Chapter 76: You Must Be Crazy

It was two in the morning, and Wei Xueming was still pestering them. It seemed that if he didn’t get the love guru’s advice, this wouldn’t end tonight.

“You have to help me!” Wei Xueming insisted relentlessly. “Can I see her tomorrow?”

“What… what should I wear? Should I wear my doctor’s uniform? Would that be too formal? But my casual clothes are all too…”

“Ah, my heart is beating a little fast, is this normal?”

    “…”

Qi Luzhi pursed his thin lips, arms crossed over his chest, remaining indifferent no matter what Wei Xueming said.

He had endured Wei Xueming’s endless chatter for three whole hours; not kicking him out was already a great courtesy.

“It’s too late, let’s rest first.” Lian Xun’s brain was a bit muddled, and he couldn’t bear it any longer. He grabbed Qi Luzhi, intending to go upstairs.

“Don’t go!” Wei Xueming darted in front of them, still full of energy. “You haven’t told me how you’re going to help me yet!”

Lian Xun yawned, helplessly saying, “This needs careful consideration. You’ve waited so many days, so what’s the rush? Can’t you see we’re tired?”

    Lacking any sense of propriety!

“Uh…” Wei Xueming looked at the exhausted pair in front of him, puzzled. “You’re tired so early? It’s only two o’clock.”

“Only two o’clock?” Lian Xun snapped. “It’s already two o’clock! Do you know how much of our time you’re taking up, Doctor Wei?”

A perfectly good romantic date night was completely ruined, and Lian Xun felt frustrated.

“Let me through.” He waved his hand, grabbed Qi Luzhi’s arm, and went around him, heading straight for the second floor.

“Find a guestroom yourself,” Qi Luzhi said, tossing the words over his shoulder, his feet moving even faster than Lian Xun’s.

“Oh, okay,” Wei Xueming replied, then shouted after their retreating figures, “Then I’ll take that as you agreeing!”

Lian Xun and Qi Luzhi didn’t respond, quickly disappearing around the corner of the second floor.

Wei Xueming looked at the photo on his phone, smiling like a lovestruck young boy, and muttered to himself, “I’ll see you soon, Mermaid!”

The empty living room was boring with just him alone. He shrugged and went upstairs to find a guestroom to sleep in.

Having been to Qi Luzhi’s villa several times, Wei Xueming was quite familiar with the place.

He casually pushed open a door, humming a song, and turned on the light, only to be startled by something on the bed.

“Holy crap!!!! What is that thing?”

Sitting on the bed was a ‘child’ wearing a cute onesie and a knitted hat, facing away from him, doing something. The small back view was rather adorable.

    Wei Xueming was stunned!

Good heavens, these two, they even have a child now?

Who gave birth? And with whom?

How come he didn’t know anything about it?

Wei Xueming tiptoed closer, and just as he reached the bedside, the ‘child’ on the bed noticed his presence, glanced back, and sprang up from the bed. Before he could get a clear look, the creature was already on the chandelier above.

“Holy crap!!!” Wei Xueming was startled again, patted his frightened heart, and let out a long breath.

    “So it’s just a monkey.”

Wangcai looked very frightened and wary at the unfamiliar face, “Squeak, squeak—” at Wei Xueming.

The sound of slippers came from the doorway, and Lian Xun appeared in the doorway wearing pajamas. Wangcai immediately jumped into his arms.

“Sorry, I forgot to tell you, Wangcai likes to play in this guestroom, you should stay in another one,” Lian Xun apologized to Wei Xueming, not forgetting to comfort the frightened little monkey.

This room was Wangcai’s first bedroom. Although it now had a more professional and comfortable place to live, it still liked to come here to play.

Wei Xueming was taken aback. “Wait, you guys have a monkey? Is that even allowed?”

Raising cats, dogs, and rabbits wasn’t unusual, but raising a monkey was a first.

“What monkey? It has a name, it’s called Wangcai,” Lian Xun corrected him.

“Okay, okay, Wangcai, kind of… cute!” Wei Xueming chuckled. “I thought you guys had a kid.”

“The second-to-last room at the end of the hallway is empty, go there,” Lian Xun stepped aside from the doorway to let Wei Xueming out.

    “Okay.”

As Wei Xueming passed Lian Xun, Wangcai excitedly bared its teeth at him again. Lian Xun used a lot of effort to hold it down, and hurriedly turned back to put it back on the bed, warning it softly, “Wangcai, be good, I’ll give you extra treats tomorrow.”

Hearing about the treats, Wangcai calmed down, obediently sitting on the head of the bed, watching Lian Xun leave.

Lian Xun escorted Wei Xueming all the way to the guestroom door, thoughtfully opening the door for him. “Go on in.”

“Thanks.” Wei Xueming entered the room, then suddenly turned to look at Lian Xun, his expression probing.

“Do you… do you want to have a child with Qi Luzhi?”

    “What?” Lian Xun was dumbfounded.

Wei Xueming’s eyes twinkled mischievously. “There’s really technology like that now, you know.”

“You must be crazy!” Lian Xun slammed the door shut with a “bang”. “Studying medicine has rotted your brain!”

    *

The next morning, as soon as Wei Xueming woke up, the first thing he did was to find Qi Luzhi and Lian Xun to be his matchmakers.

He couldn’t wait to see his Mermaid.

The entire villa was empty, Qi Luzhi’s home was deserted.

Wei Xueming furiously called Qi Luzhi, “Hey, you’re not being a good brother! Did you deliberately hide from me by leaving so early?”

Qi Luzhi was enjoying a delicious meal with Lian Xun in an elegant French Restaurant, and replied faintly, “No, we already had something to do today.”

Wei Xueming: “What could you possibly have to do on the weekend?”

Qi Luzhi and Lian Xun exchanged a smile.

Dating is also a very important thing!

Wei Xueming: “Then what am I supposed to do?”

“Once you’re up, just leave yourself, what, did you expect me to send you off?” Qi Luzhi paused. “Oh, right, before you leave, help us feed Wangcai.”

“Wangcai?” Wei Xueming thought for a moment, “Oh, the monkey from yesterday.”

“Alright, if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up now, bye-bye.” After speaking, Qi Luzhi coldly hung up the phone.

Lian Xun picked up the steaming coffee and took a sip, looking at Qi Luzhi, feeling a bit sorry. “Is it really okay to just leave him like that?”

Qi Luzhi smiled nonchalantly, “Don’t I know him? He’s probably over the moon right now, let’s observe for a couple of days first.”

    “Okay,” Lian Xun nodded.

“Where do you want to go after breakfast?” Qi Luzhi asked gently.

    “Hmm… haven’t decided yet.”

Having come out in such a rush, Lian Xun really didn’t know where to go for a moment.

Qi Luzhi: “Then just leave everything to me, and follow me, okay?”

“Okay!” Lian Xun replied with a grin, taking advantage of the moment to sneak a kiss on Qi Luzhi’s cheek.

A warm and romantic breakfast ended, and the two of them put on masks, holding hands as they walked out of the Restaurant.

Today, the sun was shining brightly, especially suitable for a date.

On the other side of the villa, however, there was chaos, Wei Xueming chasing Wangcai up and down the stairs.

“You damn monkey, stop! Why aren’t you this eager when it comes to eating?”
