    Chapter 97: Confrontation

The evidence provided by the leader of the kidnappers was far more horrifying than Lian Xun had imagined. Apart from illegal goods trafficking, Lian Feng had at least five or six lives on his hands.

Lian Feng tore the papers in his hand into pieces and scattered them from the second floor. There wasn’t a trace of guilt or fear on his face; instead, he was even more arrogant.

“So what if you have this evidence? I have money, I can bribe the police, and easily get rid of it.”

He had always done this in the past. Money makes the world go round, and he knew this well.

As long as he firmly controlled the Lian Family Group in his hands, no one could do anything to him.

“With what money? Public funds misappropriated from the Lian Family Group?”

A voice came from outside the door. Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw a young man in a suit and tie slowly entering the hall, bathed in the moonlight of early night, standing next to Lian Xun.

Lian Feng’s expression changed slightly. He recognized this man as Mr. Dante, who had been frequently cooperating with the Lian Family Group recently and had helped him a lot.

However, they had only met in videos. How could Dante suddenly visit his home? What did he mean by what he just said?

Even if he had a thousand doubts in his heart, this was not the time to receive outside guests.

Lian Feng put on a polite and humble posture, explaining to the man, “Mr. Dante, I didn’t know you were coming. I apologize for the oversight. However, as you can see today, I have some family matters to deal with. I’m afraid you’ve made a wasted trip.”

After speaking, Lian Feng winked at the butler standing at the door, “See the guest out.”

Receiving the hint, the butler immediately walked to Dante’s side, made a gesture of invitation, and politely but firmly issued an eviction order.

Dante still stood firmly in place, with no intention of leaving. He took two steps forward, looked up at Lian Feng, and smiled slightly.

Lian Feng frowned, not understanding Dante’s intention.

At this moment, Dante took out a document from his briefcase and held it in front of him.

“Do you know what this is?” he asked Lian Feng.

Lian Feng’s expression became serious, and he pursed his lips without saying a word. He vaguely had a bad feeling in his heart, but he didn’t dare to think about it.

Dante continued, “This is a joint resolution from the shareholders of the Lian Family Group, removing Mr. Lian Feng from all positions in the Lian Family Group.”

“How is that possible? How could they sign this?” Lian Feng asked urgently, his face flushed, his chest rising and falling with heavy breaths.

Dante turned a deaf ear and took out another document.

“This is a share transfer agreement signed by Lian Yishan himself. His shares all belong to—Lian Xun.”

Hearing this, Lian Feng went even more insane, roaring uncontrollably, “Impossible, this is impossible. The old man would rather die than sign it for me, how could he give it to Lian Xun so easily?”

“The old man is well hidden by me, no one can find him, no one can find him.” Lian Feng ran downstairs with a deranged expression, snatched the documents from Dante’s hand.

He repeatedly confirmed that the signature was real, and the seal was also real.

    Everything came too suddenly.

The fortress he had painstakingly built up over the years collapsed completely at this moment.

The things he had tried so hard to obtain with all his means actually fell into Lian Xun’s pocket so easily.

Lian Feng couldn’t understand why things had turned out this way. He grabbed Dante’s collar, forced him back two steps, and asked through gritted teeth, “Weren’t you helping me all along? What are you doing now?”

Dante smiled, and a cold glint burst out from his deep eyes under his glasses.

“Oh right, I came here this time to formally introduce myself to you. My name is Gao Jingqian, and I am Gao Yi’s son.”

These words were like a huge rock falling into the water, stirring up a thousand waves. Lian Feng’s pupils suddenly dilated, his whole body shook, and the expression on his face could no longer be controlled, revealing disbelief, followed by panic, fear, and anger.

“You, you guys, plotted against me together!” Lian Feng pointed at the three people standing side by side, his throat bursting out with an angry voice filled with extreme hatred.

Lian Xun looked at his crazy and ridiculous appearance, a sarcastic smile appeared on the corner of his lips, and he exclaimed, “Lian Feng, you’re as stupid as ever!”

He was not only stupid, but also particularly hardworking. However, the more a stupid person works hard, the more counterproductive it becomes.

He committed evil deeds with his real name, so the leader of the kidnappers left him with a handle. He was eager for quick success and trusted and heavily relied on Gao Jingqian without knowing his background, so the petty things he did such as privately changing project budgets and misappropriating public funds were made public.

Having touched everyone’s cake, the other shareholders of the Lian Family Group naturally couldn’t tolerate him.

As for Lian Yishan, Lian Feng, for some unknown reason, actually imprisoned him in the wine cellar where Lian Xun had been imprisoned seven years ago.

Lian Xun and Qi Luzhi came back to the Lian family today with Gao Jingqian.

Lian Xun guessed that Lian Yishan must still be somewhere in the house, but if he went to find him himself, he would inevitably be monitored and blocked by Lian Feng everywhere. So he first secretly sent Gao Jingqian in to find him, while he diverted Lian Feng’s attention.

With Lian Yishan’s personal seal stamped on the contract, it was a foregone conclusion that Lian Xun would inherit the Lian Family Group.

Lian Feng became penniless overnight, without even half a chance to turn things around. He gave up all hope and lunged towards Lian Xun with a ferocious look, “I’ll kill you!”

The hatred and anger in Lian Xun’s heart had also been suppressed for a long time. He raised his fist and smashed it at Lian Feng, each punch carrying force, each one aimed to kill.

The black-clothed men around him saw Lian Feng being beaten and swarmed up. Qi Luzhi and Gao Jingqian also joined the battle, protecting Lian Xun.

For a time, the hall was filled with the sounds of chairs breaking and bottles shattering, a chaotic mess.

The servants who were hiding in the dark and watching the show were like frightened birds, scattering and fleeing. Who cared if their master would be beaten to death? They only hoped that this melee wouldn’t affect them.

Lian Feng was pinned to the ground by Lian Xun, beaten black and blue, with a crooked mouth and slanted eyes, unable to fight back.

Lian Xun had vented enough and stood up from Lian Feng, looking down at him and saying, “I won’t kill you. Just stay in prison and wait for the final verdict in fear and nightmares every day.”

Lian Feng lay on the ground, his hateful eyes wishing he could stare a hole in Lian Xun’s body. He gnashed his back teeth, but he was powerless.

Lian Xun took out his phone and made a call to someone. A cold light flashed in Lian Feng’s eyes. He seized the opportunity to pull out a mini pistol from his waist, aimed it at Lian Xun, and pulled the trigger.

    “Careful!”

A heartbreaking cry seemed to come from a distant horizon, followed by a piercing gunshot, which was particularly abrupt in the quiet night.

The phone in Lian Xun’s hand fell to the ground, and he watched helplessly as Qi Luzhi blocked in front of him, slowly falling down with the sound of the gunshot.
