IHNMSL Chapter 11
by VolareChapter 11: Chapter 11 – Admitting Fault
[East District 19]
Yao looked through the car window at the towering buildings outside.
Central Star is the political center of the Bug Clan, always possessing the largest and most elite garrison forces, busy transportation lines, space tunnels connecting fortresses, and various Bug Clan members maintaining order, constantly constructing this steel jungle.
The predominantly black military architecture added a touch of solemn and oppressive atmosphere to this planet.
Chen Xing recalled the feeling of holding the little Male Bug to sleep last night; fragrant and soft, yes, but too much of a torment.
“There’s a restaurant here with decent seafood. Yao, play some games for a while, we’ll be there soon.”
Having done her homework on the StarNet in advance, the Female Bug had learned about all the large and small internet-famous gourmet restaurants nearby.
Finally, she settled on a refined aristocratic restaurant with flowers, music, and a spotless floor.
However, the little Male Bug didn’t play by the rules.
“I don’t want seafood.” Yao tugged on the Female Bug’s sleeve and excitedly pointed to the bustling spicy crayfish restaurant across from the luxurious high-end shopping mall, “I want to eat that!”
“Are you sure your stomach can handle it?”
Having been together for so long, Chen Xing was used to Yao’s curiosity about everything. If Yao wanted to try it, she naturally couldn’t refuse.
Interstellar law has strict requirements for food safety, so there was basically no need to worry about hygiene.
The Female Bug’s action of peeling shrimp with gloves was pleasing to the eye, neatly separating the shrimp shells and placing the clean shrimp meat on the plate.
This small restaurant was very popular, and although the storefront was a bit dilapidated, the taste was excellent.
The next table was a beautiful Male Bug with twin Bug cubs.
Surrounded by a circle of eager Female Bugs, the Male Bug, who was constantly being approached, seemed to be in a slightly unpleasant mood, until a seemingly honest and strong Female Bug arrived, easing the situation, apparently his Female Consort.
The two little Bug cubs, their hands covered in oil, sat in the middle, slurping shrimp while blinking their eyes and watching their female and male parents show affection by feeding each other.
They were a couple with a good relationship, Yao watched this scene thoughtfully.
A warmth that Bugs envied flowed around them.
Yao thought that he would probably never have the chance to experience this kind of harmonious family feeling from his own male and female parents.
When they left, the surrounding hovering surveillance drones had obviously doubled in number.
The city’s weather was controlled by the central AI, and the rain started without any warning.
“I’ll get an umbrella.”
As soon as Chen Xing left, Yao looked at the dark mirror-like sky and suddenly had an ominous premonition.
“Yao?” A familiar voice came from the rain.
Yao raised his head blankly, it was Daina!
“You… you’ve mistaken me for someone else.” The little Male Bug lowered the brim of his hat and deftly dodged the Female Bug’s hand reaching out to grab his shoulder.
If Daina’s voice only made Yao panic, then the next second another low, magnetic voice made him freeze on the spot.
“YaoYao…”
It was Hevia! Why was his step-female parent here? The little Male Bug’s hair stood on end.
Yao was almost unable to resist being stuffed into a military vehicle by Hevia like a chick, and the vehicle sped away.
Worried that the little Male Bug would encounter danger alone outside, Hevia immediately had a doctor give Yao a thorough examination from head to toe.
The Female Bug’s gaze stopped on Yao’s swollen lips.
“Who did this?” Hevia’s voice was laced with ice.
“The crayfish did it!” The trembling Yao only cared about admitting his mistake, “I’m sorry father, I shouldn’t have eaten spicy shrimp.”
“I’m not joking with you.” Hevia, the Chief Executive Officer, who never showed her emotions, rarely showed a dark face.
“Were you bullied?” Yao, wearing civilian clothes, looked miserable in Hevia’s eyes. Where had this child, who had grown up surrounded by gold and silver, ever worn such shabby things?
She didn’t know how much hardship he had suffered outside during this time.
Having filled in the blanks with some strange things, Hevia looked at Yao with even more affection, and Yao got goosebumps from the doting.
“Will is very worried about you.” Hevia stroked Yao’s head, “I’ll help you solve the matter of not wanting to marry Rosen, in short, Yao, how about apologizing to your male parent first?”
The Duke’s mental state had been terrible during this time. If Yao wasn’t found, Hevia worried about his health every day.
As soon as apologizing was mentioned, Yao refused to speak.
The little Male Bug covered his head and refused to communicate. Hevia had been with Yao for more than ten years, from a little Bug cub until now, and knew his thoughts very well.
“Your male parent’s headaches have been acting up again recently, Will loves YaoYao but just expressed it the wrong way.”
The little Male Bug was susceptible to soft approaches rather than hard ones. Sure enough, as soon as he heard that his male parent was sick, he immediately became anxious.
When the Duke was young, he was a true pride of the heavens, the most outstanding spiritual guide in the history of the Central Star Male Academy.
A spiritual affinity of 9.7, close to a perfect score, was hard to come by. No Bug didn’t know the value that such a king-level Male Bug, who could independently construct a sub-nest, could bring.
It was a pity that after divorcing Chris, the Duke became disheartened, gave up everything on Central Star, and resigned from his position as a guide. Otherwise, the number of S-rank or higher Female Bugs in the Bug Clan would probably have increased several times over.
The Duke’s headaches were an old problem, and had existed since Yao had memory of it. Yao was also aware of this, after all, the most common thing in his male parent’s drawer was always painkillers.
Seeing Yao’s attitude soften, Hevia knew that her goal had been achieved.
Not long after the step-female parent left, the second person to see Yao was Daina.
“Ugh… why do even you, brother, have to lecture me?”
Yao was uninterested. Even the little gifts the Female Bug brought that he usually liked couldn’t stir his emotions. He was now like a prisoner accepting rounds of questioning.
“The General didn’t mean to blame you.” Daina was silent for a while, he was here on behalf of Chris to check on Yao’s situation.
“How were the physical examination results, were you injured?”
“I’m very well, I even gained two pounds.” Yao pinched the flesh on his cheeks.
“Why did you work together with Hevia father to catch me, and I even wanted to come and take refuge with you! Traitorous brother, hmph!”
The little Male Bug was sulky. Chris wasn’t on Central Star, and it wasn’t that Yao hadn’t thought about going to find Daina, but thinking that his thick-thighed female parent wasn’t around, Daina definitely wouldn’t be able to resist his male parent, and he was also preparing for the league recently, so he didn’t dare to cause Daina any trouble.
“What did father say to you?” Yao knew that Daina must have come this time under Chris’s orders.
“The General said she hopes Yao won’t be willful.”
“I’m not being willful…” The little Male Bug couldn’t maintain his forced smile, his emotions suddenly dropped, and he lowered his head and retorted in a weak voice that was barely audible.
His male parent said he was disobedient, his step-female parent wanted him to apologize, and even his biological female parent said he was willful, everyone thought he was wrong.
But he just didn’t want to casually marry a Bug he didn’t like…
