn’t matter if he stayed up late, because he didn’t have to get up early like ordinary workers. But Lin Xi was different; he had to get up before seven o’clock, or he’d be late.
Mu Chuang allowed him to crawl out of his arms, and then the two of them lay side by side, preparing to sleep.
After turning off the light, Mu Chuang closed his eyes and fell asleep first.
But Lin Xi’s heart was pounding like a drum. Thinking of Mu Chuang’s reaction just now, he couldn’t fall asleep for a long time, his heart beating wildly.
He didn’t know how long passed before he heard Mu Chuang’s long, drawn-out breaths…
He was really asleep.
Only Lin Xi was still lost in wild thoughts, until he fell into a deep sleep in the second half of the night…
The alarm rang, Mu Chuang turned it off, annoyed, and called Lin Xi after ten minutes.
“Lin Xi~” He called out, and when he saw that the other hadn’t woken up, he turned over and played a trick from behind, slipping a hand into the other’s thermal underwear, from the lower back all the way to the navel.
“Ah!” Lin Xi was awakened by the touch on his waist, still feeling the coolness that Mu Chuang had brought back when he reached out to turn off the alarm, and his whole body was instantly stunned.
“Chuang-ge, what are you doing?” He subconsciously held down the restless hand, not letting it continue to touch other places.
“Haha…” Mu Chuang laughed and withdrew his hand, then patted the other’s butt, “Told you not to get up early, you didn’t wake up when I called, if I didn’t deal with you like this, you’d probably sleep until noon.”
Lin Xi was so embarrassed by him that he wanted to die, but he couldn’t find a reason to argue, and finally he just muttered, “Don’t do this to me next time.”
“Hehe!” Mu Chuang smiled mischievously and sat up as well, grabbing his coat and putting it on, “If you wake up earlier than me, you can return the favor, tit for tat, everyone wins.”
“I don’t want to.” Lin Xi said stubbornly, but in his heart, he only regretted that he didn’t have the courage to touch the other’s eight-pack abs.
“You’re losing out if you don’t want to,” Mu Chuang said confidently, “Not just anyone can touch Chuang-ge’s abs.”
“But speaking of which, why aren’t you gaining any weight?” He continued babbling, “When I was your age, I was much stronger than you. Looks like I have to feed you well, so that when we go back this year, you won’t still be so skinny. Maybe your dad will think I’m mistreating you.”
“My dad wouldn’t say that.” Lin Xi retorted immediately, a trace of gloom flashing across his face, “He probably doesn’t even remember how old I am, let alone whether I’m fat or thin.”
A sigh came from beside him, “Poor little thing, let gege love you from now on.”
After Mu Chuang finished speaking, he gave him a comforting hug, then got up and went to make breakfast before him.
He bought fresh cold noodles last night, and in the morning he fried them with eggs and shredded carrots, sprinkled with chopped green onions before serving, simple and delicious.
Lin Xi loved it, feeling that he didn’t seem like he came from another place at all, and he really liked the local flavors.
Or maybe it was because he had been raised poorly since he was a child and wasn’t picky about anything.
The two went to work together, startling those gossiping older sisters and younger girls, because Mu Chuang never arrived so early before.
His sudden appearance in the workshop at this time made them quickly swallow half the words they were about to say, for fear of being caught and fined fifty or a hundred, wasting half a day’s work.
Lin Xi went to his workstation, while Mu Chuang sat in the office area of the workshop. The first thing he did at work was to make tea, and then he looked at reports and such, which seemed easy and comfortable to ordinary employees.
He glanced at the position of the QC team and found that Liu Jingjing was not absent. He had originally thought that she would be angry and not come to work, but he didn’t expect her to be so calm today, as if nothing had happened yesterday.
“She’s sensible,” Mu Chuang thought in his heart without praise or criticism, then withdrew his gaze and did what he was supposed to do.
But unexpectedly, half an hour later, the third-floor supervisor came to him and whispered that he wanted to transfer Liu Jingjing away.
“What does Supervisor Li mean?” He was quite puzzled, not understanding why this middle-aged man suddenly wanted to transfer someone from his department, and even specified Liu Jingjing.
“We’re short of QC above, and it seems like you can spare one here.” Unexpectedly, the reason Li Weili gave was like this, almost making Mu Chuang choke with laughter.
“Supervisor Li might as well take a closer look at how much they have to catch up with every day. I’m even planning to add someone. I’m afraid transferring one is not very realistic.” Mu Chuang said, looking towards the QC team, but unexpectedly found that none of them had backlogs today.
