PMWAIAAPM Chapter 60
by VolareChapter 60: What Should He Do
Before getting on the plane, Tan Zhiyu was seriously reading the comments on the posts.
For some reason, he suddenly felt uncertain about his face for the first time in his life. He was afraid that Xing Yang would lose interest in him. Some said that love is the biggest game of reducing intelligence in life, making people a bit dazed in the sweetness.
“I’m on my way to the company, handling some matters. I’ll come find you once I’m done,” Xing Yang softly reassured Tan Zhiyu, who was anxious about their brief separation.
Tan Zhiyu had sunk deep into the business class sofa: “Make sure to go to the hospital if you’re not feeling well, and let me know…”
“I understand.”
Xing Yang reminded him that it was raining in Hai Cheng and that he had already booked a room with a fireplace, urging him to hurry back to the hotel to rest after getting off the plane, no need to waste energy on phone calls.
To finish filming and return sooner, Tan Zhiyu instructed his agent to fill his schedule, compressing the original month-long shoot into just two weeks, which was a heavy workload, especially since there were many action scenes in the film that would tire him out.
After hanging up, Song Tian had already driven the car to the company building’s entrance.
Several black SUVs were parked downstairs, with half-open doors propping up cameras. Song Tian glanced inside the window, and then steered the wheel towards the underground parking of another building.
“These people have been lurking around lately; they probably won’t leave until they see you,” Song Tian explained.
Xing Yang rubbed his temples: “That’s their job; it’s not easy for anyone.”
“Lurking at the entrance is damaging…”
It’s damaging the reputation of Yuan Yin Real Estate. Recently, aside from the initial stock crash caused by the gossip, the stock has slowly been recovering. It’s not only because of Tan Zhiyu’s Weibo, but also because Xing Yang took the opportunity to create momentum, especially after launching more favorable presale tickets for Star Sea Amusement Park. Although people criticized, no one would miss out on a better price for the experience.
As they say, bad publicity is still publicity. In this storm, aside from Xing Yang’s damaged reputation, almost everything else within the company remained stable.
“You understand them, but who understands you…” Song Tian looked at Xing Yang with concern; he had lost some weight these days.
Xing Yang was only a month pregnant, and his appetite hadn’t changed much yet, but he could feel a constant dull ache in his lower abdomen.
The walls of his reproductive cavity were too thin, so when the fetus began to grow inside him, he would feel it very clearly.
Not long after Tan Zhiyu left, without the presence of an alpha pheromone, he did feel a bit uneasy, as if the air around him was heavier and breathing slightly more difficult.
“Aren’t you already quite understanding of me?” Xing Yang smiled, ruffling Song Tian’s hair as he got out of the car.
Song Tian silently followed him, a lingering sadness in his eyes.
When they went upstairs, the employees of the company would nod and say hello to CEO Xing, but this time, unlike before, they would curiously look back.
Outside the company building, a new advertisement board had been changed, showcasing the new film that was invested in by Xing Yang and the brand endorsed by Tan Zhiyu, blatantly displayed at the facade of Yuan Yin Real Estate.
“The gossip about CEO Xing and Tan Zhiyu is all over the place, our company even specially replaced the ad with Tan Zhiyu’s, wasn’t that intentional?”
“Of course! CEO Xing is grasping every opportunity to make money; the real estate industry isn’t doing well lately. Perhaps he can take this chance to completely transform? Who knows—it’s hard to guess what the boss is thinking.”
“Right, it seems our company hasn’t launched any new real estate projects in the capital since Butterfly Manor? Is CEO Xing really investing in media? Will our name change to Yuan Yin Media in the future?”
“Who can say for sure?”
When the elevator reached the top floor, the CEO’s office, Xing Yang habitually extended his hand to pass his briefcase. Secretary Wang took it and handed him documents for signing: “These are the partners we are preparing to renew contracts with. Qihang Design and Huaxin Technology are not planning to continue cooperation and are preparing new bids.”
Xing Yang nodded; he had always recognized Secretary Wang’s competence.
Secretary Wang then took the signed file and hesitated to speak.
“What’s wrong?”
“Someone is waiting in your office.”
Secretary Wang’s expression looked a bit unpleasant; normally, entry to the CEO’s office required facial recognition. Xing Yang asked, “Tan Yushen?”
Secretary Wang shook his head: “Never cooperated with us before, never seen, very unfamiliar, but he has the assistant Tan brought last time by his side.”
“Oh.” Xing Yang nodded, roughly understanding who it was.
As soon as the office door opened, a few bodyguards in black met the eye. Even inside, they wore sunglasses, creating a strangely exaggerated and comical scene. Among several men, a woman sat on a leather sofa, leisurely sipping coffee.
The woman was quite well-maintained, showing some wrinkles at the corners of her eyes despite her age. She wore simple work attire, yet her demeanor exuded a high-and-mighty aura, almost identical to Tan Yushen.
“This coffee seems not to suit your taste; is it too sour?” Xing Yang set down the documents and gave Secretary Wang a glance, signaling him to leave first.
“It’s not easy to meet you; should I call you CEO Xing?” The woman raised her finely shaped brows.
Xing Yang’s expression remained neutral, merely smiling politely: “Feel free; anything is fine.”
Even without her speaking, he could guess who this woman was based on her striking resemblance to Tan Zhiyu.
Fiona, the current German Deputy Foreign Minister, Tan Zhiyu’s biological mother, was someone Xing Yang had never seen in international news. To be honest, this was his first time meeting Tan Zhiyu’s mother; he had never searched for any information about her on TV before.
Moreover, Tan Zhiyu had once mentioned that his mother was very busy and had barely any time to accompany him growing up. Even for birthdays, he had only sought his father, never his mother.
Because he knew that even if he went to find her, he might not meet her. Even as a biological son, seeing his own mother might require an appointment.
It was quite shocking for someone as busy as this woman to come all the way to meet him.
Fiona smiled and said something in German to the two bodyguards beside her, asking them to leave first, before continuing.
“I think I don’t need to introduce myself.”
Fiona flirtatiously flipped her hair, her lips curling into a smile, full of politeness but lacking warmth, even suggesting a hint of detachment: “I think we need to talk.”
“My time is very precious; I won’t linger on this matter too much, and I’m not interested in the two of you. It’s a very simple matter: you two aren’t a match.”
Xing Yang: “We’re not children here; we can take responsibility for our actions. If you’re very busy, I can help you take care of Zhiyu.”
“Is that so?” Fiona chuckled lightly, setting down her coffee cup.
It landed on the coffee table with a crisp sound, almost like a warning bell ringing in someone’s heart.
“Zhiyu’s marriage, at least, you both never consulted us about it. Moreover, his father’s company’s stocks have recently plummeted. The public evaluation is quite poor, but I understand you. After all, it’s not easy for a self-made omega to hold on to a cash cow, especially since you genuinely like my son.”
Xing Yang clearly understood that this visitor was not friendly.
In fact, both he and Tan Yushen were businessmen. In the business world, advantage and disadvantage coexist, and everything can be resolved with money, but Fiona’s status was different.
When Tan Yushen was in the late stages of starting his business and ventured into international trade, Fiona was his true backer. Even though the two had long been divorced, their interactions in politics and business, along with the public image they had crafted over many years, would forever bind them together.
A woman with skills, calmness, and clarity often served as the navigator of a family.
In front of her, Xing Yang felt like an ant. It would be easy for her to bring down his company, just like the recent heavily publicized suicide case of Cui Yu, causing the entire group to be investigated again by the tax authorities.
“A patient with ALS, in order to survive, underwent gland implantation. Life hasn’t been easy for you these years, has it?”
Xing Yang’s breathing gradually slowed, and the cheerfulness in his eyes faded completely because the gland implantation surgery was completely illegal in the country. He was the first human experimental subject, and the entire surgical process was kept confidential, with very few people aware of it.
Every word Fiona spoke was concise and gentle yet carried different implications.
“What do you want to say?”
Fiona didn’t give him another chance to speak, only pulling out a stack of documents from the briefcase beside her: “There are very few gland donors in the country; where did the gland in your neck come from?”
“I heard your illness has relapsed again. Removing the gland and replacing it with a new one seems to be your only way to prolong your life. CEO Xing is a businessman; I believe you understand what I mean, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gone all the way to Switzerland for surgery back then.”
The gland is the most important organ in the human body. If an omega loses the support of the gland, it can lead to severe organ failure or even death.
There are explicit bans on organ trafficking both domestically and internationally because removing a gland from one person to another effectively means trading lives.
“Trafficking in gland organs? Wow, this crime would reportedly carry a sentence of over ten years in this country. CEO Xing, I wonder if your body can survive until then?”
Xing Yang clenched his fists, even turning pale at his knuckles. In the woman’s subtly smiling demeanor, he only felt an overwhelming chill.
“But I have a gland here that is over 90% compatible with you. If you divorce Zhiyu and leave him, I will have Tan Yushen buy your shares, and you will get a normal dividend according to market rates. Living a dignified and secure life in the latter half of your life is far easier than dying in prison, isn’t it?”
“Otherwise, tell me, if you go to prison, what will happen to Zhiyu? He would be the subject of everyone’s gossip. He loves acting so much, do you want to become the only blemish on his life?”
