Chapter 8: One Thing Subdues Another

Everyone at Xingyue Media knew that Zhuo Huaimo’s morning temper was notorious.

Unless there was something particularly important, he wouldn’t go to the company in the morning, and no one would be reckless enough to call him.

    “Ring ring——”

Early this morning, Zhuo Huaimo was repeatedly woken up by a series of unfamiliar phone calls, and he answered the phone irritably.

    “Hello——”

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end of the phone, and then a familiar, low voice came,

    “Mr. Zhuo, hello!”

Zhuo Huaimo slowly opened his eyes. He was very familiar with this voice. It was Qi Yanwang’s.

Just from that voice, that face that perfectly matched his aesthetic appeared in his mind.

Early in the morning, this kind of wake-up service would only make a certain part of him feel even more uncomfortable.

He turned over on his side, propped his head up with one hand, looked at the empty half of the bed next to him, imagined that person was on the other side, and his tone was much gentler than usual.

However, Qi Yanwang on the other end of the phone couldn’t feel it.

“Has no one told you not to call me in the morning?”

Qi Yanwang paused, “They did, but I’m going back to the set today, with a long night shoot from noon to night, and I only have time in the morning.”

“You don’t even have the ability to negotiate the shooting schedule with the crew?” Zhuo Huaimo was as sharp-tongued as ever.

“I could! But if I negotiated it alone, the entire crew’s workflow would be disrupted, there’s no need!”

Qi Yanwang said seriously, “I’ve already reported to the Artist Management Department. It’s fine if you don’t come, I’ll just sign the contract directly and come over another day!”

This opportunity was hard-won, and Qi Yanwang was determined to sign this contract today.

However, he also didn’t want to break his work principles.

He wanted both fame and fortune!

So, he turned around and broke Zhuo Huaimo’s principles.

Zhuo Huaimo rubbed his brow, “Wait for me at the company!”

Qi Yanwang on the other end of the phone seemed to be stunned for a moment. He didn’t expect Zhuo Huaimo to agree so readily, and he responded softly,

    “Okay!”

Zhuo Huaimo hung up the phone and threw it aside irritably.

He lifted the quilt, revealing his well-built chest, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, and looked down at the scenery of North River.

“It really is one thing subdues another!”

He laughed self-deprecatingly, “Qi Yanwang, you better have some skills to keep me interested in you!”

“Host, are you going to change targets? There are only four days left!”

Zhuo Huaimo changed into a casual suit, casually selected a few accessories. He didn’t have the sharp aura of the past, but had a bit more laziness.

Looking at the person in the mirror, laughing with unrestrained charm, “Interest and staying alive are equally important!”

An hour later, Zhuo Huaimo appeared at Xingyue Media.

Qi Yanwang wore a simple black T-shirt and jeans, looking clean and refreshing.

When he saw Zhuo Huaimo, he immediately stood up to greet him, nodding slightly as a greeting.

Zhuo Huaimo walked straight to the elevator, and Qi Yanwang followed silently behind him.

In the elevator, the atmosphere was subtle. Zhuo Huaimo’s gaze landed on Qi Yanwang’s reflection in the elevator mirror.

Even though he hid it very well, it wasn’t hard to see his nervousness.

“Nervous?” Zhuo Huaimo smiled, his tone carrying a hint of teasing.

“No!” Qi Yanwang immediately denied, feigning composure.

Zhuo Huaimo chuckled and didn’t say anything more.

The elevator arrived at the top floor, and Zhuo Huaimo was the first to walk out.

Qi Yanwang took a deep breath and followed.

Zhuo Huaimo took Qi Yanwang to his office. Lisa from the Artist Management Department had already received the news and had been waiting at the door for a long time.

    “President Zhuo, good morning!”

Zhuo Huaimo nodded slightly as a response, “Did you bring the contract?”

“Yes, I brought it. It was drafted according to your requirements!”

The three of them entered the office together, and Lisa placed the contract on the desk and then left.

Zhuo Huaimo pushed the contract in front of Qi Yanwang, “Take a look, are there any problems?”

The contract content was very simple. Apart from some standard clauses, it was the development plan and team configuration for Qi Yanwang.

It had to be said that the conditions Zhuo Huaimo offered him were many times better than he had expected.

    “Basically, there are no problems!”

Just as Qi Yanwang was about to pick up his pen to sign his name, Zhuo Huaimo pressed down on the contract.

“Is there still a problem?” Qi Yanwang raised an eyebrow to look at him.

    “You don’t have a problem, I do!”

Zhuo Huaimo looked at him, smiling wickedly, “You’ve read the contract, tell me, do you think you’re worth it?”

Qi Yanwang met his eyes and looked back, his gaze firm,

“You want to sign me, it’s nothing more than you also value my strength. I will prove to you that your vision is not wrong!”

Zhuo Huaimo slowly got up, walked behind him, put his hand on his shoulder, leaned over and got closer,

“What if I said that what I value isn’t just your strength?”

Qi Yanwang turned his head slightly, Zhuo Huaimo’s alluring face was less than ten centimeters away from him, and he could even clearly feel his warm breath, like a feather brushing over the tip of his heart, itching unbearably. This was an experience he had never had before.
