PMWAIAAPM Chapter 1
by VolareChapter 01
Xing Yang pushed open the private room door, and everyone inside was waiting for him.
“President Xing, you’re late! Time for a penalty drink!”
Seven people stood up, smiling as they shook hands with him. Xing Yang took off his glasses and put them in his pocket, while his secretary took his suit jacket from behind him. The collar was open with two buttons undone, revealing his honey-colored skin and a small butterfly tattoo.
Xing Yang smiled apologetically, “There were issues at the construction site that delayed me. I’ll drink a cup myself; please forgive me.”
He downed a glass of white liquor from the table, though the smile on his face didn’t reach his eyes. His obsidian-like gaze casually swept over the man at the round table.
His secretary Wang introduced, “President Xing, this is Tan Zhiyu. Mr. Tan is the lead actor in this film we are investing in.”
Today’s meal was arranged by Director Zheng.
“President Xing has transitioned from real estate to investing in films; that’s quite a choice and very insightful. Tan Zhiyu is not someone who gives face easily.”
Xing Yang made his fortune in real estate, dropping out of high school and working his way up with fellow workers on contracting small projects; within ten years, he had firmly established himself in the capital’s real estate industry.
In recent years, many in the real estate sector had begun transferring funds to invest in new projects.
Xing Yang had set his sights on investing in films, and his close friend Director Zheng was at the helm. With the new movie starting production, it was common for him to host a dinner to facilitate meetings between investors and leads.
However, the other lead role of the dinner, Tan Zhiyu, was somewhat difficult to deal with.
Tan Zhiyu was of half German descent, a former child star, and was known for his carefree attitude in the industry. With a highly prestigious background, everyone had to give him some respect, and he had never been seen at a dinner with investors before.
Director Zheng was trying to maintain a friendly atmosphere, letting his secretary pour drinks: “Just right, let me introduce Mr. Tan. This is our new film’s investor, Xing Yang, from Yuan Yin Real Estate.”
Tan Zhiyu sat at the table fiddling with a lighter. He was dressed casually in a gray hoodie, raising an eyebrow, a hint of displeasure showing on his well-defined face.
“President Xing is a busy person; he probably doesn’t have time to drink the toast from me.” Tan Zhiyu’s lazy voice was indifferent.
Next to him, his agent Xiao Qin was sweating nervously, quietly saying, “Ancestor, let’s not offend this person; he has quite a status in the capital recently!”
“Oh?” Tan Zhiyu placed the lighter on the table and lazily raised his eyes, “So President Xing is a big shot; I apologize for my rudeness.”
“Mr. Tan, a pleasure to meet you.” Xing Yang glanced at the lighter in his hand, momentarily lost in thought, before taking the initiative to walk over and extend his hand.
“I hope to have a pleasant collaboration with Mr. Tan.”
Tan Zhiyu did not reach out; instead, he passed the lighter over, “Since it’s a pleasure, President Xing wouldn’t mind lighting me a cigarette, would you?”
Xing Yang’s expression stiffened, but he smiled and used the lighter to light the cigarette.
In the flickering firelight, Tan Zhiyu’s long curled eyelashes were illuminated in the shadows, quite beautiful.
“Please.”
“Thank you.” Tan Zhiyu raised an eyebrow but showed no desire to smoke, extinguishing the cigarette in a crystal glass instead.
Everyone present was stunned; the investor’s goodwill had been outright rejected. It was no different than slapping Xing Yang’s face in public.
Yet, the film’s buzz relied heavily on Tan Zhiyu, a face genius whose fighting scenes were exceptional. His personality was rebellious; since his debut, he had only done three films, each labeled as classic, making him a walking money tree.
Xing Yang was the investor; Tan Zhiyu was the money tree he sought after.
Naturally, he had to treat him with care.
“Tan Zhiyu’s temper is so bad; looks like the industry rumors were true?”
“The investor looked pale; President Xing seems to be about the same age as him yet is a big boss, and he’s being publicly humiliated like this.”
“But it’s Tan Zhiyu; he brings in hundreds of millions in investment revenue. If I were an investor, I would punish myself with thirty shots if I were late!”
“True.”
The meal ended on a sour note; Tan Zhiyu maintained a calm demeanor throughout while his agent Xiao Qin was trembling in fear, regretting ever coming to this dinner.
Today, she thought the big star Tan was finally open to interacting with investors and eagerly attended the dinner; who could have imagined! Tan Zhiyu had given no favorable expressions to the investors from start to finish.
He even implicitly mocked Xing Yang’s gender.
Xing Yang, President Xing, was an omega.
Tan Zhiyu said, “President Xing has accomplished so much at such a young age; it must not be easy as an omega, right?”
Xing Yang nodded, “Not easy.”
“Is President Xing married?” Tan Zhiyu asked.
Xing Yang nodded again, “I’m married.”
