Qi Feiyu woke up and realized he was in his Uncle Lin’s room, which felt alarmingly unfamiliar. First, he ruled out the possibility that Lin Qichi had brought him in. Second, he ruled out the possibility that a servant had mistakenly placed him there. Finally, he figured he should just wash up and prepare for execution.

Qi Feiyu lingered in bed for a long time, afraid to get out. Lin Qichi tidied up downstairs for just as long, too lazy to go up. They were perfectly in sync.

In the end, Qi Feiyu went downstairs first, after taking a shower in his own room.

Fortunately, he hadn’t slept all the way through the day. It was only eleven o’clock after he finished washing up. Estimating that Lin Qichi hadn’t slept yet at this hour, he tiptoed downstairs, ready to test the waters.

Lin Qichi was sitting on the sofa, reading a newspaper from who-knows-when. The table was a mess of scattered items. Seeing Qi Feiyu finally come down, he casually greeted him, “Do you have class today?”

The “Extremism Meter,” which had only glitched once, suddenly popped up again. Even though it had been confirmed that the page on the ring couldn’t be seen by others, having something suddenly pop up still easily triggered a startle.

Lin Qichi: ? This was just a polite inquiry about tomorrow’s schedule.

Qi Feiyu very consciously went to clean up the after-dinner desserts that Lin Qichi hadn’t had time to clear away, even though he hadn’t eaten anything yet. “I have a class in the afternoon, and a meeting to attend in the evening.”

Lin Qichi instructed the servants to bring up the meal that was remade for Qi Feiyu, had him sit down, and felt increasingly sorry for him the more he looked at him.

“Then go back at noon, stay a little longer.”

Qi Feiyu accepted his meal, which didn’t seem to be reheated. He was momentarily touched by his Uncle Lin’s thoughtfulness.

    Lin Qichi: Poor child.

Qi Feiyu quickly addressed his eating needs, shoveling down a few bites and feeling like he had finally come back to life. Only then did he look up at Lin Qichi and say, “Thank you, Uncle Lin.” He then lowered his head again to continue eating. From preparing for the meeting onwards, he really hadn’t eaten all day. In the face of food, this hunger was even more unbearable.

“Eat slowly, don’t rush.” Seeing him wolfing it down like this, Lin Qichi knew that he had been terribly ravaged by the wretched work. He couldn’t help but feel even more empathetic and sympathetic.

“Mm.” Qi Feiyu looked up for a moment, very obediently slowing down his pace. Having already eaten some, he wasn’t extremely hungry now.

After finishing his meal, Qi Feiyu elegantly wiped the corners of his mouth and asked Lin Qichi, “Uncle Lin, have you not been busy lately?”

“Well,” Lin Qichi didn’t know what to say. Although the host had already completed the major tasks recently, he himself couldn’t stay idle and had found some things to do, while also expanding the development space of the surface company. After a moment’s consideration, he continued, “I haven’t been too busy lately. I plan to spend a few days with you. Are things busy at school?”

Hearing the last sentence, Qi Feiyu felt like he was about to burst into tears. He restrained himself from being too uncomposed, but the inner grievance and pain did not make him feel better. Even with suppression and restraint, he still couldn’t hide the grievance and pitifulness on his face.

Lin Qichi had originally wanted to suggest that he try working at the company, but the pitiful gaze made him swallow the words back.

He clearly wouldn’t have been moved in the slightest by even the most tragic scenes back in the Infinite Flow World. Was this, as expected, the mutual sympathy and empathy between fellow working stiffs?

Lin Qichi couldn’t help but reach out to pat Qi Feiyu’s head to comfort him, but he stopped halfway, suddenly remembering that Qi Feiyu had just woken up. Then Qi Feiyu suddenly brought his face closer. Before Lin Qichi could retract his hand, there was suddenly a head under his hand?

Since it had come to this, Lin Qichi casually pinched his cheek and patted him lightly before retracting his hand. “You like to be babied when you’re tired.”

Qi Feiyu simply stopped pretending. That pitiful look of being miserably exploited just hung on that handsome face. Even his voice carried a complaining tone of grievance: “Uncle Lin.”

With that little look, Lin Qichi felt that if he said he wanted Lin Qichi to buy the school and make him the dean, directly jumping from the exploited class to the exploiting class, he would be willing to do it.

No wonder the host doted on him so much; he was too good at being spoiled. This was completely different from the definition of a villain he had just searched for. Was he randomly pulled in to make up the numbers as a pitiful working stiff?

“Alright, stop being spoiled. You chose this position yourself, you have to fulfill your duties even if you’re crying.”

Qi Feiyu: “Uncle Lin, I’m really going to cry for you to see.”

Qi Feiyu still had a sullen face, looking pitiful.

Lin Qichi repeatedly searched through the host’s memories. Was this how this kid usually was? These two were too close. It felt strange. Qi Feiyu seemed to be deliberately acting.

“I’m really tired, Uncle Lin.” As Qi Feiyu spoke, he leaned closer to Lin Qichi.

The more Lin Qichi searched, the more shocking it became, especially with the accompaniment of Qi Feiyu’s complaining voice beside him. As expected, the toil of a working stiff would change a person’s character. He was clearly an independent type who still maintained a sense of distance even with his only beloved Uncle Lin before.

He felt even more affection for Qi Feiyu. Qi Feiyu leaned over completely, and fearing that he would hit something, Lin Qichi hurriedly reached out to support him. But Qi Feiyu suddenly smiled in his arms. “You’re not actually Uncle Lin, are you?”

Lin Qichi was temporarily dazed by his question. Not wanting to think anymore, he directly asked, “Is the food not to your taste?”

Qi Feiyu looked at him deeply before climbing out of his arms.

Scanning the content on his face, Lin Qichi felt even stranger. The retirement life in the Infinite Flow World had made him increasingly unwilling to use his brain. He directly tossed the question to Qi Feiyu. “Say what you have to say directly. Don’t beat around the bush. I don’t want to have to guess your thoughts.”

Qi Feiyu’s eyes darkened because of his unexpected words as he pondered something. Suddenly, he gave Lin Qichi a bright smile. “Uncle Lin, accompany me to school for a few days tomorrow. Anyway, you have shares in it, so you should be able to stay for a few days, right?”

Lin Qichi was even more confused by this sudden change. “What? Have you been wronged and finally come to find your guardian?”

Qi Feiyu boldly pounced directly into Lin Qichi’s arms. Because he had grown so big, he didn’t quite make it into his arms, instead knocking them both over. This caused a flurry of panic, and Lin Qichi suppressed himself for a long time before he managed to not slap him away.

That audacious person even dared to continue leaning on Lin Qichi’s sides, saying unrestrainedly, “Uncle Lin, I’m really tired. Will you live with me?”

If he hadn’t seen the serious look on Qi Feiyu’s face, hadn’t smelled alcohol on him, and hadn’t had the Lin family’s servants thoroughly vetted multiple times, Lin Qichi would have thought he had food/alcohol poisoning or a sudden illness that caused mental confusion.
