TLCBITAR Chapter 191
by VolareChapter 191: You’re Homophobic?
“Zhou Zhou, don’t keep such a dark face. It’ll make you seem aloof and unapproachable,” Zhou’s mother said with a gentle scolding glance at her son.
Zhou Zhou snapped out of his thoughts, pursed his lips, and forced a dry smile.
He followed Zhou’s mother into the exquisitely decorated, pink-themed restaurant. He immediately spotted a mother and daughter sitting by the window.
The girl turned to look at Zhou Zhou. Her fair face was like a peeled egg, delicate and tender. Her features were refined and petite. A pair of round, black grape-like eyes stared fixedly at Zhou Zhou until he was right in front of her. Then, she immediately averted her gaze, her face flushing red.
She was indeed Zhou Zhou’s type, but at this moment, his heart was completely unmoved.
He parted his lips in a fitting and handsome smile and said slowly, “Auntie, hello. Miss, hello. My name is Zhou Zhou. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
The girl’s eyes darted nervously, seemingly afraid to look at him again. Her voice was soft, glutinous, and sweet: “My name is Lan Mo.”
“Zhou-gege, can we talk for a moment?” Lan Mo asked courageously, her face flushed.
Zhou Zhou was puzzled, but he nodded anyway.
The two mothers consciously sat down to chat, while Lan Mo and Zhou Zhou walked out of the restaurant and stopped in front of the railing, chatting animatedly.
Finally, Zhou Zhou handed her the gift in his hand and said with a smile, “Here, take it. I already bought it.”
Lan Mo chuckled and took the gift. “I’ll transfer the money back to you later. I can’t take your things for free. You’re helping me out right now.”
Zhou Zhou casually leaned against the railing, his eyes slightly narrowed as he looked at the scene in front of him, not taking it to heart. “It’s just a small favor, nothing to mention.”
Inside the restaurant, Zhou’s mother and her best friend whispered to each other.
“Compared to half a year ago, Xiao Zhou has lost a lot of weight.” Lan Mo’s mother looked at the slender figure at the door and sighed.
She and Zhou’s mother were close friends who talked about everything. They had known each other for decades and cared about each other’s children. Naturally, she knew that Zhou Zhou had been unconscious in bed for the past two months.
Zhou’s mother didn’t say the specific reason. Federal Clubhouse regulations prohibited the unauthorized disclosure of any information about those trapped in transmigratory games.
“You see, they’re chatting quite well. Do you think they’ll hit it off?” Zhou’s mother changed the subject.
Lan’s mother said worriedly, “Mo Mo will be nineteen next month. If she still doesn’t have a boyfriend by then, she’ll likely be matched with a man who’s thirty years old. I do hope she and Xiao Zhou can get together.”
Rather than waiting to be matched with an unknown man, it was better to find a man she knew well as soon as possible to establish a relationship and fill out the relevant information at the Federal Marriage Agency.
That way, her daughter could escape the fate of being matched.
Lan Mo walked slowly beside Zhou Zhou, entering the restaurant and said softly, “Zhou Auntie, Mom, Zhou-gege said he’d take me to play on the other floors.”
Zhou’s mother and Lan’s mother exchanged knowing smiles. “Go on, Xiao Zhou. Take care of Mo Mo. If she’s hungry, take her to get something to eat…”
Seeing her mother going on and on, Zhou Zhou said his goodbyes and quickly led the girl away.
Stepping into the elevator, Lan Mo breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, “I’m really troubling you.”
“Since you have someone you like, why don’t you tell her?” Zhou Zhou raised his hand and pressed the button for the first floor, one hand in his pocket, his back leaning against the transparent elevator wall, a hint of curiosity in his eyes.
The smile on Lan Mo’s face gradually disappeared. She said in a muffled voice, “Don’t think my mom’s easy to talk to. She’s quite traditional and can’t accept homosexuality.”
Zhou Zhou looked surprised. “You’re a lesbian?”
“Are you homophobic?” Lan Mo asked.
Zhou Zhou blinked. “A little.”
“We’re not monsters,” Lan Mo muttered.
“Are you just going to keep it from your mom forever?”
Lan Mo lowered her head slightly, her eyes quietly reddening. “When she wakes up, I’ll take her home to meet my parents.”
Zhou Zhou pursed his lips and asked softly, “She’s in a coma?”
“I heard from my mom that you just woke up from a coma too. Was it caused by playing a transmigratory game?”
“She’s a victim?” Zhou Zhou asked tentatively.
“I’m not too sure about the specific reason. She’s still in the Federal Hospital. Only the closest family members are allowed to visit,” Lan Mo said, her voice completely hoarse. Her longing for her girlfriend grew stronger every day, like wild grass, unstoppable.
“I just came back from the Federal Hospital today.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the elevator doors opened.
Zhou Zhou walked out of the elevator in two steps and continued, “You don’t need to ask too much. I don’t know why I was in a coma either.”
“At the time, she and I were playing a transmigratory game. I don’t know what happened, but she suddenly lost connection. I couldn’t contact her optical brain. In a hurry, I rushed to her house and found her unconscious in the game pod,” Lan Mo followed him out of the elevator.
Zhou Zhou had a thoughtful expression. It seemed that Doctor Yao’s words weren’t all nonsense.
He himself had fainted in the game pod and lay there for more than two months.
The two walked out of the Huanxing Skyscraper and onto the bustling pedestrian street, chatting casually.
“Ah!”
Lan Mo was a step behind Zhou Zhou when a tall, burly man with braids suddenly bumped into her shoulder.
“Damn it, what’s the use of being so pretty if you’re blind and can’t see me coming?” The braided man preemptively spoke, with a malicious attitude.
He was slightly shorter than Zhou Zhou, but the blocky muscles on his body were very obvious. He clenched his fist and looked provocatively at Zhou Zhou. “What, you wanna fight… Aww…”
Before he could finish speaking, Zhou Zhou punched him, sending him staggering back a few steps.
The surrounding passersby scattered in an instant, afraid of being implicated.
“Damn it, what do you mean, daring to hit me?! Do you know who I am!” The braided man was so angry that his face was contorted. He clenched his fists, wanting to rush over, but he didn’t quite dare to.
Zhou Zhou raised his eyebrows slightly, smiling but not smiling. “Who do I care who you are? You bumped into someone and didn’t apologize, and you even bit back. Your mouth is so foul, you deserve to be beaten!”
“Okay, you just wait, have the guts to stand here and don’t move!” Seeing more and more onlookers, the braided man covered his swollen cheek and scurried away.
Zhou Zhou rolled his eyes and turned his head to look at Lan Mo. “Let’s go. I’ll take you to catch your ride to the Federal Hospital, right?”
Lan Mo thanked him, her eyes slightly wet.
“I believe she’ll wake up soon. Don’t always frown, it’ll cause wrinkles,” Zhou Zhou glanced at her, speaking bluntly.
Lan Mo got into the hovercar, opened the window, and leaned out her head. “I’ll take your kind words. By the way, I really like this Ocean Heart. The money has already been transferred to your account, remember to check it.”
After she left, Zhou Zhou wondered where to go to have fun.
He opened his optical brain and found a message from a friend on Main Star.
[Little Li: Zhou-ge, where are you?]
[Zhou Zhou: Near the Huanxing Skyscraper.]
[Little Li: Oh, what a coincidence! Hurry up and come up to the 66th floor to play some arcade games. Little Hu and the others are here too. There are so many pretty girls here, hahaha.]
Zhou Zhou’s eyes flickered slightly. Since he had nothing to do anyway and didn’t want to go back to Zhou’s mother, he could only hang out with friends.
