MLROCSHR Chapter 96
by VolareChapter 96: Unknown Secrets
Trapped in this tiny space all day, Lian Xun was incredibly bored. He discussed with Qi Luzhi his desire to return to the Lian family as soon as possible.
Qi Luzhi flatly refused, “No, your injuries haven’t healed yet. Besides, without absolute certainty of dealing with Lian Feng, it’s too dangerous to go back now.”
Lian Xun took out a USB flash drive to show him, “I have this, enough to send him to prison.”
Any one of the pieces of evidence inside was enough for Lian Feng to die eight hundred times over.
Qi Luzhi pondered for a moment, then shook his head, “Still not appropriate. It’s unknown whether he has other forces behind him, and there’s no news of your father…”
“I can’t wait any longer,” Lian Xun interrupted him. “Qi-gege, time is of the essence, I must go back as soon as possible.”
It wasn’t just for revenge; Lian Yishan had been missing for days. Lian Xun said he didn’t care, but deep down, he couldn’t help but worry.
Qi Luzhi stared into Lian Xun’s eyes and asked him, “Do you really have to go back?”
“I have to go back,” Lian Xun nodded firmly.
After a long silence, Qi Luzhi pulled him into his arms. “Alright, I’ll go with you.”
No matter the dangers ahead, he would never let Lian Xun face them alone again.
As dusk was approaching, Lian Xun and Qi Luzhi stood side by side at the gate of the Lian Family Manor/Estate.
The housekeeper frantically climbed to the second floor, arrived at Lian Yishan’s former study, pushed the door open, and fell onto the dark red velvet carpet.
“Young Master Lian Feng, the, the young master isn’t dead, he’s back.”
“What?” Lian Feng suddenly looked up, a complicated light flashing in his eyes.
Lian Xun and Qi Luzhi stepped into the hall. On both sides stood a row of bodyguards in black suits, staring intently at the two.
Lian Xun smiled wryly, finding it both ridiculous and pathetic that he was being guarded against in his own home.
Qi Luzhi secretly squeezed his hand, using his eyes to tell him: I’m here.
Lian Feng stood at the second-floor railing, looking down at Lian Xun standing in the center of the hall, his unwillingness and murderous intent fully displayed.
He chuckled coldly, his voice echoing in the hall: “Good brother, it would have been better if you had obediently died outside. What are you coming back for? There’s no place for you in the Lian family anymore.”
Lian Xun raised his head, his gaze like a knife shooting towards Lian Feng, “Where’s Father? Where have you hidden him?”
“He’s sick. I’ve just placed him in a quiet place to recover.”
Lian Xun naturally didn’t believe this, but asking Lian Feng wouldn’t get him the truth. He might as well go look for himself later.
Lian Xun glanced at the menacing men in black and questioned Lian Feng, “What is the meaning of this?”
Lian Feng laughed heartily, his words mocking, “Are you asking the obvious? Brother, I didn’t expect you to dare to return to the Lian family.”
He was also quite frank, not even bothering to pretend, making it clear that he wouldn’t let Lian Xun leave alive.
Lian Yishan was already a cripple; now he, Lian Feng, had the final say in the Lian family. Of course, he had nothing to fear, so why bother with the boring charade of brotherly harmony?
Lian Xun wasn’t flustered at all. He stared sharply at Lian Feng and directly questioned him, “Seven years ago, what happened at the old Lian family house? Do you still remember?”
The smile on Lian Feng’s face froze for a moment, but he quickly returned to normal. “You know everything? I’m very sorry about your mother’s matter.” He changed the subject, a hint of disgust flashing across his face. “But your mother deserved it too, a slutty woman, her death was not a pity.”
“Don’t you dare insult my mother,” Lian Xun’s eyes burned with a bone-deep hatred, and he was about to rush to the second floor.
The men in black on both sides surged forward, surrounding the two in a tight circle, ready to attack.
Qi Luzhi grabbed his arm and whispered, “Lian Xun, don’t be impulsive.”
Lian Xun stared at Lian Feng with bloodshot eyes, wishing he could tear him into pieces.
Lian Feng was still laughing maniacally, seemingly feeling very happy, as if he had heard a particularly funny joke.
After he had laughed enough, he looked at Lian Xun again, his tone pitiful, “It seems you really don’t know anything. Then I’ll tell you another truth.”
That day, it wasn’t Lian Xun’s mother who accidentally saw Lian Feng kill Gao Yi, but Lian Feng who actually caught them having an affair.
Lian Feng had a conflict with Gao Yi and accidentally killed him. Lian Xun’s mother went mad on the spot, disregarding her own reputation and the Lian family’s, insisting on calling the police. Lian Feng had no choice but to do it once and for all and take care of her as well.
Afterwards, Lian Feng had a bold idea. He secretly took Gao Yi’s hair and did a DNA test with Lian Xun, discovering a shocking secret.
Lian Xun wasn’t Lian Yishan’s blood at all, but Gao Yi’s child.
He went to his father excitedly to tell him the truth, but Lian Yishan scolded him and ordered him to keep the secret to himself, not to tell anyone.
It turned out that Lian Yishan knew everything, but because he loved Lian Xun’s mother too much, he pretended to turn a blind eye.
But deep down, he hated it. Watching Gao Yi and Lian Xun’s mother die one after another, he felt both heartbroken and despicably relieved. He couldn’t face that side of himself, and in order to bury the truth forever, he fled to a foreign country in a panic.
Because of this matter, Lian Feng hated Lian Xun even more. Why should an outsider occupy the identity of the young master of the Lian family and even get a share of the family assets in the future?
Therefore, Lian Feng encouraged the other younger siblings to find fault with Lian Xun, bully him, beat him, and curse him to die quickly.
Every word Lian Feng said was like an extremely sharp ice pick piercing Lian Xun’s heart, making his whole body tremble with cold.
“Impossible, impossible, you’re lying to me.”
Lian Xun’s eyes were empty and confused, as if everything he had just heard was like a nightmare, making him unable to believe or accept it.
His mother was such a gentle and kind woman, how could she do such a thing?
Seeing Lian Xun’s struggling and painful appearance, a smug smile appeared on Lian Feng’s face. “You should thank me for letting you die knowing the truth, instead of going to Hell confused.”
Qi Luzhi put the dazed Lian Xun into his arms, gently comforting him, “Don’t listen to his nonsense, wake up, don’t forget the purpose of our visit.”
Then he looked coldly at Lian Feng and chuckled, “You don’t really think we would dare to come back without any preparation, do you?”
Qi Luzhi took out a stack of papers from his pocket and threw them towards the second floor, “Take a good look at your ‘achievements’ over the years. It’s you who should go to Hell.”
The snow-white papers fluttered in the air, then fell to the ground like feathers.
One of the men in black gathered the papers from the ground and respectfully handed them to Lian Feng upstairs.
Lian Feng looked at the two downstairs suspiciously, took the stack of papers, and flipped through them one by one, his face getting darker and darker.
