    Chapter 21

At this moment in the top-level conference room of the Yuanyin Real Estate, several shareholders were pounding the table, shirking responsibility.

There were issues in the construction of the Star Sea Amusement Park in the northern suburbs. The park, which had over ten billion in investments, had required considerable effort just to secure the land. It was nearing its deadline for completion, and today was the day of a spot inspection. The inspection unexpectedly covered the central 5D projection hall and the original forest museum, revealing that the quality standards were not met—materials had been compromised by using sea sand to save costs.

Failing the quality inspection meant that all projects had to be re-examined from scratch, and the failed items had to be demolished and rebuilt. The sea sand structure was unstable and had a lifespan of only twenty years, leading to uncertain but significant losses.

The manager in charge of the project was fired, and without anyone willing to take responsibility for the losses, several investors and shareholders were arguing heatedly in the meeting, nearly coming to blows.

“Isn’t it your construction team that messed up! Why should the company foot this bill?”

“Nonsense! Who do you expect to do the work in such a short timeframe? You were silent when hiring the construction team, and now that there’s a problem, you want to pin it all on me?”

“Your shares should cover the losses! The real estate market has been poor these two years, how much liquidity has this project consumed? Don’t you know?”

“Xing, why don’t you say something?”

Xing Yang leaned back in his chair, twirling the pen in his hand while watching the shareholders argue until they were red in the face. When called out, he finally returned to reality: “Are we done arguing?”

Wang Dong and Liu Zong were visibly agitated, their chests heaving with anger.

They hadn’t expected him to say something like that. After a moment of silence, they returned to their seats, with Wang Dong taking a swig of water angrily and stating, “We can’t use the company’s liquid assets to fill the hole at the amusement park.”

Liu Zong, seething, replied, “So what do you mean? Why not just use my life to fill it up!”

“Fine, go ahead! How much is your life worth?”

Sun Zong quickly tried to mediate, “There’s no need for this; we can definitely find a solution. This yelling won’t help. Look, Xing is probably contacting someone now, maybe he can smooth over the quality inspection issue.”

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone turned to look at Xing Yang.

The man was fiddling with his phone, tapping and scrolling on the screen.

No matter what solution there was, it ultimately rested with Xing Yang. This was still a loss for the company, and as the CEO, he would naturally be worried. Their heated argument wouldn’t make a difference now, and one by one they fell silent, wanting to see what Xing Yang could come up with on his phone.

Standing behind Xing Yang was Secretary Wang, who felt a bit tense watching the scene unfold.

From his perspective, he could see the screen of Xing Yang’s phone—was he thinking of solutions or not??

To his utter disbelief, Xing Yang was browsing for online purchases!! And he was shopping for flowers and plush toys. Thirty seconds later, he placed an order for nearly twenty thousand yuan worth of fresh flowers.

Secretary Wang nervously glanced at the shareholders who had fallen silent, then lowered his head again, feeling somewhat speechless: CEO Xing, at a time like this, why are you still focused on spoiling your wife?

After finishing his shopping, Xing Yang surveyed the shareholders at the table, his deep black eyes seemingly holding a vast world, difficult to discern, and said, “Since no one has a solution, let’s end the meeting.”

The shareholders were stunned, waiting for Xing Yang to present some solution: “?”

    Secretary Wang: “…..”

“Xing, what do you mean by that? The company’s liquid assets are in trouble, you can’t just ignore it. Otherwise, we could at least divert the investment from the film to deal with this….”

“Robbing Peter to pay Paul won’t work.” Xing Yang replied calmly, “Moreover, money should be earned, not saved.”

All the shareholders thought he had a solution now, and they quickly fell silent.

“Xing, are you going to the site later?” Secretary Wang asked after the shareholders left. “The police have already detained the main culprit, and for now, this matter has been suppressed; the media doesn’t know yet. I’m also in touch with a new construction team, but delivery will definitely be delayed.”

“He doesn’t like sunflowers; isn’t it inappropriate to send roses?” Xing Yang opened his phone to show the freshly ordered floral arrangement.

    Secretary Wang: “…..”

Come on, the company is in a deep crisis right now! Secretary Wang suddenly felt a flock of crows flying over his head. Whose company is this anyway?

During the shareholders’ quarrel, he hadn’t registered a single word, and for the first time, Secretary Wang felt like he hardly recognized his boss. Who exactly has transformed him into this blooming flower? It’s somewhat ridiculous.

    “Uhm… okay.”

“Handle this matter. Help me schedule a dinner with Chi for the day after tomorrow.”

    “Sure.”

“Nothing else, you can leave work now.”

Xing Yang seemed to be in a good mood. The losses had piled up beyond counting, yet he walked out of the office with calmness.

The previous Xing Yang was a typical character who would prioritize money over life. Although he bought a home in the capital, he rarely stayed there. At times in the earlier stages of construction, he would even personally supervise on site. Secretary Wang often marveled that the man had gotten rich due to fate, but recently there had been some changes in their boss.

When did he start to change?

It seemed to have begun when he invested in Director Zheng’s movie.

So… what Xing Yang is interested in, is it Director Zheng or Young Master Jiang Cheng?

In the parking lot of Butterfly Manor.

Tan Zhiyu received another call from Sister Li: “Why did you leave?! Tan Zhiyu, what’s wrong with you lately?! Do you realize that if any negative news comes out today, it would ruin your reputation?”

Tan Zhiyu raised his chin towards the rearview mirror, confirming his perfect face, and then checked his phone for the time. There were still six minutes left before three hours. He wanted to see what tricks Boss Xing had prepared.

“I was being dedicated to my job; how is that negative news?”

    Sister Li: “?”

“You were just beating Jiang Cheng up on stage to the point of madness! And how much is your face worth?! What if you get hurt?”

“Even if I get hurt, I’d still look handsome.” He hummed lightly, feeling pleased. “That was a fight scene with Jiang Cheng, for dramatic effect; Director Zheng also said my moves were beautiful.”

    Sister Li: “……”

They were pretty moves, but it was just acting, mostly positioning with light contact.

Their scene today involved fighting against each other in an octagonal cage, where on the surface they were fierce rivals but secretly trusted partners working closely. So the initial setup had to represent that kind of competitive tension.

As for achieving that vibe, Tan Zhiyu felt he grasped it particularly well. Especially during the initial moments after the cameras started rolling, the two of them exchanged fist bumps and went straight into the fighting, skipping the probing phase.

In the end, it was unclear who got too caught up, but the two of them ended up wrestling and striking at each other. Director Zheng clapped excitedly and exclaimed, “That’s the feeling! It really seems like you want to kill each other, haha, one take!”

By the time he finished his enthusiastic commentary, the two on stage were still entangled in their fight. Director Zheng: “….?”

Jiang Cheng’s mouthguard flew out as he shouted, his anger boiling over: “Are you doing this on purpose?”

Tan Zhiyu raised his hands in surrender: “I take no blame; it’s not my fault you’re outmatched.”

He was, after all, a top alpha with a significant physical advantage, who had been doing martial arts for many years; Jiang Cheng, coddled by his little sister since childhood, could not compete.

Had the staff not pulled them apart, who knows what kind of mess they would have created.

Tan Zhiyu had some bruises on his face, but at this moment, he was scowling at his reflection in the rearview mirror, worried: what if he got hurt on his face? Would he still charm Boss Xing?
