MLROCSHR Chapter 67
by VolareChapter 67 Wangcai (Lucky)
In reality, raising a small macaque isn’t entirely impossible.
It’s just that the procedures are quite troublesome.
You need to apply to the local forestry administration for a “Wildlife Domestication and Breeding License.”
You also need to obtain other epidemic prevention certificates and other miscellaneous documents.
Most importantly, you must have sufficient financial resources to provide the little macaque with a suitable fixed living place and equip it with professional breeders to take care of it.
These things aren’t difficult for them; they just need to find someone to handle it.
Qi Luzhi earnestly confirmed with Lian Xun again and again, “Do you really want to raise it?”
“Mmm, mmm.” Lian Xun nodded like crazy.
He had always wanted to raise a pet with Qi Luzhi. Now, they unexpectedly encountered this little macaque, and it was so lovable; wasn’t this a coincidence?
The little macaque seemed to understand Lian Xun’s words, obediently blinking its eyes at Qi Luzhi, as if saying, “Adopt me, I’m very well-behaved!”
Qi Luzhi rubbed his temples, seriously considering it for a moment.
“I can help you go through the procedures, but there’s one thing…” Qi Luzhi emphasized, “You take care of it yourself; I won’t be responsible for it.”
“You agreed?” Lian Xun’s eyes lit up. He dropped the little macaque and got up to give Qi Luzhi a big hug.
“Thank you, Brother Qi.”
“Between you and me, there’s no need to say thank you,” Qi Luzhi said, looking down at Lian Xun. “You said it yourself.”
“Then, instead of saying thank you, I’ll say I love you.”
Lian Xun planted a kiss on Qi Luzhi’s lips. “Brother Qi, I love you.”
“I know.”
Qi Luzhi raised his chin toward the little macaque’s direction, reminding Lian Xun, “Your little monkey is shivering; aren’t you going to take care of it?”
“Oh, right.” Lian Xun quickly let go of Qi Luzhi’s waist and turned to give the little macaque a bath.
A third of the water in the basin had been splashed out by the little fellow, and the remaining two-thirds had cooled down a bit. Lian Xun picked up the little macaque and changed the water to a fresh basin of hot water.
It was his first time taking care of a small animal, and one of a species he had never encountered before. Lian Xun’s movements were obviously a bit clumsy and awkward.
After finally finishing the bath, Lian Xun used a towel to dry the little macaque’s fur. Its little face was flushed red, making it look somewhat similar to a human baby.
They didn’t have any equipment at home, so they could only temporarily place the little macaque in an empty guestroom.
Lian Xun specially used a plastic box and soft clothes to build a temporary little nest for it, and then he went to the kitchen to scavenge for a pile of fruit.
Bananas, apples, strawberries…
He was afraid it would be hungry.
“Brother Qi, from now on, it’s a new member of our family. Let’s give it a name,” Lian Xun said, stroking the little macaque’s head adoringly, highly interested in this new family member.
“Sure, what do you think is a good name?”
Lian Xun pondered for a while, “How about… Wangcai (Lucky)?”
Qi Luzhi: “Why does that sound like a dog’s name?”
His eyes narrowed slightly, and some distant memories suddenly popped into his mind.
The name ‘Wangcai’ was something they had discussed when they were still in University, saying that if they raised a dog in the future, they would name it Wangcai.
He didn’t expect that what they were raising now wasn’t a dog, but a monkey.
But it wasn’t much different.
“Okay, let’s call it Wangcai,” Qi Luzhi compromised, gazing tenderly at Lian Xun, who was squatting on the ground teasing the monkey. “As long as you like it, you can call it anything.”
“Wangcai, Wangcai, your name is Wangcai from now on,” Lian Xun called out its new name to the little macaque again and again.
However, the little macaque didn’t seem to appreciate it.
It tilted its head, glancing sideways at Lian Xun, its eyes seeming to carry a hint of anger and speechlessness, as if it was very dissatisfied with this name.
“Wangcai.” Lian Xun was still excitedly teasing the little macaque. “Tsk, why did it suddenly stop paying attention to me?”
The little macaque climbed into the corner of the box, turned its back to Lian Xun, its little paws restlessly grabbing the cushion beneath it, its eyes full of grievance, but it didn’t dare to resist, and could only silently endure this name that didn’t match its identity at all.
“Stop playing and let it rest. We should go to sleep too,” Qi Luzhi stepped forward, grabbing Lian Xun’s arm and pulling him up.
“No, I want to play with it a little longer.” Lian Xun’s gaze was completely occupied by the adorable little macaque.
Qi Luzhi’s eyes darkened. He really didn’t want to admit that he was actually jealous of a monkey.
“Go back and sleep!”
Qi Luzhi domineeringly picked up Lian Xun, carried him on his shoulder, and ignored his struggles until he reached the Bedroom before putting him on the bed.
“That little fellow isn’t going to run away. You can play with it again tomorrow. Now, keep me company.”
Qi Luzhi propped himself up on one side of Lian Xun, while his other hand gently stroked Lian Xun’s cheeks, collarbones, chest muscles…
Then, he loosened the Pajamas belt around his waist and leaned down to gently bite his exposed Adam’s apple, which was clearly visible because he had tilted his head back.
The next morning.
The first thing Lian Xun did when he woke up was to check on Wangcai’s condition.
The little fellow was sleeping soundly, and even knew to grab a Blanket to cover himself, his body rising and falling slightly with his breathing, especially adorable.
Lian Xun looked at him, and his heart was about to melt.
He didn’t wake Wangcai. After having breakfast with Qi Luzhi, he left some food in Wangcai’s room and went to work.
Lian Xun hadn’t gone to the company for the past few days, so the relocation matters were naturally postponed again. He should be able to go to the new company to work next week.
Lian Xun thought about being able to go to and from work with Qi Luzhi again, and felt happy inside.
Over here, Qi Luzhi arrived at the company. Just as he stepped out of the Elevator, a slender hand blocked his way.
He turned his head to look, a trace of astonishment flashing in his eyes.
“Miss An, what are you doing here?”
The girl in front of him was wearing a light blue professional suit, her hair neatly pinned up, and she smiled at Qi Luzhi.
“President Qi, hello. I’m An Jinnan, a new employee in the marketing department.”
Qi Luzhi was very speechless inside.
He had only been away from the company for a few days. When did the marketing department get such an employee?
Although he had been mentally prepared, he still underestimated this girl’s persistence to think that An Jinnan would actually use this method to infiltrate the company in order to get close to him.
“President Qi, I’m new, and I’m not familiar with the business yet. I may have to trouble you to give me some guidance.”
An Jinnan took two steps forward, getting closer to Qi Luzhi. Beneath her seemingly polite smile was a deep desire to conquer.
Qi Luzhi suppressed the unhappiness in his heart and said coldly without any expression, “There are senior employees to guide you if you’re not familiar with the business. If there’s anything else you don’t understand, just ask Secretary Feng.”
An Jinnan was, after all, the daughter of the An Sheng Group. He still had to give her some face.
After finally getting rid of An Jinnan, Qi Luzhi returned to the Office and called Feng Nuo in immediately.
“Who recruited that An Jinnan?”
Li Yang, who happened to come in, said with a grin, “It was me, I recruited her. The daughter of the An Sheng Group, what great connections.”
Qi Luzhi’s temples throbbed, and his sharp gaze seemed to pierce through Li Yang.
He chuckled and said through gritted teeth, “You recruited her? You’re really good at finding trouble for me!”
