Chapter 11 “A Bad Alpha Wants to Bully Me”

Yu An’s earlobes were burning when he woke up.

He didn’t even have time to put on his shoes, his slender legs trembling as he hurried to the bathroom.

089, upon seeing this scene: ?

In the bathroom, Yu An changed his pants and looked at his flushed face in the mirror.

…How could he have such a strange dream.

He must have been overly frightened by Xie Jinsheng, and hadn’t rested well.

He wouldn’t be like this once he got used to it.

    However.

In the following days, the Alpha didn’t appear again, as if the ointment application that night was an illusion.

However, sometimes there would be traces similar to soft bodies crawling on the window glass.

The torrential rain washed over the entire Ruined City, and the infected creatures were rampant.

As an Omega without abilities, Yu An could only huddle at home, taking the opportunity to supplement his knowledge of the apocalypse and meticulously plan his future itinerary.

The day the torrential rain ended happened to be the ticket collection day.

[Host, I’ve already been keeping an eye on Xie Jinsheng’s location. It’s been raining so hard these past few days, there must have been a lot of infected creatures emerging. I don’t believe he won’t come out!] 089 was full of confidence.

“Okay.” Yu An remembered the important task for today and said to the system, “089, send me the route.”

He glanced at it, put on his mask, and went out with a small satchel.

The Ruined City Ticket Center wasn’t too far from the original host’s house.

    It was a twenty-minute walk.

By then, over a hundred people had already gathered around, men, women, old, and young, forming a small queue.

Yu An clutched the original host’s residence permit in his hand, as well as a residence permit for Xie Jinsheng that 089 had forged this morning.

[Host, don’t worry,] 089 said, [with my level of secretly creating absence cards back in the Space-Time Bureau, I definitely won’t be exposed!]

    “Then I’m relieved.”

The queue seemed like it would take more than ten minutes.

Yu An wasn’t in a hurry. He took out a small notebook from his pocket and looked through the rules of Rong Nan Base.

    But…

He always felt some disgusting gaze staring at him, making him uncomfortable.

Yu An raised his head and looked for the source of the gaze, only to see three tall Alphas walking towards him. The bronze-skinned man in the lead seemed to be the boss of the other two.

[Damn, they’re up to no good.] 089 said, [Host, they’re judging whether you’re an Omega! How disgusting.]

After the arrival of the apocalypse, social order was chaotic, and laws were nonexistent.

As the weakest of the three ABO genders, Omegas had a low proportion of ability awakenings, and their living space had been severely squeezed in recent decades.

They died, they were injured, and although they were precious, they were like lambs to the slaughter.

Besides guarding against infected creatures, they also had to guard against… people.

He heard that the last train was full of Omegas, but it was hijacked by bandits halfway.

The soldiers of Rong Nan Base reacted quickly and prepared defenses, but in the chaos, nearly half of the Omegas were abducted.

To protect himself, the original host had been pretending to be a Beta. After coming to Ruined City, he chose a house in the most hidden old district and rarely went out. Even when he did go out, he would wear a mask.

But Alphas were creatures that were very good at smelling scents.

“Little O?” The bronze-skinned Alpha revealed a mouthful of white teeth.

Yu An tried his best to ignore the Alpha aura coming at him, releasing pressure. His voice was soft, but it carried a hint of indifference as he said, “I’m a Beta.”

As soon as he finished speaking.

The interest in the bronze-skinned Alpha’s eyes instantly dissipated by half, “So it’s a Beta.”

But the Alpha pressure in the air didn’t dissipate. It was as if they were testing the truth of his words.

Yu An pinched his palm, not revealing the slightest abnormality on his face, and touched the small dagger in his pocket.

Just then, a lavender Alpha aura suddenly surged over. The three Alphas were caught off guard by this attack, and their pheromone spells were interrupted.

Yu An finally breathed a sigh of relief.

He heard a male voice behind him, “Put your pheromones away. Didn’t you see there are other people around?”

    A young Alpha walked out.

This aura was strong, obviously an S-rank.

The three Alphas were no match for him. They glared at Yu An and then scurried away.

“Yu An, what a coincidence,” the other said.

It took several seconds for Yu An to remember who this person was.

    –Zhen Yuan.

When the original host first came to Ruined City, he hadn’t yet obtained a residence permit, so he just made do with it. This Zhen Yuan was the original host’s neighbor at the time.

The two had never had much interaction.

Zhen Yuan didn’t seem like an overly friendly person either.

But in the past month, the other party had suddenly started greeting the original host and even took care of him at times.

“089, what do you think is going on?”

The system said: [He’s up to something. We have to be careful.]

“Yu An? Can you hear me? Are you sick?”

Yu An came back to his senses and saw Zhen Yuan frowning, wanting to touch his forehead. So he immediately avoided it and said, “No, I was just thinking about something. By the way, Zhen Yuan, why haven’t you left yet?”

According to the transfer plan, S-rank Alphas should be on the first train.

“Oh, you mean this?” Zhen Yuan said naturally, “I got a little injured and didn’t get a ticket. I missed it.”

If he remembered correctly, there had already been several trains to the base. He couldn’t have missed every one, right?

Yu An didn’t expose him. He wanted to put some distance between himself and Zhen Yuan, but his footsteps faltered.

    “What’s wrong?” Zhen Yuan asked.

Afraid of being seen as abnormal, Yu An calmly steadied himself and said without any change, “Sorry, I’ve been standing for too long. I have a bit of low blood sugar.”

“Then be careful.” Zhen Yuan smiled.

For the rest of the time, Yu An put on his fake headphones and manually muted Zhen Yuan. He said to the system, “089, pay attention to Xie Jinsheng’s location. I’m going to find him after I get the ticket.”

[No problem. Leave it to me.] The system flashed its signal light. [As long as I, 089, am here, Xie Jinsheng won’t be able to escape from your clutches, Host!]

    Yu An: “…”

Crap, his system seemed to have been reading CEO romance novels recently.

After half an hour, it was finally Yu An’s turn in the queue.

He handed over the two residence permits. The ticket issuer in Ruined City took a look and held out his hand.

“What?” Yu An was a little puzzled.

“What else? It’s a fee. One of the residence permits has expired. Are you even stingy with a low-level crystal core?”

“Expired?” Yu An didn’t have a single crystal core in his hand. He wanted to take it back and check it carefully.

But the ticket issuer directly kept the ticket.

Yu An sensed a hint of trouble-making and said, “Sir, please return my certificate first. I’ll come back in the afternoon…”

Suddenly, a crystal core was handed over.

Yu An turned his head and saw it was Zhen Yuan. By the time he came back to his senses and wanted to stop him, the ticket issuer had already accepted it. His attitude towards him changed 180 degrees. “Ticket collection, right? Please wait a moment. It’ll be ready soon.”

“…” Yu An sighed and said to Zhen Yuan, “Thank you.”

“It’s nothing.” Zhen Yuan didn’t seem to care. He just looked at him and smiled, “I’m happy to be able to help you.”

Yu An silently distanced himself from him and said, “I’ll return the crystal core to you in the future.”

“I told you not to,” Zhen Yuan said helplessly, only looking at him smile.

[Host, his attitude towards you is a bit… unusual.] Even 089 could see that something was wrong.

Yu An paused and insisted to Zhen Yuan, “Don’t worry, I’ll definitely return it.”

After all, you couldn’t just accept people’s things for nothing. Who knew what you would have to use to repay them in the future…

He had stayed in other worlds for so long, after all. Although he played the role of a vicious cannon fodder, and he wasn’t particularly smart, he wasn’t completely ignorant of human relationships.

As an ordinary, weak Omega, he had to be careful when he came to the apocalyptic world with no order.

“Okay, then I’ll wait for you.” Zhen Yuan could only agree, seeing that he couldn’t dissuade him. After a while, he asked, “Do you need me to take you back?”

    “Thank you, but no need.”

“Then I’ll see you at the train station.”

After getting the train ticket, Yu An took advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention and slipped into an alley.

“089, where is Xie Jinsheng?” He stuffed the items into his small satchel.

The train ticket was in place.

Now, only the most important thing remained—persuading Xie Jinsheng to get on the human train.

[Host, go forward. If you pass through this alley, you’ll see a desert. Xie Jinsheng is over there fighting infected creatures. Really, thank goodness, I finally captured a signal today.] 089 was almost in tears. [We can meet him if we go over there now!]

    “Okay.”

He took a few steps but felt something was wrong. Why was his body getting hotter and hotter…

[Host?] 089 saw that Yu An was not quite right and, after checking, was frightened. [Oh my god, Host, you’ve been subjected to too much Alpha pheromone pressure. You’re about to go into heat! You, you, you have an inhibitor on you, right!]

The system was so frightened that it stuttered.

He knew that once an Omega went into heat, their pheromones would leak out, and Alphas within a few miles would be able to smell them.

Especially since Yu An was an un-marked O.

    The consequences were imaginable.

Yu An wanted to take out the inhibitor but heard several voices behind him–

“Looking at that figure, I thought he was an Omega. What a pity…”

“Big brother, there’s no need to feel sorry. Betas are just as fun to play with! Strange, where did he go? I clearly saw that little B running this way.”

It was the voices of those three Alphas.

In the past few days of supplementing his knowledge of the apocalypse, Yu An was well aware of how weak a small O without an Alpha or abilities was in this era.

It was like a piece of meat being thrown into a pack of wolves, to be torn, bullied, and eaten until not even the bones remained.

Yu An’s body trembled, and he quickly held his breath.

Suddenly, someone muttered, “Huh, why is there the scent of an Omega?”

The three people’s footsteps gradually approached. Yu An’s heart pounded as if it was about to jump out of his chest. He took out a small smoke bomb and threw it into the crowd, turned around, and ran.

“That B… no, that’s an Omega over there! Don’t let him run!”

Yu An felt like he was running out of breath.

There was a fork in the road just ahead.

He took off his mask and threw it to the left side of the other path. Then, covering his neck, he plunged into the right path.

The sensitive and fragile Omega was only focused on escaping the pursuit of the three Alphas and didn’t notice a shadow following behind him.

    At this moment.

The desert area outside Ruined City.

Xie Jinsheng had just finished off a batch of infected creatures.

An old man who had been trapped in a corner was rescued and was about to thank him, but halfway through his words, he caught sight of his tentacles. “Mon… monster!” He hurriedly ran away.

Xie Jinsheng paused for a few seconds and curled the corners of his lips in a self-deprecating smile.

He should have been used to it long ago.

No human would welcome a monster.

He picked up the advanced crystal core and lowered his eyes, gazing at the jasmine flower carved on his scimitar dagger.

For some reason, Xie Jinsheng really didn’t like this floral pattern being stained with blood.

Seeing that it had been stained red, Xie Jinsheng wanted to take out a tissue to wipe it off.

But he found a piece of candy in his pocket.

For the past half year, he had always been in the habit of carrying a piece of candy with him. When he came to his senses, he would always throw it away. But subconsciously, he always remembered.

It was as if this candy was prepared for someone very important…

Also, the unbreakable pocket watch that he wore around his neck, close to his heart.

    Everything was a mystery.

Everything seemed to be the key to him recovering his memory.

Xie Jinsheng originally wanted to throw the candy away, but after looking at it for a few seconds, he silently put it back in his pocket.

There were no more infected creatures nearby, and he was about to leave.

Suddenly, a familiar aura engulfed his lungs.

The next second, as yellow sand swirled up, the intense floral fragrance became even stronger.

A soft, warm teenager suddenly threw himself into his arms.

“Xie Jinsheng, save me,” the Omega’s voice trembled, not knowing how long he had been running. He tightly grabbed his arm. “Waaah, there’s a bad A chasing me from behind…”
