Chapter 256: Not even a smile

After a night of madness, Zhou Zhou was sore all over. He struggled to get up and looked at the torn tuxedo on the floor, the fox tail broken into several pieces, and the flattened fox ears. His head throbbed.

“I’m going to have to pay for this.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the door was pushed open. Pei Yanlie, having had his fill, walked to the bedside with only a towel around his waist, his upper body bare and covered in scratches.

Zhou Zhou’s gaze was fixed on his chest, and his throat felt itchy. He swallowed hard. “Are you doing this on purpose?”

Pei Yanlie raised an eyebrow and gently ruffled his tousled hair. “Little Zhou, where did you learn those moves?”

Zhou Zhou felt a chill down his spine. The calmer Pei Yanlie appeared, the more it proved that he was suppressing a fire inside. Offending him would have serious consequences. He didn’t dare to hide anything. “Just…just watched some videos, learned a few tricks.”

Pei Yanlie narrowed his eyes, his voice low and dangerous. “Besides me, are you aroused by other men’s bodies?”

Zhou Zhou quickly shook his head, knowing that discretion is the better part of valor. “Besides you, no one else interests me!”

“Don’t watch that garbage with no nutritional value. It’s bad for your eyes.” Pei Yanlie’s lips curved into a smile as he rubbed his waist.

[Pei Yanlie, take a look at yourself, aren’t you afraid of me getting a sty!]

Pei Yanlie followed his gaze to the bath towel and said in a husky voice, “Don’t be too alluring.”

    “Got it.” Zhou Zhou pouted.

    [Such poor self-control!]

“Mm.” Pei Yanlie didn’t deny it. “Can you walk? Let’s stay here and rest today.”

“No, we promised to go to the military.” Zhou Zhou pulled back the covers and got out of bed. The pain was within tolerable limits, but he walked with a slight stagger, making it obvious that something was wrong.

“Pei Yanlie, are you doing this on purpose? Every time we agree to go to the military, you go crazy. If you don’t want me to go, just say so. Don’t use these underhanded tactics.” Zhou Zhou glared at him, displeased.

Pei Yanlie took him to the bathroom, helped Zhou Zhou brush his teeth and wash his face, and even personally found a set of clothes to help him change. Finally, amidst Zhou Zhou’s comfortable sigh, he blocked his mouth and gave him a pre-breakfast kiss.

At 9:30 AM, Zhou Zhou arrived at the military base training camp. Today’s main task was to visit and understand the upcoming training plan.

Dozens of newcomers in short-sleeved camouflage uniforms were gathered on the grass. They only dared to glance at Zhou Zhou and General Pei out of the corner of their eyes, afraid to look directly, lest they be discovered by the officers and severely tormented.

An officer with a stern and rigid face immediately saluted upon seeing Pei Yanlie, shouting with full vigor, “General Pei, good morning!”

“I’ll leave these people in your care.” Pei Yanlie turned his head to look at Zhou Zhou’s handsome profile, lowering his voice. “Satisfied? Your lips are drooping. Don’t let others see you smile.”

[That’s too much. Not even allowed to smile?]

Zhou Zhou squinted at him, grinding his teeth against the soft flesh inside his mouth, inexplicably wanting to bite him.

The young officer responded, his gaze falling on Zhou Zhou, seemingly unintentionally.

“Hurry up and leave. Don’t get in my way.” Zhou Zhou covered his mouth and whispered to Pei Yanlie.

Pei Yanlie was extremely helpless. Zhou Zhou couldn’t wait to push him away after only being apart for a day or two.

It both amused and infuriated him.

The two whispered for a long while until Pei Yanlie left with a dark face. Only then did the officer approach and strike up a conversation.

“Hello, my name is Song Ming. The general told me about your plan. Next, I will train you according to the standards of training new recruits. If you can’t handle it, remember to submit a report in advance.”

Zhou Zhou had no objections to this. “By the way, can I join the training now?”

Song Ming nodded. “Of course, no problem. Go to the left side of the first row.”

Zhou Zhou’s arrival caused a surge of curiosity among the newcomers. Was this person the general’s little lover?!

How could the general bear to let his little lover endure such inhuman torment!

He looked so delicate and tender. Wouldn’t he start crying and calling for his parents after running for two minutes?

Song Ming shouted loudly, “Where are your eyes looking! I know the newcomer is a handsome guy, making you itch, but don’t show that lewd expression in front of me, or else go home!”

Zhou Zhou imitated the others and stood at attention, looking quite decent. Song Ming nodded in satisfaction.

“Next, you’ll do a 3,000-meter run with weight. Zhou Zhou, step out and come with me.” After giving the order, Song Ming turned and walked towards the shaded area.

Zhou Zhou looked puzzled. “Don’t I have to run?”

“It’s your first day here. Warm up your body first before running.” Song Ming put his hands behind his back. “Next, follow me to do a set of warm-up exercises.”

The sun was scorching, and the newcomers on the grass were covered in sweat. With Song Ming’s sentence, “Dismissed!”

Everyone cheered and swarmed towards Zhou Zhou. “You’ve been in the sun all morning. Why hasn’t your skin tanned at all?”

“Zhou Zhou, what’s your relationship with the general?”

Zhou Zhou raised his hand to wipe the sweat from his forehead and looked at him with a smile. “Guess.”

That person was stunned for a moment, his face, tanned black and red, turned even redder. He stammered, “That…are you really together?”

“Any objections?” Zhou Zhou pursed his lips.

“No, that’s not what I meant.” He became anxious and smiled awkwardly. “Let’s go, let’s go to the cafeteria together.”

Zhou Zhou shook his head and refused. “You guys go ahead. See you this afternoon.”

The tall figure disappeared before everyone’s eyes. A group of newcomers showed envious expressions. “Is it too late for me to rely on connections now? Just thinking about being able to stand shoulder to shoulder with General Pei makes my blood surge.”

“With your bear-like appearance, don’t go and hurt the general’s eyes.”

Zhou Zhou ignored the increasingly loud discussions behind him and walked slowly towards Pei Yanlie’s office.

Midway, he stopped and raised his arm to sniff himself. A smell of sweat and sourness rushed into his nostrils.

At this moment, the figure walking in front of him caught his attention. “I told you not to come.”

Pei Yanlie walked directly to him, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. He raised his hand and wiped away the sweat remaining on his forehead, disapprovingly saying, “Wipe your sweat with a handkerchief later. It’s getting windy now, and you’ll easily catch a cold.”

“No, that’s too girly.” Zhou Zhou rejected it outright.

He came here to develop his masculinity. It was just sweat. It would just flow. How could he carry a handkerchief with him?

“Alright, you’d rather get sick than lose face, right?” Pei Yanlie raised his hand and grabbed the back of his neck, his voice deep and his eyes darkening.

The skin under his palm was sweaty, reminding him of the scene of sweat dripping last night. He scratched it with his thumb, causing Zhou Zhou to tremble.

“Pei Yanlie, pay attention to the impact. This is a public place.” Zhou Zhou shook his head, his breathing a little rapid.

Pei Yanlie moved his arm down, finally interlocking his fingers with his. “You’re all wet, right? Change your clothes first.”

Zhou Zhou looked at him warily. Seeing that he was acting seriously, he shouldn’t do anything bad, right?

[Pei Yanlie, weren’t you satisfied last night?]

Pei Yanlie’s lips curled up slightly. He tightened his fingers and didn’t answer his words.
