MLROCSHR Chapter 65
by VolareChapter 65: What Do You Like About Me
“Mingbao, I’ve been wanting to find you all these years to tell you the truth.
It’s not to ask you to forgive me, Auntie just…doesn’t want you to be affected by this and not be happy.”
Losing a child back then left a knot in her heart, which is why she persistently searched for Qi Luzhi for so many years.
“I don’t blame you.” Qi Luzhi said softly, his gaze falling on Lian Xun’s profile, a faint smile on his face. “Besides, I’m very happy every day now.”
“That’s good, that’s good.” Auntie, the director, looked at Qi Luzhi, then at Lian Xun, with a look of relief.
With the misunderstanding resolved, she had put a worry to rest, and she looked much better.
“Now that you’re here, don’t rush to leave. Stay for lunch.”
Auntie, the director, said, getting up to prepare.
Qi Luzhi was about to refuse, but Lian Xun tugged at his sleeve and replied with a smile, “Okay, then we’ll trouble you, Auntie.”
Before long, several steaming homemade dishes were laid out on the table.
It was obvious that Auntie, the director, had taken out all the good things from her house, but the dishes on the table were still simple and plain.
Qi Luzhi couldn’t help but frown.
It seemed that Auntie’s life wasn’t very good.
“Come on, eat more. I don’t have anything fancy here, and I don’t know if it suits your tastes.” Auntie, the director’s, warm smile carried a hint of embarrassment.
“It suits my taste, of course, it suits my taste. Auntie’s cooking is excellent.” Lian Xun was very supportive.
Qi Luzhi ate his food without showing any emotion, but suddenly, as if remembering something, he looked up and asked, “Auntie, I heard that the couple donated a large sum of money to the orphanage? How could it still be poorly managed and closed down?”
“Who told you that? What donation are you talking about?”
Qi Luzhi: “Xiao Pang said it.”
Auntie, the director, was stunned for a moment, then shook her head with a smile, “That child is always full of tall tales. Only someone as young as you would be fooled by him.”
Lian Xun chuckled.
So Qi Luzhi was so easily deceived even when he was a child.
The meal was enjoyable, and the few of them chatted about the little things in their lives, like family members who had reunited after a long separation.
Before leaving, Auntie, the director, stuffed Qi Luzhi and Lian Xun with a pile of things: dried meat, peanuts she had grown herself, and even a chicken from the yard, insisting that they take one with them.
“Auntie, that’s enough, it’s really too much.” Lian Xun busily put the chicken back in the cage, while clumsily taking the other things that Auntie, the director, was handing over.
Qi Luzhi watched from the side, a strange emotion welling up in his heart, warm and peaceful.
Perhaps, this was the feeling of family he had been searching for?
When they came out of Auntie, the director’s, house, it was already getting late. Lian Xun and Qi Luzhi, carrying large and small bags, said goodbye to her.
Qi Luzhi suddenly realized that the woman in front of him was no longer the young woman he remembered.
That thin and weak figure stood alone at the door of the small courtyard, looking particularly lonely.
Auntie, the director, had never married and had no children. She had dedicated her entire life to the orphanage, and now she had nothing left.
Qi Luzhi was deeply moved. He turned back and gave Auntie, the director, a hug.
“Auntie, Lian Xun and I will come to see you again when we have time.”
Auntie, the director’s, eyes suddenly welled up with tears. After a long pause, she said in a trembling voice, “Okay, from now on, treat this place as your own home. You can come whenever you want.”
After saying goodbye to Auntie, the director, Lian Xun and Qi Luzhi walked back along the deep alley.
Qi Luzhi seemed to be in a good mood, his steps light, and Lian Xun couldn’t quite keep up.
“Qi-gege, how was it? Wasn’t this trip worth it? Are you happy? Are you glad?”
Lian Xun quickly walked up to Qi Luzhi, tilting his head to ask him how he was feeling.
Qi Luzhi stopped, shifted the bags in his hands to his left hand, and then stretched out his right hand, trapping Lian Xun between him and the wall.
“Y-you, what do you want to do?” Lian Xun looked up, his eyes meeting Qi Luzhi’s.
Qi Luzhi stared into Lian Xun’s eyes, his gaze deep and affectionate. Suddenly, he lowered his head and pecked Lian Xun’s lips, then whispered, “Thank you, my darling Lian Xun.”
Lian Xun’s eyelashes fluttered as he returned Qi Luzhi’s kiss. “Between you and me, there’s never any need to say thank you.”
Qi Luzhi released his left hand, letting the bags in his hand fall to the ground. He wrapped his arms around Lian Xun’s waist and deepened the kiss.
His tongue swept across Lian Xun’s slightly open mouth, then gently bit his lower lip, sucking on it forcefully, causing Lian Xun to shudder.
Lian Xun was not to be outdone. He moved his hands up Qi Luzhi’s shoulders, tightly locked around his neck, and responded to Qi Luzhi with his own hot tongue.
Their lips and teeth intertwined, their souls mingled, and the ambiguity in the air reached its peak.
After a long time, the two of them broke apart, both panting for breath.
Qi Luzhi reached out his thumb to brush across Lian Xun’s red lips, asking in a low voice, “I’ve always been curious, what exactly do you like about me?”
He was gloomy, boring, and in the past, he was a penniless pauper.
Even now that he had money, it shouldn’t be considered a good point in the eyes of Lian Xun, this young master from a wealthy family.
“Because you are you, that’s why I like you. I like everything about you.”
Lian Xun’s eyes sparkled.
“Qi-gege, then what do you like about me?”
Qi Luzhi was stunned for a moment, then laughed.
Liking someone was just so inexplicable, without a reason.
Time was passing, everything was changing, but the love in his heart wouldn’t change, it would only deepen.
“Let’s go, let’s go back to the hotel first.” Qi Luzhi released Lian Xun and walked ahead. “Where are we going next? I’ll go with you.”
“Then I want to go skiing too. There aren’t any good ski resorts in Shangjiang, so why don’t we fly to Sapporo?”
Lian Xun jogged to catch up with him, walking side by side with Qi Luzhi.
“Okay, whatever you want.”
Who told him to promise Lian Xun that he would listen to his arrangements for these few days?
So even if Lian Xun wanted to go to the sky and pick the moon, he would have to accompany him to the end.
The two of them rarely put aside their work and went out to relax without any distractions, having a wild time for a few days, until they returned three days after the end of their vacation.
“I’m so tired. I didn’t expect that playing was also a physical activity.”
Lian Xun complained as he sank into the sofa.
“It is quite tiring. Then in the future, we won’t go out to play.” Qi Luzhi joked with a smile.
“That won’t do.”
Lian Xun sat up suddenly, just about to say something when a “bang–” came from upstairs.
Qi Luzhi and Lian Xun quickly silenced themselves. The two of them exchanged a look, their expressions becoming serious in unison, both looking towards the second floor.
They had only just returned home, and before they left, they had locked all the doors and windows. Under normal circumstances, there shouldn’t be any living things in the house.
So where did this sound come from?
“Rattle–”
There was another burst of noise.
Lian Xun lowered his voice and looked at Qi Luzhi, nervously saying, “What is it? Has a thief broken into the house?”
