Feelings Become Clear, Facing the Storm Together

The warm yellow light flowed quietly, and the atmosphere in the room had long since shed all confrontation and tension, leaving only a gentle and clear understanding. Shuichi Akai and Gin’s intertwined fingers tightened slightly, the warmth of their palms pressing together acting as a silent confirmation of each other’s presence.

His father’s phone call had not been a sudden recognition, but rather a form of support and backing after having witnessed everything long ago. This silent support caused the heavy stone that had long weighed on Shuichi Akai’s heart to finally lift. He had once thought that this relationship, which began in darkness and opposing positions, could only ever be hidden in the shadows. But now, the understanding and tacit permission of his family had already paved a path for them to walk side by side.

Gin looked down at their joined hands, a faint warmth rising in the depths of his cold green eyes. He had spent his life walking alone in the darkness, decisive and ruthless, without any attachments. It wasn’t until he met Shuichi Akai that he understood the meaning of obsession and peace of mind. He never cared about the Organization’s pursuit or the FBI’s vigilance; he only cared about whether the person in front of him was willing to let go of all concerns and face the future with him.

You were worried before that your family would become an obstacle, Gin spoke softly, his tone steady and sincere. You can rest easy now. They understand you better than we imagined.

Shuichi Akai nodded slightly, his voice carrying a hint of relieved hoarseness. I didn’t expect everything to slowly settle into peace in this way.

Because true feelings cannot be hidden. Gin looked up, his gaze locking onto him. Allegiances cannot sever care, and identity cannot obscure choice. Your father sees it clearly, your sister sees it clearly, and I… from beginning to end, I only look at you.

He paused, his fingertips gently stroking the back of Shuichi Akai’s hand with an unprecedented tenderness. I won’t make things difficult for you between your family and me, nor will I let you shoulder everything alone. The people you want to protect, I will protect with you. The truth you want to uncover, I will face with you.

    Shuichi Akai’s heart trembled violently.

That man, who lived in darkness and possessed such a sharp edge, was now willing to pull back all his thorns for him, promising him stability and companionship.

He slowly raised his hand and gently touched Gin’s cheek. The moment his fingertips brushed against the slightly cool skin, both of them stiffened slightly at the same time.

This proactive touch was worth more than a thousand words; it was a letting go, an acceptance, and complete honesty.

Gin’s eyes darkened. He leaned into the palm of Akai’s hand, his breathing gradually becoming heavy. The boundary between light and darkness blurred completely at this moment, leaving only the clear sound of each other’s heartbeats.

Just as the atmosphere grew intense, the low sound of an FBI agent’s communication came from downstairs, breaking the momentary silence.

Shuichi Akai collected his thoughts and walked to the window. Jodie Starling’s figure appeared at the entrance of the hallway, her expression slightly solemn.

He picked up the communicator and pressed the answer button.

Shu, we just intercepted an encrypted signal from the Organization. Rum has ordered them to stand down for now, but he will send people to monitor this area around the clock. He is clearly wary of you and Gin joining forces. Jodie’s voice was low and carried a hint of complexity. Also, James asked me to tell you that the headquarters will not interfere with Gin’s matter for the time being. Everything is up to you.

Shuichi Akai raised an eyebrow slightly.

Even the FBI had chosen to look the other way.

Everyone saw the inseparable bond between them; only he himself had struggled for far too long.

I understand, he replied calmly and ended the communication.

Gin walked slowly behind him, gently wrapping his arms around his waist and resting his chin on his shoulder. His voice was lazy and deep. It seems the whole world is making concessions for us.

Shuichi Akai leaned back into his embrace, feeling the steady and reassuring heartbeat behind him. The long-standing fatigue and unease vanished completely at this moment.

It’s not a concession, he said softly, his tone calm and firm. It’s that we finally dare to face our own hearts and face each other.

Outside the window, the night was deep, and the starlight pierced through the clouds weakly but steadily. Inside, the room was filled with warmth as the two figures leaned close together. Their past as archnemeses, their opposing positions, and their long entanglement all transformed into the most stable companionship of the present.

The storm is coming, but they will no longer walk alone.

The darkness is long, but they will eventually cross it side by side.
