Chapter 13: Silly Male Parent Makes Male Insectoid Cub’s Heart Soft
The male insectoid cub’s obedient and coquettish appearance was extremely adorable. Its chubby little claws clung tightly to Edwin’s chest, and its curly chestnut hair softly brushed against the dark-haired female insectoid’s chin. It was more captivating than the divine child on the church’s holy image, making one’s heart yearn.
Gentle light caressed the male insectoid cub’s milk-like skin, as if lovingly kissing the docile and harmless cub in the female insectoid’s arms. But no one truly believed that the cub before them was harmless.
The cub’s “hee hee” giggles still echoed from the female insectoid’s broad embrace. The spoiled sound, to the church members, was like the devil’s death knell:
“Lowly male insectoids are indeed different, Prince Ilia, don’t you agree? The church gathers so many inferior male insectoids, vainly trying to fly the flag of male insectoid mutual aid, coveting the same status as higher male insectoids. It’s truly laughable.”
Serra raised its face and spoke to the pale-faced Ilia. Ilia lowered his head, expressing complete respect and support for the male insectoid cub’s veiled accusations, even though he knew that the cub was saying this entirely to provoke conflict between the royal family and the church.
If it were any other day, with Ilia’s political acumen, he would never offend the church so thoroughly. Not to mention that the relationship between the royal family and the church was interdependent, but even their conflicts were not something a mere female insectoid could interfere with.
But this time, it was truly different.
Ilia lightly raised his eyes, met Edwin’s gaze for a moment, then lowered his eyes to sweep over the male insectoid cub in Edwin’s arms, his eyes hiding deep astonishment and sharpness.
A cub who could strangle an S-level male insectoid before development, a miracle with mental tendrils displaying a rebellious black. The male insectoid cub might be greedy for power and titles, but his attitude towards female insectoids and sub-male insectoids wasn’t bad. On the contrary, he seemed somewhat close to them. Perhaps he would become a card to turn the tables.
Ilia lowered his eyes, concealing the shrewd gleam in his depths, and echoed in a low voice:
“Serra is right. The Noah family and the other three families have always been the greatest jewels on the royal scepter since ancient times. The ancestors of the Noah family created the nation together with the royal family, and they will certainly watch over and help each other in the future. Serra’s bloodline is so noble, naturally different from male insectoids of humble origins.”
He spoke lightly, but it made the church’s male insectoids flush red, revealing extreme anger and humiliation. How could they have imagined that they, who prided themselves on being sacred, would one day be ruthlessly humiliated in public by a lowly female insectoid? It was simply absurd!
Alec’s Vice-Bishop Ford could hardly bear the humiliation, and roared with red eyes:
“Base insect! Who gave you the courage to slander the divine child? The Mother Goddess equally bestows love on every male child, and you are just a lowly, filthy female insectoid! Even if your brother, His Highness Colean, were here in person today, he would not stop the church from judging you, the foul-mouthed insect!”
As he spoke, his tail hook emerged from the end of his robe, and two earthy-yellow tendrils, slightly more solid than his Bishop Alec’s, stabbed towards Ilia and Edwin like two sharp knives. Clearly, relying on the fact that he was an A-level male insectoid, he felt that Alec’s injury just now was due to a mistake, and couldn’t wait to personally execute the female insectoid who dared to offend the male insectoids and the church’s dignity.
Ilia and Edwin’s faces both changed. The fear carved into their genes made their bodies stiff, but soon, two dark, solid, and strong tendrils shot out from the cub’s back, flinging the earthy-yellow tendrils away. Ford didn’t even have time to cry out before collapsing onto the church robot behind him, his robe exuding a dark, fishy odor.
Serra had received a good education, and wouldn’t laugh at or despise others for their uncontrollable physiological reactions. But then again, were these male insectoids even human? Using lethal moves on female insectoids who couldn’t resist them, cornered dogs jumping over the wall, disregarding life. Even Serra, who originally had a good temper and was well-cultivated from teaching, often had the urge to use a Gatling gun to humanely destroy all these male insectoids.
The male insectoid cub’s beautiful brown curls bounced on his head as he chuckled:
“What a pity. Some defective products need to expose their tail hooks to use mental energy, are they even worthy of being called male insectoids? Pretending to be a divine child will be punished by the Mother Goddess, if the great Colean knows of the church’s scandal at the Duke’s Mansion today, he would surely feel sorry for the Pope, hee…”
Edwin, holding the cub, looked worriedly at the little male insectoid cub in his arms, his eyes flashing with worry, and quietly held the little male insectoid closer, fearing that the fragile little male insectoid cub wouldn’t be able to protect itself. The church wasn’t as simple as it seemed, this Edwin understood in his heart. He knew the male insectoid cub was powerful, but the male insectoid cub’s delayed development was also a hidden danger.
His arms bulged with muscle, squeezing the male insectoid cub’s soft, fleshy little belly out of shape. The cub, who was just spouting harsh words and “hee hee”-ing at the opposite side, burped in a very unferocious manner, its momentum disappearing completely. Anxious, the male insectoid cub secretly pulled at the female insectoid’s fingers with its chubby hands, finally freeing its little belly.
Serra knew that Edwin was worried, but he wasn’t just talking nonsense. There were many loopholes in the Duke’s Mansion: the robots with forcibly deleted memories, those frightened sub-male insectoids and female insectoids who might inform the church, and Ilia, who was still recovering from his injuries. If the church intended to investigate this matter carefully, under the pressure of imperial law, the church, and power, Serra couldn’t guarantee that he could protect all the insects, protect Edwin unscathed. He had to enrage the church insects, make them lose their minds.
Fortunately, the female insectoid prince Ilia from the royal family was smart, while those from the church were a few fools.
As expected, Alec’s face was extremely ugly. He tremblingly stood up with the support of the robot. He looked at the male insectoid cub through gritted teeth and with trepidation. In the face of great power, he finally regained his senses:
“Serra, we are all saddened by the Duke’s misfortune. But even if you become the new Duke, your developmental illness will still depend on the church’s divine power. Don’t forget, the Pope and the Holy Son are the insects closest to the Mother Goddess, the Mother Goddess be with us.”
Alec had roughly determined in his heart that the cub before him was the culprit who caused the S-level Duke’s mental breakdown. No weapons or technology had the power to harm the male insectoid’s “divine power,” except for a more powerful male insectoid. Male insectoids killing each other had always been considered taboo by the church, but now, he wanted to stop it but it was too late.
This male insectoid cub was a newborn powerful male insectoid, so terrifying even before development. It was a pity that he had already expressed his willingness to lean towards the royal family, and was born in the mansion of a high-level male insectoid.
A gloomy look flashed in Alec’s eyes. The church had been looking for male insectoids with strong abilities. Because of his non-noble origins, Alec had always hoped that a powerful male insectoid would be born in a low-level male insectoid’s family, to prove the church’s theory that “the Mother Goddess loves all divine children equally.” But now, he had completely offended this precious male insectoid cub, and couldn’t let the Pope and the Holy Son know about his foolish act of offending a powerful male insectoid.
Damn it… perhaps this kind of foolish male insectoid cub shouldn’t develop.
“The Mother Goddess be with us, my power comes from my bloodline and family, my body doesn’t need the church’s concern.”
The male insectoid cub lifted its eyelids, disinterested, but its little heart was thumping, waiting for the opposite side’s reaction. Sure enough, Alec, unable to bear the humiliation, hurriedly left Noah’s Duke’s Mansion with Vice-Bishop Ford, who was like a puddle of mud, without even checking the robot’s records.
The male insectoid cub, who had just puffed out its little chest and acted fiercely, twitched its ears. When the damned footsteps disappeared, it immediately softened into a puddle of soft pastry, collapsing into Edwin’s arms. While burying itself in Edwin’s warm chest, it complained in a delicate voice:
“Male parent, they’re so bad! Male parent must never believe the church’s nonsense again, it’s bullshit. If they are considered divine children, then the gods aren’t anything good either—oof!”
The little chubby cub, who was suddenly patted on the bottom, raised its apple face in shock, and saw the black-haired female insectoid with a guilty and anxious expression lowering its exquisite face, and said softly:
“Young Male Master, the Insect Mother is the Mother Goddess, even if… they are not divine children, but the Insect Mother is the Mother Goddess.”
The black-haired military female insectoid said anxiously, a trace of sadness flowing between her pale and weak eyebrows. He hadn’t received much proper education, and couldn’t say anything more sonorous and grandiose, but the devout little female insectoid still believed in the high-ranking gods.
“Young Male Master, you are the Mother Goddess’s male child. You are a divine child.”
The black-haired female insectoid lowered that impactful and beautiful face even closer, almost touching the cub’s soft, chubby ears, and said this sentence firmly, a pair of light blue eyes filled with pure light.
Serra’s gaze uncontrollably gathered on Edwin’s face. As his eyes met Edwin’s, his apple face flushed red, and his heart beat faster and faster. He suddenly felt guilty for his fallacies, and even more sorry for the black-haired female insectoid who was holding him tightly, protecting him like a male parent protecting its cub.
The female insectoid had lived in the church’s fabrication her entire life. He had seen with his own eyes the male insectoid’s indestructible power, destroying all his efforts and cherished things. But even so, he could still be so kind, and easily fooled, protecting a male insectoid cub with ulterior motives, devoutly believing in the god who didn’t favor him.
Serra’s heart felt sour and swollen. He “pounced” on the black-haired female insectoid’s big chest muscles, and whimpered, “I was wrong, male parent, don’t be angry. Why did you run out of the medical bay? You promised me you would take good care of yourself, not talk too much, and stay with me all the time.”
This time it was the female insectoid’s turn to be silent for a moment: “I promised not to talk too much.”
A stubborn look appeared on the black-haired female insectoid’s face: “But I want to protect the Young Male Master.”
He promised the Young Male Master that he wouldn’t take the blame on himself in front of the church and the royal family, so that he couldn’t accompany the Young Male Master’s growth. He did indeed do it, it wasn’t breaking his promise.
Serra raised its small face to look at him, and was softened by the fragile and stubborn look on the female insectoid’s porcelain-white face. The male insectoid cub once again buried its face into the big chest muscles without any resistance, helplessly and affectionately holding the female insectoid’s hand:
“Is male parent bullying me! Knowing that I only want male parent to be safe and sound, without getting hurt.”
