Chapter Index

“I’m here to get an answer…”

Edwin was dressed in a pitch-black military uniform, a row of shining military medals hanging on his chest, almost submerging the full outline of his left chest.

The dazzling golden emblem was like a cunning snake, coiled around his strong and powerful waist, like a thorny flower branch. The black-haired Female Chong had a solemn expression, and his light blue eyes were calm and determined. Although his face was handsome, it couldn’t be described as bewitching or erotic in the slightest. But when Serra looked at him, he couldn’t find any words to describe the stinging and warmth that sprouted in his chest.

His heart was pounding wildly in his chest, and his ears were filled with a deafening buzzing. He felt an unknown, unfathomable light shining on Edwin’s face, separating him and his world into two completely different entities, and that almost blasphemous beauty could instantly steal Serra’s breath away.

A tremor crawled up Serra’s tailbone, making him tremble visibly. He stared blankly at Edwin, who had put on his military uniform again, unsure if his eyes had turned into inhuman vertical pupils, or if desire was flowing heavily down the corners of his eyes.

After a few breaths of not getting an answer, Edwin had to look at Serra again. His black hair was gathered behind his head by his military cap, presenting a satin-like texture under the light. This indicated that the Female Chong was healthy and strong, and his physical fitness and state had recovered to their peak.

He was an Imperial General, a brave and skilled general of the Chong race.

Serra belatedly remembered what Edwin had just said. His lips and tongue were dry and astringent, and his Adam’s apple rolled up and down twice before he stammered to find his voice:

“Of course! Male parent is about to become their General, the only leader of the Fourth Army. You can tell them anything, they will listen to you, and I will ensure that the Church and those Male Chong media reporters will not interfere with you–”

    “Young Male Master.”

Edwin interrupted Serra’s rambling. Those blue eyes contained many complex emotions, gradually calming down Serra’s overheated brain and chest.

Yes, this was a crucial day for Edwin. It was the day his life returned to its original trajectory, the day everything he had fought for returned to his hands. What Edwin needed was his firm support, and Serra would give him everything he wanted.

“I want to tell them… Marshal Ax’s unfinished words, I want to tell them that after Marshal Ax left, his soul will always be with us.”

When the black-haired Female Chong mentioned Ax, he was clearly suppressing some emotions, his eyes lowered, and the butterfly-wing-like eyelashes cast a heavy shadow on his white face, like the lingering ghosts of past hardships, lingering on his face.

Serra could tell that Edwin was nervous, but he could also see his determination. Admittedly, Edwin was not a Female Chong who was good at words. In fact, after Female Chong and Yaci were banned from studying literature, art, humanities, law and other subjects, most of them had simple words and lacked complex language skills.

The Chong society has always defined Female Chong and Yaci as tools and weapons, and tools and weapons do not need to study humanities, philosophy, and art. The ruling Male Chong believe that these subjects are too advanced for tools, and the intelligence of Female Chong and Yaci is extremely limited and does not have the ability to understand elegant art and humanistic philosophy.

But Serra, who came from Earth, of course knew what the authorities were really afraid of. They feared that these words, art and music as common languages, would inspire thinking and rebellion among the Female Chong and Yaci. What truly limited the Female Chong and Yaci was not their intelligence, but the hidden timidity and fear of the Male Chong.

No power is more powerful than the words, music, and art that act on the mind and thoughts.

“I am proud of you, Male parent,” Serra said softly, every word soaked with sincere and real emotion. Edwin, whom he had just met, was like an overly exquisite doll, kneeling silently in front of a Male Chong cub’s bed. He disregarded life and death, his behavior was rigid and stiff, and he could hardly express his heart and emotions.

Now, Edwin was about to stand in front of the Fourth Army, like his former superior and mentor Marshal Ax, using words to guide his compatriots.

And this time, Serra would ensure that not only the Female Chong of the Fourth Army would hear all of this, but all the Yaci and Female Chong in the entire universe would share the soaring wings of their compatriots at this moment through the wristband network.

    He was proud of Edwin.

“I believe Male parent can do it,” Serra gave Edwin a relaxed smile: “You have always performed well in the various courses on the wristband network! Male parent is not only invincible on the battlefield, you are also a banner in the hearts of the military Females and all compatriots. Go and tell them what’s in your heart, Male parent, just like Marshal Ax did back then, they will understand. The power of the mind, the power of freedom and equality, is a brilliance that religion, power and brutality can never erase.”

The Male Chong’s pair of caramel-colored eyes carried a shallow halo, and endless love and warmth spread in his eyes, making his handsome and immature face almost take on a hint of divinity, causing Edwin’s chest and cheeks to heat up one after another. The pressure on Edwin’s heart and the pain caused by Marshal Ax’s old affairs dissipated a little, and he helplessly avoided the Male Chong’s overly scorching gaze, and said in a low voice:

“My language scores and art appreciation courses have always been very poor. The reason why the grades are good is because you keep modifying the standards because of my answers. This behavior is not noble, Young Male Master. I have seen many posts on the wristband network questioning the fairness of the textbook assessment.”

    Okay, caught.

Serra’s cheeks flushed red. The simple and studious Female Chong and Yaci had not yet invented the word “cheating”, and had not yet reached the point of criticizing Serra, the textbook designer, or being indignant. Most of them just expressed confusion, but Serra also knew that his favoritism was not glorious.

Lin, a teacher who prides himself on being fair and teaches and educates people, secretly clenched his fingers for the first time in shame, his cheeks flushed but he was stubborn:

“Can language and art have fixed standards? The textbooks I produce must be taught flexibly and vary from Chong to Chong!”

Edwin knew that he couldn’t win an argument with Serra, and he didn’t want to do so. He just glanced at Serra helplessly, then turned around gently. Serra saw that under his straight military uniform, his broad shoulders were tense, and then slowly relaxed.

Edwin walked down the airship. At the same time, countless shooting robots took off, covering the Female Chong at three hundred and sixty degrees without any blind spots. On the vast training ground of the border star, the Female Chong of the Fourth Army were standing full, and countless screens surrounded the training ground, on which were displayed other military Females who could not be present because of insufficient rank or were on missions.

People from the Church, scribes from the royal family, and reporters dispatched by various planets were gathered on the high platform. Most of them had angry faces, especially the Church Male Chong who had originally taken over the Fourth Army, but were seized power by Noah, represented by Serra.

Yes, before Serra seized power, the Generals and commanders of the four major legions had become Male Chong who had never been on the battlefield and had never shed a drop of blood for the Empire, but instead constantly provoked wars. They brazenly occupied the leading positions in the army, and did not care about the life or death of the military Females.

Serra investigated that after Marshal Ax and Edwin left the army one after another, the four major legions completely fell into the hands of the Male Chong. The mortality rate of senior military Females increased by two times, and the mortality rate of low-level military Females increased by sixty percent.

    This was a naked massacre.

But none of the Male Chong standing on the high platform would feel any guilt because of this. They looked angrily and eagerly at Edwin, the only Female Chong who dared to stand on the same high platform as them, who dared to steal the benefits belonging to the Male Chong by using the power of the Duke’s Mansion, and Serra, who was wearing a Duke’s dress, and slowly walked down behind Edwin.

The buzzing discussion rose up, but the military Female’s team did not say a word. Most of the military Females’ faces were numb, like soulless puppets, and not even a trace of light came out of their eyes, which reminded Serra of Edwin’s appearance when he first met him.

The Church Male Chong who had been seized power still had an arrogant expression, but the media workers did not have these scruples. They urged the photography airships, almost pointing at Edwin’s face, and arrogant questions rose and fell, blatantly questioning the same content.

“Lowly Female Chong, how dare you? How dare you appear here, in broad daylight, how dare you use the power of the Duke’s Mansion, how dare you take away the interests belonging to the Male Chong from their hands?”

Edwin stood on the high platform, and the epaulettes on his chest were shrouded in the shadows of the photography robots. He did not speak, but his calm face exposed everything.

    He dared.

Serra stood behind him, desperately suppressing an overly sweet smile on the corner of his lips. Suddenly, like the day of the Apocalypse reappearing, the space in mid-air was torn apart by an invisible force. Countless pitch-black, thorn-covered vines poured down from mid-air, accompanied by mysterious whispers from the abyss.

The invisible force sucked away all the light, and all sounds came to an abrupt halt, except for the fear that stirred in the hearts of all creatures present due to instinct.

“Everyone, please be safe and don’t be agitated.”

Serra’s voice sounded treacherous and changeable in the silence that could be heard, accompanied by the buzzing sound of thousands of excessively close camera airships exploding. A thick and incomparable, pitch-black vine that was difficult for the Chong race to associate with the Male Chong’s weak mental tendrils swept the Male Chong, whose faces changed drastically, off the metal high platform with the imperial emblem printed on it, like driving a flock of lambs. And Serra himself also strode out of the team and stood on the Female Chong side.

The strongest Male Chong in the Empire, the Male Chong who defeated the Church and seized the artifact, the only Chong race in thousands of years that made the Church retreat – the rumors were true.

This was the only thought in the hearts of all the Chong race. They opened their eyes wide, but found that the Duke of Noah, who should have controlled the overall situation and had terrifying abilities, did not stay on the high platform, but slowly walked down the high platform and stood in the ranks of the audience.

He seemed to be unaware of the surrounding horrified or angry gazes, and he stood under the stage, his gaze permanently fixed on the only military Female remaining on the high platform.

As suddenly as it had descended, the pitch-black tendrils disappeared abruptly again. The terrifying pressure was lifted, and many of the Male Chong who were directly affected slumped unseemly on the ground. Unnamed liquid gathered into a ball under them. Fear made their faces purplish and their bodies trembled. On the high platform, Edwin’s gaze was no longer obscured by the Male Chong and cameras. He looked at those military Females, and a kind of fateful responsibility rose from his abdomen and filled his chest.

Of the four major legions, he had served in the First Army. His understanding of the Fourth Army was limited to the coordinated missions between the legions. After many years, most of the military Females who had worked with him had died in battle or become Female slaves of some unknown Male Chong. And under the care of the Mother Goddess, he stood again on this high platform that belonged to the military Females.

This was the position where Marshal Ax, who had once served as the commander of the four armies, had stood.

Edwin’s heart was beating with a nostalgic stinging sensation, and he opened his mouth and said:

“My compatriots, my comrades, I…” He paused for a moment, and then said:

“My partners whose fate is connected. I am Edwin, the former General of the First Army, the Female slave of the Duke of Noah’s Mansion, a Female Chong who has been marked by the Male Chong. I am standing here today not to declare my control over the army as a Female Chong trusted by the Duke of Noah.”

“I’m here to get an answer.”
