    Chapter 133: No Longer Youthful

Inside the villa’s first-floor dining room, the youthful quintet was no longer youthful, each radiating an air of listlessness and decline.

The dining table was large, and Su Wanxing deliberately kept her distance from Zhou Zhou, as if an unbridgeable chasm had formed between them.

She ate her breakfast absently, her gaze occasionally falling on Zhou Zhou. As if thinking of something, her pupils trembled slightly, and a trace of sympathy appeared in her eyes.

Last night, that man had arrived aggressively, wielding a thick black iron chain, looking as if he was ready to tie Zhou Zhou up. Coupled with the ambiguous sounds of crying she had heard in the middle of the night, a scene suddenly popped into her mind.

Zhou Zhou, entangled in iron chains, being harshly disciplined by a fierce-looking man, unable to escape the man’s constraints no matter how he struggled, resisted, or cried.

Stop, stop, don’t think about it. Luckily, such a cold and ruthless man had taken a fancy to Zhou Zhou; otherwise, with her weak physique, she couldn’t withstand such torment.

Mu Xinyao lay sprawled on the dining table, her round, almond-shaped eyes narrowed into slits, her voice soft and weak, “Did you guys hear any strange noises last night?”

Liu Qian looked listless, as if possessed by a ghost, and said faintly, “I heard them. At four in the morning, I heard creaking sounds coming from the door. I didn’t dare to go out, so I lay on the ground and peeked out through the crack in the door. Guess what I saw?”

However, no one responded. Liu Qian frowned, and said indignantly, “Which idiot was eating at my door in the middle of the night, and even threw some broken biscuits on the ground?”

He stared intently at Zhou Zhou, who was slowly eating his breakfast, and gritted his teeth, “Zhou Zhou, was it you!”

Zhou Zhou raised his eyes to look at him. His pupils were very dark, and the corners of his eyes were red. When he wasn’t speaking, he looked inexplicably unsettling. He grinned, revealing two sharp tiger teeth, and said in a sinister tone, “What do you think?”

Liu Qian slammed his fist on the table and stood up, roaring, “Damn it! It must be you! Is it fun to play tricks?”

“It’s quite fun. I just like to see you scared, hiding in your blanket and crying for your mom and dad,” Zhou Zhou said lazily, leaning back in his chair, a provocative smile on his face.

Liu Qian continued to roar, “Do you really think I can’t do anything to you?”

Seeing Liu Qian clenching his fists, looking as if he was about to punch someone, the others chimed in with complaints.

Mu Xinyao: “Can you stop squawking? It’s so annoying!”

Su Wanxing: “Liu Qian, don’t slander people without any evidence.”

Zhou Zhou: “Your loud voice is really refreshing. The sleep bugs have all been scared away by you.”

Chen Qihang lowered his head and didn’t say anything, silently taking a bite of his steamed bun.

Anyway, Liu Qian didn’t see his sleepwalking, so he wouldn’t admit it.

Originally, he wanted to bring the handcuffs that Qin Yang had given him, but after hesitating for a long time, he ultimately didn’t take them.

Most of the things Qin Yang had given him had been put away. He was waiting for the right time to return them all to the other party.

He had just thought of him this morning when he received a call from him.

Chen Qihang hesitated for a moment, then stood up and walked towards the villa’s courtyard, “Hello?”

“Did you sleep well last night? No sleepwalking?” Qin Yang’s voice was low and gentle, making one’s ears tingle. Chen Qihang unconsciously grabbed the hem of his clothes and lowered his voice to reply, “I slept well. Is there something you need?”

Qin Yang said with a smile, “Manager Zhang and I will be over there later.”

Chen Qihang tensed up, swallowed his saliva, and asked in a low voice, “What are you coming over for? Don’t you have to work?”

Qin Yang said without thinking, “Just passing by to visit the industrial park.”

What a far-fetched reason. What would a veteran employee from the technology department be doing at the industrial park? Don’t think I don’t know what you’re up to.

Chen Qihang remained silent, no longer speaking.

“Hang Hang, wait for me,” Qin Yang chuckled.

Chen Qihang hung up the phone, looking blankly at the phone screen.

After breakfast, Zhang Hui indeed brought Qin Yang over.

The group of five slowly got into the car. Zhou Zhou originally wanted to sit in the passenger seat, but Qin Yang beat him to it.

He whispered in Qin Yang’s ear, “Give me a chance to get close to Hang Hang, give me the passenger seat.”

Qin Yang nodded, generously giving up his seat. He got out of the car and walked around to the back seat, sitting next to Chen Qihang, meeting his tense and wary gaze.

He lowered his voice, “So unwilling?”

Chen Qihang shifted his butt towards the car door, looking somewhat uncomfortable.

To say he was unwilling would hurt Qin Yang’s feelings, but to say he was willing was impossible.

Therefore, he could only keep his mouth shut and not say a word.

Zhang Hui, who was driving, said with a smile, “When we get to the industrial park later, let the company’s top dog in the technology department give you a tour of our company’s new products.”

The others responded with an “Oh,” their enthusiasm not high.

    Zhang Hui: …

What was going on? Logically speaking, shouldn’t they feel honored to have the opportunity to visit Tianchuang Technology Company?

Moreover, they had stayed in a luxury villa last night. What were they dissatisfied with?

He turned his head to look at Zhou Zhou, who was crossing his legs and closing his eyes to rest, and couldn’t help but ask, “Are you Zhou Zhou?”

“Yeah, what’s up?” Zhou Zhou didn’t open his eyes.

Zhang Hui asked seriously, “Do you have any opinions about yesterday’s arrangements?”

Zhou Zhou lifted his eyelids, squinting at the pale gold sunlight outside the window, and asked casually, “Which aspect are you referring to?”

Zhang Hui put on a serious face, “Ahem, when you were at the company, you were all full of energy. How come after staying at the villa, you all look like beaten eggplants?”

Could it be that the villa had been vacant for too long and was haunted?

That villa was Pei’s property. Logically speaking, no ghost should be so blind as to offend the domineering CEO Pei.

He was lost in wild thoughts, and the car gradually began to drift.

Seeing the front of the car getting closer to the flower bed, Zhou Zhou frowned and interrupted his thoughts, “Don’t think too much. We’re all just ordinary people and aren’t used to living in big villas.”

Zhang Hui nodded, “Yeah, you are indeed ordinary people. How could you resist those demons and ghosts.”

    Zhou Zhou: …

Is this Manager Zhang a bit neurotic? Why is he suddenly acting like Pei Yanlie?

Zhang Hui knew that Zhou Zhou was just being perfunctory. The truth of the matter was most likely related to metaphysics.

Pei’s secretary, Jiang Xun’an, had been getting close to him recently, claiming to have visited Pei’s current residence. Pei’s library was filled with all sorts of scriptures, which didn’t seem simple at all, as if he was being haunted by a ghost.

Seeing Zhou Zhou looking at him with an expression that said, “Are you stupid?”, Zhang Hui quickly explained himself clearly.

He also specially emphasized Jiang Xun’an’s character, saying that he and Pei were childhood friends and had a very close relationship, blah blah blah.

As soon as Zhou Zhou heard this, his expression visibly darkened, and he became unhappy.

    Jiang Xun’an?

Never heard of him. Where did this insignificant character come from!

He even went to Pei Yanlie’s house? And even went into his study?

Zhou Zhou crossed his arms around his chest, a dark light surging in his eyes, his teeth grinding with a “creak”.

Su Wanxing twitched her nose, asking suspiciously, “Did you guys smell something sour?”

Mu Xinyao looked around, her gaze sweeping over everyone, “It seems like there is a little bit. Who’s secretly eating lemons?”

Chen Qihang frowned and replied, “I smell it too, but it doesn’t smell like lemons.”

    Qin Yang echoed in agreement.

Liu Qian said directly, “Which idiot is jealous?!”

Zhang Hui sneezed, “My neighbor’s vinegar smell is strong.”

    Zhou Zhou: !!
