    Chapter 37

Xing Yang was not a man who knew how to sweet-talk or console others; he was far less emotional than Mr. Tan.

The top floor of Yuan Yin Real Estate housed the president’s office and the boardroom, with a layer below dedicated to document binding where very few people were present. Xing Yang preferred it to be quieter.

Song Tian prepared a cup of coffee and stood at the secretary’s desk waiting for Mr. Xing’s arrival.

He was an omega; very few omegas could serve as a president’s secretary, but Song Tian was an exception. He was young, having graduated from college two years ago, and had a clean appearance with a meticulous mind. His grandfather was in critical condition at the hospital, and the high surgical costs and subsequent medication treatments had left the omega gasping for breath. In his junior year, he had been mocked and toyed with in a business KTV while dressed in very little fabric.

Xing Yang saved him. He was a man who had gone through hardships and could not bear to see a young, clean soul wallowing in muck, so he brought him to work at Yuan Yin as his second secretary, covering all of Song Tian’s family’s medical expenses and providing him with a good salary.

Song Tian admired Mr. Xing greatly; he even dreamed of one day replacing Secretary Wang, becoming the left-hand man standing by this man’s side.

“Mr. Xing, your international express delivery has arrived.”

Song Tian stood up and handed the package to him.

Xing Yang nodded, taking it from his hand with his broad palm. The moment they touched, Song Tian felt like he had been electrocuted and froze: “You look a bit tired. Do you need to rest? Shall I get you a glass of juice?”

“I haven’t been coming here much lately, and Secretary Wang has been handling the documents. You’ve been busy with all the tedious matters on your own, you’ve worked hard.”

Song Tian was a bit shorter than him, and his pheromones were sweet, befitting an omega.

Xing Yang ruffled his soft hair, a hint of a smile appearing in his usually indifferent eyes. The mature man had a few shallow laugh lines at the corners of his eyes, and his dry, broad palm caressed Song Tian like a small rabbit, making him feel unexpectedly flattered.

He shook his head, a smile unconsciously curling at the corners of his lips, blooming brightly: “How could that be… it’s what I should do.”

Xing Yang sipped his coffee and prepared to tear open the express package. It was an international package sent from Switzerland, just arrived that morning.

Even as Song Tian casually handed over the scissors, he asked, “Is it from the hospital in Switzerland? Are you traveling again next month?”

    “Hmm,” Xing Yang nodded.

Xing Yang used to travel abroad every few months, but the recent collaboration between the newly opened hospital in Switzerland and the Jiang family changed that, turning his trips from once every three months to once a month. He never took a secretary with him on these trips.

    “What’s this…”

The bottles in the package were marked in English; they were just nutritional supplements. Song Tian watched him pour nearly a handful of pills and swallow them directly: “Mr. Xing…”

“Just vitamins. It seems one has to pay attention to their health as they age.”

He was only twenty-eight; how could he be old.

Song Tian stared at him in a daze, nervously swallowing, and when Xing Yang was about to leave, he called out to him: “Even vitamins should be taken in moderation; medicine can be harmful.”

Xing Yang turned around and gazed into Song Tian’s eyes, reading a lot from his expression. He shook the bottle in his hand: “Do you recognize this?”

“The bottle is unfamiliar, but my grandfather used to take those… orange pills,” he replied in a daze.

Song Tian had a good memory; even though his grandfather had many illnesses, he needed to remember the color and characteristics of each medicine: “This is for treating…”

Xing Yang pressed his lips together and smiled slightly, appearing somewhat helpless. He had not expected someone would recognize it. He had truly been careless, forgetting that Secretary Song was the most meticulous child. He interrupted his words: “Shh.”

He walked over to Song Tian and said softly: “So this will be our little secret from now on, okay?”

On the man, there was only the faint scent of omega ebony, yet Song Tian thought that was poison enticing him.

His heart couldn’t help but race for this elegant gentleman. His mind hadn’t fully processed Xing Yang’s words, but his body had already reacted, nodding: “Okay, okay.”

“Next week, come with me on the business trip to Switzerland, and let Secretary Wang book your tickets.”

Song Tian squeezed his palm, confirming this wasn’t a dream, and slowly nodded: “Okay.”

He looked at Mr. Xing’s ring finger, which had always been empty, never wearing even a single ring. Would such an excellent man care about gender?

Inside the office, Xing Yang set down the documents, and his phone rang. Seeing that string of numbers made his head ache a bit.

    “Hello.”

“Xing Yang! You’re in a relationship with an Alpha!? Did you take precautions?! Do you know your gland can’t bear it at all! Your pheromone blood test came back abnormal last week!”

Xing Yang threw his phone far away and waited until the other person finished yelling before he picked it back up, softly saying: “Girls shouldn’t get so worked up.”

“Let me die of anger, I was just trying to go study! Who the hell is that guy?! Do you know how hard it was for me to graduate from Germany?! And there’s that idiot named Qiu something, Qiu Jing! Yes! Him! In the opposing group, he nearly ruined my graduation!”

    Qiu Jing…

    “He’s Tan Zhiyu.”

“Tan…” The girl on the other end of the line abruptly cooled down: “Tan Zhiyu? You two are together so fast…”

“He’s cuter than I imagined.” Xing Yang tapped his fountain pen on the table, his eyes smiling crescent-like, his deep voice laced with a hint of pride: “We’re dating.”

“Oh.” The girl scoffed, and then suddenly shifted to the key point: “This isn’t an excuse for you to ignore your medical advice, right?!”

    “Do you have precautions?!”

Xing Yang thought for a moment: “My gland isn’t natural, right? You always said the fusion isn’t good, it shouldn’t be an issue, right…”

“But you still have a reproductive cavity! If you get caught, it could cost you your life!”

At this, Xing Yang rubbed his lower back; he felt like last night was more than lethal…

    “Xing Yang—!!”

“Stop yelling, I’ll go for a review next week, okay? Don’t be mad, because I’m not worth it.”

    He softly consoled her.

“Xing Yang, you are worth it the most.” The girl said in frustration: “I’m worried about you.”

“Tan Zhiyu has no idea how you’ve been for the past ten years; I do.”
