MLROCSHR Chapter 77

Conference Room.
Qi Luzhi’s phone rang again. He glanced at it and ignored it.
It was Wei Xueming again, harassing him with calls whenever he had free time, wanting him to help introduce him to An Jinnan.
Qi Luzhi directly pressed the power button, tossed the phone onto the table, and scanned the employees who had just spoken. “Continue with your presentation!”
After the meeting ended, it was lunchtime. Qi Luzhi turned his phone back on and immediately saw a message from Lian Xun, a slight smile tugging at his lips.
[Lian Xun: I ordered your favorite dishes today, can I invite my dear Qi-gege to lunch?]
[Lian Xun: Selfie with lunch.JPG]
Qi Luzhi clicked on the picture, his eyes not even noticing the food container on the left side of the photo, completely captivated by the bright smile of the radiant young man.
He long-pressed to save the photo, then replied to the message.
[Qi Luzhi: I’m honored, I’ll be right there.]
[Lian Xun: Waiting for you (づ ̄ 3 ̄)づ]
Everyone in the conference room had already left. Qi Luzhi got up and headed towards the elevator.
“Where is President Qi going?” An Jinnan happened to stop Qi Luzhi at the elevator entrance, smiled, and asked, “Is it convenient to have lunch together? My treat.”
Qi Luzhi glanced at the numbers rolling at the top of the elevator, his voice icy. “It’s not convenient.”
“Hmph, I knew you’d say that.”
An Jinnan pouted, complaining, “President Qi, you’re really heartless. Ever since you publicly rejected me that day, you haven’t even bothered to pretend at the company. Sigh~ It’s harder to see you these days than climbing to heaven.”
“Miss An.” Qi Luzhi glanced at An Jinnan, his tone stern. “Since you clearly know my attitude, why bother hanging yourself on one tree?”
“Do you think I’m stupid? I thought about it, no one has ever seen your ‘air lover.’ Maybe she doesn’t even exist.”
“You must have made it up on purpose to reject me, right?” An Jinnan said with certainty. “I don’t care, I’m having lunch with you today!”
“Ding—”
The elevator doors opened. Qi Luzhi was about to step in when he looked up and saw the person inside, momentarily surprised. “Why are you here?”
Lian Xun had come to pick up Qi Luzhi for lunch. Seeing him standing with An Jinnan, his eyes widened.
“You guys…?”
Lian Xun pointed back and forth between the two of them, questioning.
An Jinnan politely and elegantly moved closer to Qi Luzhi, putting on a “first wife” act. “Isn’t this President Lian? Are you looking for President Qi? Sorry, we’re about to go to lunch together, so you might have to come again this afternoon.”
Qi Luzhi’s face immediately darkened. He cast a resentful glance at Lian Xun, as if to say, *It’s not me, I didn’t do it!*
Lian Xun coughed lightly, hiding his almost uncontrollable laughter, then looked at An Jinnan with feigned surprise and regret.
“Really? Oh dear, it seems I’ve come at an inopportune time.”
“Sorry, President Lian.” An Jinnan looked at Qi Luzhi, deliberately asking, “By the way, President Lian, you and President Qi are so close, have you ever seen the lover he mentioned? I’m really curious what kind of person she is.”
“Ah? This…” Lian Xun smiled sheepishly. “No… no, President Qi keeps his private life so private, how would I have seen her?”
“Really?” An Jinnan asked again, “Do you think President Qi is joking with us, and there’s no lover at all?”
“Heh… hehe.” Lian Xun laughed awkwardly. “President Qi doesn’t need to lie to us, right? Although I haven’t seen her, I know she’s real. He… he just likes to keep a low profile.”
“Really?” An Jinnan lowered her eyes in thought, a flash of disappointment crossing her face.
Lian Xun made way, “Come on, come on, don’t just stand at the door, come on in.”
“?” Qi Luzhi frowned, not understanding what Lian Xun was up to.
“Let’s go, President Qi.” An Jinnan looked at Qi Luzhi flirtatiously, and even deliberately hooked his arm as she pushed him into the elevator.
Lian Xun took the initiative to move to the corner, making room for them.
Qi Luzhi was very unhappy. He coldly shook off An Jinnan’s hand and glared at Lian Xun in the corner.
Seeing him and An Jinnan like this, Lian Xun wasn’t jealous at all? Not only did he not help him find a way to get rid of An Jinnan, but he was also watching the fun?
He deserved to be taught a lesson!
Lian Xun pursed his lips, trying to suppress his laughter. Catching Qi Luzhi’s sharp gaze, he gestured with his eyes for him to leave now.
Qi Luzhi understood immediately.
An Jinnan’s eyes were glued to Qi Luzhi, gloating at how obediently he was standing there.
Hmph, what a hypocrite. If he really didn’t want to have lunch with her, he’d get off now!
In the split second before the elevator doors closed, Qi Luzhi took a long stride out of the elevator. “I think I’d better take the stairs.”
“Hey…”
An Jinnan panicked, recklessly trying to block the elevator doors with her arm, getting pinched hard.
Ignoring the pain, she squeezed out of the slowly reopening door and went straight for Qi Luzhi. “Then I’ll take the stairs too.”
“…”
Lian Xun was dumbfounded, watching the elevator doors close with only him inside, the numbers representing the floors on the screen constantly changing.
32, 31, 30…
Wait, his original plan was for Qi Luzhi to take the stairs, then he would hold An Jinnan back. By the time Qi Luzhi got to his company, he would go back, and no one would suspect anything. Perfect!
But what was happening now?
It would seem a little deliberate if he turned back to find Qi Luzhi again.
Sigh! He hoped Qi Luzhi could successfully shake off An Jinnan, this clingy pest.
An Jinnan reached the stairwell, Qi Luzhi was already almost on the next floor. She hurriedly followed, “President Qi, wait for me.”
“Ah—”
She was only focused on Qi Luzhi and accidentally slipped, falling straight down the stairs.
Large bruises instantly appeared on her calf, and the skin was scraped off her knee in an area the size of a palm.
An Jinnan was in so much pain that she lost her voice, then cried out, “Qi Luzhi, I’m injured, I can’t move, aren’t you coming back? Waaah—”
Qi Luzhi thought it was just another one of her little tricks and didn’t want to pay attention, but her voice didn’t sound fake.
Oh well, he should go back and take a look.
Qi Luzhi turned back upstairs. An Jinnan had indeed fallen quite badly. She was sitting on the ground, clutching her right leg, looking at Qi Luzhi with tear-filled eyes.
“Are you okay?” Qi Luzhi frowned slightly, standing a meter away from An Jinnan and looking down at her.
An Jinnan pitifully sniffled, “No, I’m not okay. I can’t move, it hurts so much, I hope I didn’t break my leg?”
Qi Luzhi: “I’ll get someone to take you to the hospital.”
“No.” An Jinnan grabbed the hem of Qi Luzhi’s windbreaker, her watery eyes pleading and demanding. “I don’t want anyone else, I want you to take me!”
