Chapter 34: It’s Late, Get Up

“Your Majesty is the Emperor of Yan Country, and I am but a subject. Even if you were to order my death, I wouldn’t dare disobey. Why seek my understanding?”

    Shen Zhejiang suddenly asked.

Seeing that Shen Zhejiang was finally willing to acknowledge him, Xiao Zhinian’s face lit up with a smile. He nuzzled Shen Zhejiang’s neck and said, “Don’t talk nonsense. Shen Zhejiang, can you please not use terms like ‘Your Majesty’ and ‘subject’? There’s no sovereign-subject relationship between us. I know you like me too, don’t deny it anymore.”

    “……”

Shen Zhejiang’s heart suddenly tightened. Could it be that his drunken ramblings from last night had revealed his own shameful thoughts?

“If Teacher doesn’t speak, then it must be true.”

As soon as the words fell, Xiao Zhinian suddenly lifted the quilt, supported himself with his hand, and flipped to the inside, directly facing Shen Zhejiang. He rested his head on one hand, joy written all over his face.

    “What are you doing?”

Shen Zhejiang moved back in surprise, and Xiao Zhinian quickly hugged him.

Having confirmed Shen Zhejiang’s feelings, Xiao Zhinian was clearly bolder than before. He took Shen Zhejiang’s hand and guided it to touch the bruises and teeth marks of varying depths that covered his chest.

It was obvious how intense last night had been.

“These are what you left on me. I like them very much, Shen Zhejiang. In this life, I only want you.”

He continued upwards to his neck, which was covered in marks that would be difficult to fade for a while.

Shen Zhejiang’s face flushed red, as if he was burned. Even every fingertip that brushed against Xiao Zhinian’s skin felt hot, and his ears were incredibly red.

    “Non…Nonsense!”

    He was completely flustered.

He abruptly pulled his hand back, but the warmth remained.

He didn’t know if it was because of Xiao Zhinian’s actions or because of his blatant, candid words.

Xiao Zhinian chuckled, and with his free hand, he brushed aside the hair at Shen Zhejiang’s temples and smiled, “Teacher looks so beautiful when he’s embarrassed. I can never get enough of it.”

His bright eyes reflected Shen Zhejiang, and could hold nothing else, not even a speck of dust.

Shen Zhejiang looked away, unwilling to continue being entangled in these sweet words. Seeing the bright sunlight outside the window, he quickly changed the subject, “It’s late, get up.”

Almost without hesitation, he turned over and sat up, but forgot that his body was still sore. As soon as he sat up, a tearing pain shot through his limbs. Shen Zhejiang sharply sucked in a breath.

    “Hiss!”

Seeing this, Xiao Zhinian’s expression changed slightly. He also scrambled up, his voice filled with urgency, “Be careful!”

Shen Zhejiang turned his head to glare at him, as if saying, “It’s all your fault.”

Xiao Zhinian touched his nose. It was indeed his doing, but Shen Zhejiang had clearly seduced him first yesterday. The words reached his lips, but he didn’t dare say them, and could only keep them bottled up in his heart, feeling wronged.

He didn’t want to upset Shen Zhejiang again. If Shen Zhejiang ignored him, it would be over.

Shen Zhejiang endured the aching muscles and bones, picked up the pile of scattered clothes on the floor, and flipped through them twice, but couldn’t find his own clothes. He was puzzled.

Xiao Zhinian scratched the top of his head, took out the pile of torn clothes from the edge of the bed, and said embarrassedly, “Teacher’s clothes were too complicated, I couldn’t untie them, and I was a bit hasty, so I tore them all up.”

Then, afraid that Shen Zhejiang would be angry with him, he immediately added, “I’ll compensate you!”

Shen Zhejiang supported his forehead with his hand.

He really didn’t know what to say.

As a result, Xiao Zhinian had the servants from Chun Yi Lou buy two sets of new clothes. When the servant knocked on the door, Xiao Zhinian stuck out a hand, snatched the clothes, and handed out a silver note.

    “Thank you, guest!”

With the money in hand, the servant happily assured Xiao Zhinian that he would never tell anyone.

Xiao Zhinian slammed the door shut and took the clothes to Shen Zhejiang, who was huddled in a ball under the covers on the bed. “Teacher is having trouble moving, let me help you get dressed.”

Shen Zhejiang covered himself tightly, almost hiding his head as well. He stopped him, “No need, put them down, I can do it myself.”

    “Okay.”

Since Shen Zhejiang had spoken, Xiao Zhinian had no choice but to comply, no matter how unwilling he was.

The clothes were placed neatly on the edge of the bed.

A hand reached out. Shen Zhejiang noticed that Xiao Zhinian was still hesitant and looking at him. His face immediately tightened like a string, and he said sternly, “Turn around.”

“What part of Teacher’s body haven’t I seen? I…okay,” receiving Shen Zhejiang’s warning gaze, Xiao Zhinian honestly turned his back and stood in place, chattering incessantly, “If Teacher feels inconvenienced, I can still lend a hand. Teacher, don’t dislike me, I can also take care of people…”

    “Shut up.”

Last night was fine, he could use the excuse of being drunk to cover it up. But in broad daylight, naked in front of Xiao Zhinian, where would he put his face?

While thinking, Shen Zhejiang put on the last piece of clothing. At the end, he even tidied his collar in front of the bronze mirror, looking refined and aloof as snow.

Xiao Zhinian had been listening for sounds behind him, and felt that the time was about right. He said, “Teacher is dressed. Let’s go eat something, still at Sesa Tower, how about it?”

    “Did you catch the person?”

It seemed that Shen Zhejiang had not forgotten the main event.

Xiao Zhinian replied, “Huai Wu is skilled. If we use the gimmick of the courtesan to lure the person out, we will definitely catch him.”

Just then, there was a knock on the window lattice.

    “Knock, knock!”

The two looked over at the same time, only to see Huai Wu politely knocking on the window, as if asking Xiao Zhinian if he could come in.

Xiao Zhinian said, “Speak your mind.”

Huai Wu still couldn’t come in, so he said by the window, “The person has been caught, he’s in the next room. This subordinate was afraid of disturbing Your Majesty and Shen Zhejiang’s good time, so I only came to report now.”

So, Huai Wu had been there the whole time.

Then, wouldn’t everything that happened between Xiao Zhinian and him be known completely?

Shen Zhejiang’s face turned red. He pretended to be calm and said, “Go take a look.”

Then he fled in a hurry, as if some demon was chasing him. Xiao Zhinian looked at Shen Zhejiang’s fleeing figure and inexplicably found it a bit funny, and followed Shen Zhejiang’s footsteps.

It was just a few steps away.

Pushing open the door, they were met with a person tied up on the floor, wriggling like a worm, with a wad of cloth stuffed in his mouth, making muffled, unclear noises.

And by the bed stood a woman in brightly colored clothes. Shen Zhejiang found her somewhat familiar. Looking closely, he realized it was Han Weiwei.

He said in surprise, “Miss Han, what is it you doing here?”

    “Greetings, Shen Zhejiang.”

Han Weiwei had been organizing her father’s funeral these days, and looked very tired. She had applied several layers of makeup to cover the fatigue on her face, but her appearance was no different from the ladies of Chun Yi Lou.

Xiao Zhinian came out from behind Shen Zhejiang and explained, “She’s now the star of Chun Yi Lou.”

    Hearing this, Shen Zhejiang understood.
