    Chapter 94: Reunion

Lian Xun threw down the lifebuoy in his hand, his eyes as sharp as cold stars. He had just taken a step forward when four or five lackeys surrounded him as if facing a formidable enemy, their gun muzzles all pointed at him.

“Don’t shoot! Don’t hurt him!” the head of the kidnappers shouted anxiously.

He still needed Lian Xun to exchange for ransom, and absolutely could not allow any mistakes to occur at this critical juncture.

The lackeys exchanged glances, not daring to act rashly.

Lian Xun stood still, his gaze coldly sweeping over the crowd, settling on the head of the kidnappers, the corner of his mouth curving into a disdainful arc, “What do you want to do again?”

The head of the kidnappers walked forward, a kind false smile plastered on his face, “I don’t want to do anything. I plan to let you go.”

Lian Xun looked at him suspiciously.

The head of the kidnappers continued, “You should thank your lover who values you as much as their own life. They’ve offered eight hundred million dollars to save your life. If I still didn’t release you, wouldn’t I be too ignorant to appreciate favors?”

“So much money, I might not be able to earn it even if I worked hard for ten lifetimes.” His eyes were full of greed as he slowly approached Lian Xun with a greasy grin, “Be good and come with me. You’ll be able to see your beloved good brother later.”

“Hmph, do you think I’ll believe you?”

Lian Xun looked wary, retreating as the enemy advanced, carefully backing toward the cabin door.

These kidnappers had guns but didn’t dare to fire them, so he didn’t have much to worry about.

As the two sides were deadlocked, Lian Xun seized the opportunity, rushing towards the lackey closest to him with lightning speed, knocking him down with a punch. The lackey staggered back a few steps, crashed into the railing, and actually slipped and fell into the sea.

Seeing this, the kidnappers all raised their guns, but the head kidnapper’s orders prevented them from easily opening fire, forcing them to fight hand-to-hand, which greatly restricted their movements for a time.

Lian Xun was like a nimble leopard, darting through the crowd, each strike accurately hitting the kidnappers’ vital points.

The kidnappers were caught off guard and could only dodge in a sorry state.

Fueled by a strong will to survive, Lian Xun’s eyes turned bloodshot. Before long, seven or eight lackeys had collapsed on the deck, unconscious.

The head of the kidnappers scolded in frustration, “A bunch of useless trash.”

If Lian Xun really escaped, wouldn’t his last two hundred million go down the drain? He couldn’t possibly let the cooked duck fly away.

The head of the kidnappers gritted his teeth, rolled up his sleeves, and charged toward Lian Xun, shouting.

Lian Xun coldly snorted and fearlessly met the challenge. It was time to settle the score for the humiliation and beatings he had suffered these past few days.

But he had overestimated the head of the kidnapper’s strength, or underestimated the magnitude of his own resentment. After only a few moves, the head of the kidnappers was pinned to the ground, his hands twisted behind his back.

“Young Master, Young Master, spare me! I was just following orders! I… I’ll let you go now, please spare me.” The head of the kidnappers lay on the ground in a sorry state, all his arrogant bluster gone, replaced by a face full of fear.

Why hadn’t anyone told him that Young Master Lian had such good skills? Thinking about what he had done to him in the past two days, the head of the kidnappers couldn’t help but feel a chill in his heart.

Lian Xun looked down at the head of the kidnappers, his voice cold, “Now you know to beg for mercy? Sorry, it’s too late.”

Lian Xun grabbed a rope, tied the head kidnapper’s hands behind his back, and lifted him up, about to throw him into the sea.

The head of the kidnappers broke out in a cold sweat, begging for mercy repeatedly, his voice cracking.

“Don’t kill me! I can give you evidence of Lian Feng’s involvement in organized crime! Don’t you want to bring him down?”

Lian Xun’s raised hands paused, and he threw the man back onto the deck.

“What evidence? Let me see it.”

The head of the kidnappers gasped for air, indicating for Lian Xun to search his pockets, “The USB flash drive in my pocket contains all the transaction records between us.”

Lian Xun slowly stepped forward and indeed found a mini USB flash drive in his coat pocket. He stood up and kicked the head of the kidnappers hard in the thigh, “Password.”

“756…400” The head of the kidnappers writhed on the ground, baring his teeth.

Fortunately, he had kept something back, or his life would really have been lost here today.

“If you dare to lie to me, you’re dead!”

Lian Xun kicked the head of the kidnappers again and turned to go into the cabin to find his phone, intending to plug in the USB flash drive to take a look.

But the phone was long dead. Helpless, he had to put the phone and the USB flash drive into his pocket, and then carefully hide the tie clip he found in the box close to his body, returning to the deck.

The head of the kidnappers smiled ingratiatingly, assuring him again and again, “Young Master Lian, I really didn’t lie to you. I swear on my life.”

“No need.” Lian Xun lifted the head of the kidnappers up, a smile on his lips, but the look in his eyes was more terrifying than the Yama of Hell, “You like feeding the fish so much, I’ll be merciful and fulfill your wish.”

With that, he threw the head of the kidnappers into the sea without hesitation.

Desperate cries for help came from behind, but Lian Xun did not turn around. He jumped directly onto the speedboat that the head of the kidnappers had driven, the engine roared, and headed straight for the shore.

Qi Luzhi had just gotten off the plane and finally received good news—

They might have found the place where Lian Xun was being held.

He didn’t dare to delay for a moment, heading straight to the scene, his heart beating anxiously, nervous and delighted.

The speedboat stopped in front of a deserted beach. Lian Xun staggered off the boat, the taut string in his heart instantly loosening. His body suddenly felt exhausted, as if pressed down by a thousand-pound stone.

He could no longer support himself, his vision went black, and he fell to the ground.

Qi Luzhi arrived at the beach with his men and immediately saw the figure lying beside the speedboat, ragged and battered.

His heart sank, followed by an unspeakable surge of emotion. He practically ran towards Lian Xun, calling out his name loudly.

“Lian Xun!” Qi Luzhi rushed to Lian Xun’s side, carefully holding him in his arms, afraid that using too much force would hurt him again.

Lian Xun’s face was pale, his lips chapped, his body covered in bruises and cuts of all sizes. Especially the conspicuous knife scar on his face, which made Qi Luzhi’s heart ache.

But his faint breathing was still there, which made Qi Luzhi breathe a slight sigh of relief.

“I’m sorry, I’m late.” Qi Luzhi apologized, trembling, and leaned down to kiss Lian Xun’s forehead.

The sea breeze blew, chilling to the bone, but Qi Luzhi couldn’t feel it. All his attention was on Lian Xun.

The feeling of something lost and found was indescribable, filling his whole body, so intense that his bones ached.
