PMWAIAAPM Chapter 35
by VolareChapter 35
Yuanyin Real Estate.
“Good morning, Mr. Xing.”
Xing Yang stepped out of the car, and the security guard on the first floor received the keys to park the car in the garage. It was already nine-thirty in the morning, and other employees in the company greeted him as they saw him. Xing Yang nodded and took the elevator.
“What a strange thing, why is Mr. Xing here at this time today?”
“Didn’t you hear? Originally, the company lost nearly a billion on the amusement park project. Mr. Xing secured investment yesterday to cover this loss, and the finance department is having a meeting this morning because of it.”
With such a huge amount, the only way to make up for it in a short period, apart from cooking the books, was to bring in investments.
“Mr. Xing is really capable. I noticed he has dark circles under his eyes; he probably had discussions late last night and didn’t sleep well…”
“He’s really working hard.”
Yuanyin Real Estate is a workplace that many people would push to get into, offering good benefits. Many of the senior executives started from scratch alongside Xing Yang, all having been hard-working employees who had experienced struggles. They had never shortchanged employee benefits, and many staff members felt sorry for Mr. Xing.
“Can a man like Mr. Xing really ever marry me in the future…?”
“Wake up.”
The elevator dinged, and the doors opened. Secretary Song saw him and quickly stepped forward to take the file: “Mr. Xing, the directors have already arrived.”
Song Tian is the junior secretary in the president’s office, while Wang Zuiqing handles Xing Yang’s daily office work and document processing. Song Tian’s responsibilities are more fragmented, from pouring coffee to taking meeting notes. Secretary Wang had already distributed documents to all the directors in the office and was waiting for Xing Yang.
He had never been late, but recently, there had been a few too many late nights.
The directors included elderly professors and financiers. At first, they thought that an omega like Xing Yang, who rose from nothing, could reach such a level by chance. They were primarily concerned about the year-end dividends. Gradually, golden opportunities don’t hide from dreamers, and the scornful gazes they once cast on Xing Yang turned into admiration.
This time, the Star Sea Amusement Park would have a trial operation in the capital for a year, before expanding nationally and even internationally.
The main topics of the meeting revolved around when to finish renovations and which celebrity ambassadors to invite.
You should know, the influence of celebrities is a highly effective promotion.
Xing Yang rubbed his temples and flipped through the documents handed over by Secretary Wang, all featuring young collaborators with a solid fan base.
Someone suggested, “How about inviting Xu Ke? His recent mystery film has received good feedback, and while it’s hot, we could have him feature our park in his next movie.”
Another voice opposed, saying Xu Ke has a tough guy image, although internationally known, doesn’t fit with an amusement park, nor does his fanbase align.
What they needed were endorsers with alluring looks.
Secretary Wang subconsciously scanned Mr. Xing, noticing a small red mark under his tie, and inquired, “Mr. Xing, the trending keywords are here; would you like to pick from them?”
Xing Yang acknowledged with a hum. He pressed his finger to the bridge of his nose, his voice low and slightly groggy: “What do you think of Tan Zhiyu?”
Silence fell.
The directors seated around the oval table all looked over in unison, disbelief written all over their faces.
Tan Zhiyu, the star of the films Xing Yang invested in, had famously asked for a cigarette from Xing Yang during their first meal together on set; this gossip had long spread within the industry.
While outsiders found Xing Yang easygoing, he was someone who never forgot a slight. In the cutthroat world of market monopolization, he had no qualms about resorting to underhanded tactics for his goals; very few dared to disrespect him, and Tan Zhiyu was one of them.
Now, Mr. Xing unexpectedly proposed working with someone he had a grudge against…
“Tan Zhiyu definitely fits, but… I’m not sure about the cost and his willingness… whether it can come to fruition…”
“I will discuss it.” Mr. Xing closed the documents in his hands.
“Mr. Xing has great vision.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Xing. If that doesn’t work out, we can look for others; we still have plenty of backups.”
“Tan Zhiyu has been nominated for the Three Golds. If we can continue to cooperate, it would be all benefits and no harm. Mr. Xing, don’t overthink him—focus on the immediate benefits! I believe you can make it happen.”
Secretary Wang: “……”
If he hadn’t just witnessed the two passionately kissing in the car last night, he might have bought into the idea that Mr. Xing was making sacrifices for the company to bow down before a movie star…
In the eyes of outsiders: Mr. Xing is incredibly noble!!
In Secretary Wang’s eyes: Mr. Xing is sneaking in his personal interests for his wife.
Isn’t this money laundering? The company books would have the funds eventually ending up in their little couple’s pockets, then circling back around—hey, no wonder Mr. Xing is good at business.
Plans were nearly finalized, and several departmental accounts were reviewed before the directors left.
Suddenly, Xing Yang called out to Secretary Wang: “Contact Tan Zhiyu’s agent, will you? Ask about his availability.”
Secretary Wang: “Huh?”
Can’t you discuss this at home under the covers?
“Mr. Xing, contacting the agent needs to go through their entertainment company’s channel.”
Xing Yang nodded: “No problem. The official contract needs to go through, anyway. Just raise the amount a little, draft it up, and I’ll take it back for him to sign tonight, aiming to make the payment tonight as well.”
Secretary Wang: “……”
He had never seen the usually cautious Mr. Xing move so swiftly through a contract…
Xing Yang thought for a moment. Last night, he probably… marked four or five times, so perhaps he could give Mr. Tan some extra compensation. After all, he had given Mr. Tan’s back quite a scratch…
“Is there anything else?” Xing Yang had only slept for two hours last night, and the back of his neck was still sore from the bites.
Having just been marked, the bite marks were still swollen; the plaster only made it uncomfortable. He rubbed his temples, noticing Secretary Wang hadn’t left, and asked, “Is there anything else?”
Secretary Wang smiled awkwardly, looking as if he found it difficult to speak. This made Xing Yang take notice; Secretary Wang’s work was always excellent, but his demeanor now seemed like he was asking for a favor.
“Is there something difficult? Do you need to take leave, or—”
“It’s not that.”
“You do great work. If there’s anything you need that I can help with, just let me know.”
Secretary Wang said, “My husband…,” his voice trailed off, then smilingly added, “he really likes Mr. Tan’s movies. He didn’t know you were friends, so could you help me get an autograph? I have a lot of his merchandise at home, and if it’s possible, he would be really happy.”
Xing Yang momentarily spaced out, then chuckled: “Sure.”
“You supporting him buying other people’s merchandise seems quite rare.”
It seemed no one was willing to share their partner’s affections with others, no matter the reason.
Wang Zuiqing shrugged: “If he’s happy, I’m happy.”
“I won’t hold it against him if he wants more. I just feel I give too little.”
So that’s how it is…
“Let’s add fifty million to Mr. Tan’s payment.”
Secretary Wang thought to say that love isn’t given this way…
