MLROCSHR Chapter 2
by VolareChapter 2 Do You Still Love Me?
Lian Xun stretched his right hand out from under the covers, rubbed his head, frowned, and struggled to open his eyes, looking around.
What an unfamiliar room.
Where is this?
His brain stalled for a moment, and then Lian Xun seemed to remember something, suddenly sitting up in bed.
“Awake?” A cold voice came from the doorway.
Qi Luzhi was already dressed neatly, a well-tailored suit accentuating his already tall and straight figure. His expression was indifferent, his eyes clear and distant, and the cold aura around him was even more intimidating.
“Go wash up, you smell worse than a sewer that’s been blocked for a week.”
Qi Luzhi threw a set of Pajamas at Lian Xun and turned to leave the Bedroom again.
“Am I really that smelly?”
Lian Xun raised his arm and sniffed it. The smell of fermenting alcohol wasn’t pleasant, but it shouldn’t be as bad as Qi Luzhi said.
Also, how did this person become an ice block after not seeing each other for a few years? It’s kind of creepy.
Lian Xun felt a slight pang in his heart. The old Qi Luzhi was so gentle with him and would never have spoken to him like that.
But who can he blame? It was all his own fault.
Lian Xun smiled bitterly and got up to walk towards the Bathroom.
After finishing his shower, Lian Xun wandered around the Villa, drying his hair as he searched for Qi Luzhi’s figure.
He finally found Qi Luzhi in the Restaurant. The other man was sitting at the dining table, glanced at Lian Xun, and said in a cold tone, without a trace of emotion.
“Come eat breakfast.”
“After you finish eating, get out of my house!”
The smile that Lian Xun had just put on froze at the corner of his mouth. He coughed awkwardly and walked over to sit across from Qi Luzhi.
The atmosphere was eerily quiet. Lian Xun stole a glance at Qi Luzhi sitting opposite him. The other man was elegantly enjoying his breakfast, not even looking at him, as if there was no one else in the room.
Qi Luzhi had lost weight, and his features were sharper and more mature. He wondered if he had been doing well these past few years.
Lian Xun was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn’t notice the increasingly impatient look in the other man’s eyes.
“Are you going to eat or not? If not, get out now, don’t delay me from going to work later.”
“I’ll eat, I’ll eat now.” Lian Xun snapped back to reality, picked up the bowl in front of him, and took a sip of the egg drop soup.
Immediately, his brow furrowed so deeply that it could have pinched two flies to death.
Why is it salty?
He likes to drink sweet soup and hates salty egg drop soup the most.
Even if Qi Luzhi liked salty soup, he would always make a separate sweet portion for him to accommodate his taste.
Has Qi Luzhi forgotten? Or is he just unwilling to indulge him anymore?
Lian Xun lowered his eyes, unable to hide the disappointment in his eyes.
He endured his disgust and drank a few mouthfuls of the soup. For some reason, he tasted a hint of bitterness in the savory and salty soup.
“Qi Luzhi, do you still love me?”
Lian Xun suddenly dropped this bomb, and Qi Luzhi almost lost control of his expression.
“No.”
Two words without the slightest hesitation.
Sure enough, even though he knew this would be the result, Lian Xun couldn’t help but feel a sharp pain in his heart when he heard it with his own ears.
He was only focused on feeling sad and didn’t notice the slightly trembling fingertips of the person opposite him.
Lian Xun adjusted his mood and looked up at Qi Luzhi again, his expression serious.
“If I said I wanted to start over with you, would you believe me?”
“No.”
Two more cold words.
“I know that whatever I say now will seem pale and weak, but I’m telling the truth. I haven’t stopped thinking about you for all these years, I dream of returning to your side, I…”
“Enough!” Qi Luzhi interrupted Lian Xun angrily, “You can save your sweet talk for someone else. After what you did back then, there’s no possibility between us.”
“No, I never thought about breaking up with you.” Lian Xun said anxiously, trying to explain.
He was forced to go abroad back then, and their breakup was unclear. He had so many things he wanted to say to Qi Luzhi.
“Stop talking, I don’t want to hear your excuses.”
Qi Luzhi scrutinized Lian Xun, his eyes filled with nothing but disgust and defensiveness, “Your sudden appearance in my private Company Underground Parking Garage can’t be a coincidence, right? Tell me, what are you planning to do again?”
“I… I just wanted to take a peek at you.”
Lian Xun turned his head away, not daring to look into Qi Luzhi’s eyes. That look was too sharp, stabbing his heart with pain.
Since returning to the country three months ago, he had been too busy with company matters to spare any time, only occasionally squeezing out time to go to Qi Luzhi’s company and stake out in the Company Underground Parking Garage to secretly look at him.
He had originally planned to wait until everything had settled down before trying to get back together with Qi Luzhi, but he didn’t expect to get drunk last night and mistakenly send himself to Qi Luzhi’s bed.
“Lian Xun, you’re still the same as before, good at lying.”
Qi Luzhi chuckled, apparently not believing a word Lian Xun said.
Lian Xun’s heart tightened, so he simply shut his mouth, knowing that anything he said now would sound like an excuse.
Having eaten almost enough, Qi Luzhi picked up his spoon and took a sip of the soup, then frowned slightly, looking at Lian Xun’s bowl, which was already half-empty, and asked, “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“About what?”
Lian Xun was at a loss, not understanding what Qi Luzhi was asking.
“The soup.”
Qi Luzhi switched their bowls and began to drink Lian Xun’s half bowl of soup as if nothing had happened.
Lian Xun was stunned for two seconds, then picked up the bowl in front of him and took a sip, almost crying with emotion.
It’s sweet!
Does this mean that Qi Luzhi still cares about him?
“Don’t misunderstand, it’s just that we ran out of salt at home, so I put sugar in yours.” Qi Luzhi explained expressionlessly.
“Stop pretending, you clearly made the sweet soup specifically for me.” Lian Xun teased recklessly, earning himself a glare from Qi Luzhi.
Lian Xun chickened out and didn’t dare to be cheeky again, obediently lowering his head to eat.
The current Qi Luzhi inexplicably made him a little scared.
“Finished eating? Get out, don’t let me see you again.”
As Lian Xun wiped his mouth, Qi Luzhi got up to leave, but Lian Xun grabbed his sleeve.
“Um, my clothes are unwearable, can you lend me a set?”
“Tsk, what a bother.” Qi Luzhi pulled his hand back, adjusted his sleeve, glanced at Lian Xun, and motioned for him to follow.
Lian Xun followed Qi Luzhi to the Bedroom, and Qi Luzhi pulled out a Suit jacket from the closet, threw it on the bed, and said impatiently, “Wear this, no need to return it.”
“Thank you.”
Lian Xun started changing clothes directly in front of Qi Luzhi. When he took off his Pajamas, the hideous scars on his back pierced Qi Luzhi’s eyes.
“What happened to the injuries on your body?” Qi Luzhi asked subconsciously.
The lights were dim last night, so he hadn’t noticed at all.
Lian Xun turned his head to look, then reached out and touched the scars on his back, “You’re talking about this? Are you worried about me?”
Seeing the expectant look in Lian Xun’s eyes, Qi Luzhi’s face turned cold again, “Don’t overthink it.”
“Are you really not considering what I said? Can we start over, please?” Lian Xun asked again, unwilling to give up after changing his clothes.
Qi Luzhi’s patience had reached its limit. His face was gloomy, and his tone was as cold as frost.
“Lian Xun, why do you think I would still like someone who dumped me twice?”
