SCWP Chapter 14

Mirror World
Lin Qichi’s first reaction upon hearing Qi Feiyu’s name was still: How did he sneak out again?
Lin Qichi decided to go and take a look first, essentially retracing his steps.
“Hey, Mister, please wait a moment.”
Lin Qichi turned to look. It was an old man, but it was too dark to make out his features.
“Is there something I can do for you?” Lin Qichi didn’t have much respect for old men, considering he himself didn’t know how old he was. If you really calculated it, he might be several cycles older than the man.
Seeing Lin Qichi stop, the old man hurried over, his body unsteady. When he ran faster, his left foot was heavy and his right foot light, revealing a limp. However, his clothes were decent, the fabric high-quality, so he didn’t seem like a vagrant.
The old man nervously approached Lin Qichi and said, “The person sleeping next to you will become a vengeful ghost and destroy the entire world. Only you… only you…”
Lin Qichi patiently listened to the old man’s ramblings. In this day and age, the elderly with Alzheimer’s should carry contact information for their families.
Lin Qichi scanned the old man up and down, but before he could find any clues, he was already hearing the old man’s curses.
“Heh, your life is also coming to an end. There’s no saving you.”
Faced with the sudden curse, Lin Qichi didn’t argue with him. Instead, he maintained a proper smile.
The old man thought more highly of him for that, hoping to persuade whoever he could. He said, “Withdraw now. There’s still time.”
“I appreciate your concern, but I’ll be fine.” Lin Qichi smiled and supported the old man, already treating him like a pitiful old codger with dementia.
Seeing his stubbornness, the old man seemed to have suddenly lost the “abandonment” he should have learned. Shaking his head, he refused Lin Qichi’s support and limped away, looking like he was walking even more laboriously than when they first met.
Finally getting the man off his back, Lin Qichi strode back to the alley he’d just come from. The main person was already gone, leaving only a few clueless thugs.
Lin Qichi found a spare phone and called his subordinates to lock these people up first.
After arriving home, Lin Qichi didn’t go in through the front door. He went around to the back of the main building, guessing that Qi Feiyu would return to his room to sleep, and climbed up from his own building.
The night was dark, with only a few stars willing to adorn the evening sky, sparsely scattered here and there, clustered around the crescent moon hanging on the treetop.
Although he was coming through the window, Lin Qichi symbolically called out, “Xiaoyu, I’m coming in.”
Unexpectedly… no one was there.
Lin Qichi confirmed that this was the room they shared. Could it be that Qi Feiyu didn’t sleep here?
Lin Qichi pushed open the door and saw the housekeeper who was guarding outside, asking, “Where is the Mister…?”
“Bang–thud.”
Lin Qichi and the housekeeper simultaneously turned to look at the window where the noise came from.
Well, no need to ask anymore.
“You can go now.” Lin Qichi said to the housekeeper.
Qi Feiyu, who had just climbed in through the window, looked embarrassed, hesitating whether to listen to him and climb back down.
The housekeeper gave Qi Feiyu a look that said, “Good luck to you,” and quietly retreated.
It really wasn’t that he didn’t keep watch. He genuinely didn’t expect that both the Mister and the Mistress liked to come through the window.
Left alone, Qi Feiyu had to climb back in again, saying cautiously, “Uncle Lin, what a coincidence.”
Unknown to many, Qi Feiyu hadn’t called him “Uncle Lin” in a long time. The only times he would call him that was when he had done something wrong and felt guilty.
Lin Qichi asked with a stern face, “Where did you go?”
Qi Feiyu was so frightened by his words that he shrunk back to the windowsill, his eyes widening as he looked at him. The moonlight was full, shining through the open window and into Qi Feiyu’s eyes, his pupils shimmering with starlight. On closer inspection, he realized it was just the light from the blurred lights reflecting off the tears.
Perfect, the effect was ruined in three seconds.
Resignedly, Lin Qichi walked forward and pulled Qi Feiyu down from the windowsill, not daring to show even a hint of anger.
“Baby, crying won’t solve the problem. Don’t cry, okay?”
Lin Qichi ached for him, wiping away his tears. He wouldn’t reason and wouldn’t listen to advice, so he could only spoil and protect him every day. If he raised his voice even a little, he would cause a scene.
“Why did you come into my room?” Qi Feiyu decided to counterattack, knowing Lin Qichi would indulge him anyway.
Lin Qichi was at a loss for words. He couldn’t say that he’d run into him fighting in an alley in the middle of the night and had even helped clean up the mess. Experience told him that if he told the truth, he wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.
It seemed they had more and more secrets between them.
Qi Feiyu still had tears in the corners of his eyes, and dried blood was smeared on his chin, but he didn’t seem to notice.
Taking advantage of their tear-wiping movements, Lin Qichi casually wiped the dirt off Qi Feiyu’s face, coaxing him as he carried him into the bathroom to wash up.
Both of them had climbed through the window, so they were bound to be dirty. He would also wash away the blood on Qi Feiyu’s body.
Lin Qichi scrubbed Qi Feiyu’s body, and as soon as Qi Feiyu touched him, he started acting up, “Hubby, are you disgusted with me?”
“Baby, don’t move around. You’ll get it in your eyes, and you’ll feel uncomfortable again.” Lin Qichi straightened Qi Feiyu, carefully protecting his face because his hands were wet, preventing Qi Feiyu from getting splashed in the eyes again.
Every time they were honest with each other, Qi Feiyu became especially clingy, sticking to him like glue. It was fine at other times, but it was a nightmare when they were bathing together. He was already precious, but he wouldn’t cooperate properly.
By the time Lin Qichi finished cleaning Qi Feiyu, Qi Feiyu had fallen asleep while still making a fuss. Lin Qichi gently placed Qi Feiyu on the bed, made sure he was covered with the quilt, and went to charge his phone.
He set it to silent and watched the recorded video over and over again.
Besides Ye Chenxi and En Sihan, there must be other people around them. Maybe one of his enemies had hooked up with those two.
He himself was fine, but if Qi Feiyu was involved, he would definitely nip them in the bud, even if he had to use some unconventional means.
When Lin Qichi watched it for the third time, he finally made a comparison. When Ye Chenxi and En Sihan exchanged folders with Qi Tiansheng, they simultaneously changed their postures.
Ye Chenxi put down the hand that had been resting on the table and placed it on his lap. En Sihan’s change was even more obvious. She accidentally brushed against a cup in her panic, knocking it against her skirt, but her subconscious action wasn’t to avoid it, but to catch the cup before it fell.
And the act of placing the cup down was even more intriguing.
It wasn’t a polite, gentle placement, but an almost fearful one, setting the cup down little by little along the edge.
Someone, or something, was monitoring them at that moment, and they were aware of it.
Someone who made even Ye Chenxi so cautious wasn’t there to deal with Qi Feiyu, they were looking for him.
After sorting out the clues, Lin Qichi glanced at his bedmate’s sleeping posture before going to bed, which was as serene and peaceful as his name implied.
Qi Feiyu, how could he be a non-corner? He should obviously be the corner of my heart, a place of peace and contentment.
Lin Qichi gently left a goodnight kiss on Qi Feiyu’s lips, hugged him tighter, and fell asleep contentedly.
Qi Feiyu quietly opened his eyes and silently watched Lin Qichi all night without sleep.
After that day, Lin Qichi ordered his subordinates to find the old man who didn’t sleep in the middle of the night and haunted the bars, but there wasn’t a single clue. It was as if he had appeared out of nowhere, just to curse him.
Qi Feiyu also almost finished his work at school, and the holidays came in the blink of an eye.
Qi Feiyu suggested going on a trip, but Lin Qichi had a headache over the “Extremism Meter” that hadn’t moved at all.
Unable to resist Qi Feiyu’s coaxing, Lin Qichi formulated a travel route filled with questions. They only thought it was a pre-wedding honeymoon.
“Lin Qichi, I’m begging you, don’t leave me.”
Qi Feiyu was lying on Lin Qichi, sobbing uncontrollably, clutching Lin Qichi’s shirt in his hand. The hot tears fell down, as if they were going to punch a deep hole in the ground.
In his blurred consciousness, Lin Qichi heard the voice of the “Extremism Meter.”
[Villain Extremism Index Statistics]
Villain Extremism Value: 0
Decrease Index: 100
Number of Decreases: 10
Accumulated Decrease Index: 198
Increase Index: 0
Number of Increases: 4
Accumulated Increase Index: 108
Lin Qichi thought: What? Has all the extremism been converted into sadness?
Lin Qichi wanted to reach out and touch Qi Feiyu one last time, wanting him not to be so sad. But the clearer his consciousness became, the stronger he felt the sense of rejection between himself and the world.
Just like that, Lin Qichi consciously returned to the system space.
A vast expanse of pure white, along with the voice of System 047, which he didn’t know where it was coming from.
047’s excited voice roamed around the entire system space: “Host! What exactly did you do? The fluctuations in the Extremism Meter are so huge!”
Lin Qichi sat on the sofa with his hands crossed and clasped, still unable to believe that at the moment he left the world, he had died so suddenly? Shot to death by someone who suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
Moreover, he clearly sensed that at the moment when he could have protected Qi Feiyu and dodged, his body suddenly uncontrollably turned in front of Qi Feiyu, the angle so precise that his heart caught that bullet.
Lin Qichi looked at the space in front of him that had no focus points and couldn’t help but ask, “047, can I change this place? I feel like I’m going to get snow blindness.”
Having survived in the Infinite Flow World for so long, controlling his mental power was a piece of cake for Lin Qichi. The system space moved with Lin Qichi’s thoughts, slowly transforming into the living room of Qi Feiyu’s dormitory at school.
“Host, is this just your rest area in the Infinite Flow?” 047 slowly rubbed against Lin Qichi’s side. Its years of experience in accompanying hosts told it that this host could definitely lead it to the top of the performance chart.
After all, he’d come out of a small world in less than a year. No matter how you looked at it, it was a rare sight.
Lin Qichi didn’t like any small, furry things and silently moved away a little.
047 didn’t understand emotions, but it had data analysis. Its host was disliking it.
047 stabilized its data and said without a trace of fluctuation, “Host, due to your good performance in the last world, the main system wants to assign you to help in this world’s Mirror World.”
“What do you mean? Mirror World?”
Lin Qichi now felt like someone had suddenly closed a door on him. In the pitch-black room, there was another place where a ray of light suddenly shone through.
