Chapter 131 Interference Device Flying Saucer Crash

“What are they doing here?” Gu Jinsheng asked strangely.

“Let’s fly closer and see,” Ji An directed.

Gu Jinsheng piloted the mech to circle around the volcano. At first, nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

But after Ji An magnified the image on the display screen dozens of times, many unidentified flying objects could be seen circling around the volcano. More precisely, they were going in and out.

Yes, they were going in and out. These unidentified flying objects were completely unafraid of the scorching temperature of the magma inside the volcano, flying directly into the crater and then flying back out from inside.

In just over ten minutes, Gu Jinsheng and Ji An had captured three or four unidentified flying objects in the image. There must have been others they didn’t see, indicating the large number of unidentified flying objects here.

Gu Jinsheng stared at the entrance of the volcano, “These unidentified flying objects are not afraid of the high temperature of the magma and can move freely, but why would they do that?”

Ji An was also pondering this question.

“This volcano hasn’t erupted in over three hundred years, but the detected results say the geology is still very active. Could it be that the active magma, the active volcano itself, is just a gimmick to cover up the secret that this place has long become an entrance for aliens to Earth?” Ji An guessed.

This guess was reasonable to some extent.

“We have to go, some unidentified flying objects have noticed us,” Gu Jinsheng and the others had circled around the volcano for too long. While they were observing the unidentified flying objects, the unidentified flying objects were also observing them, and subtly showing a tendency to surround them.

“Let’s leave here first.” Regardless of the purpose of these unidentified flying objects entering this active volcano, now was not the time to investigate.

First, their mechs were not capable of withstanding the high temperature of this level of volcano, and they definitely could not freely enter and exit the interior of the active volcano like the unidentified flying objects.

Moreover, even if the mechs could withstand the high temperature of the volcano, Gu Jinsheng and Ji An wouldn’t dare to enter. What if it was the unidentified flying object’s base camp inside, and they rashly crashed in without any preparation, the objects of research would become the two of them.

Gu Jinsheng returned to Jing Shi Base and showed the recorded video to the base’s high-level officials and researchers. No one could be sure why the unidentified flying objects were going in and out of the volcano.

However, Gu Jinsheng’s trip was not without gain. His rear camera captured the unidentified flying objects that stuck to his mech at close range. It could basically be determined that the unidentified flying objects were disc-shaped, which should be the flying saucers piloted by aliens in science fiction films and television.

“Why are these aliens entering and exiting the volcanic crater? Could it be that this volcano, which hasn’t erupted for hundreds of years, has really become an entrance for aliens to enter Earth?” Owen asked.

“Not necessarily. Maybe the aliens’ flying saucers aren’t afraid of the temperature of the magma, so they just treat this as an entertainment venue. Just like how we play on slides or in the water.” Kong Zhongcheng shrugged, giving a completely unreliable answer.

“Believe me, aliens are definitely not as idiotic as you, they wouldn’t do such meaningless things.”

Everyone discussed back and forth but couldn’t come up with a result. Ji An downloaded several videos onto his mobile phone, watching them during the day and night, before going to bed when he was free, but still couldn’t figure anything out, so he could only give up on the idea of discerning something from the videos.

However, Ji An had other inspirations and plunged into the laboratory to tinker around.

“Little An hasn’t come out yet?” Ji An had been in seclusion for seven days, and Gu Jinsheng hadn’t seen Ji An at home or at the command center for seven days, so he came over to inquire as usual.

“No.” Wu Youyang said with a chuckle, “General Commander Gu doesn’t need to worry about Dean Ji. Every time Dean Ji goes into sudden seclusion, he brings good news. This time will surely too. I just don’t know what it is, let’s just wait for Dean Ji’s good news.”

Just as they were talking, the door of the laboratory opened, and Ji An walked out in a radiation protection suit.

“Little An.” Gu Jinsheng went up to meet him.

Ji An took off his protective helmet, revealing his tired eyes and eyebrows. He had faint dark circles under his eyes, and his complexion was sallow, the result of consecutive late nights.

“You stayed up all night again?” Gu Jinsheng’s voice carried a hint of reprimand, but more of heartache.

Ji An took off his radiation protection suit and threw it aside, resting his head on Gu Jinsheng’s shoulder, acting spoilt and clingy, “So tired, let me lean on your shoulder for a bit.”

When Ji An’s forehead softly rested on Gu Jinsheng’s shoulder, Gu Jinsheng couldn’t voice any more reprimands, his heart softening into a pool of water, leaving only heartache.

“Ah, you, don’t stay up all night, I’ll worry.” Gu Jinsheng’s tone was gentle.

    “Okay, I know.”

Gu Jinsheng didn’t ask what results Ji An had been busy with for so long, only concerned, “Go get some sleep.”

“Okay.” Ji An was very obedient this time. When Gu Jinsheng told him to go to sleep, he went. However, Ji An found going home a waste of time, so he slept soundly in the research institute’s duty room.

He woke up again the next evening, with the sun setting and dusk falling.

Ji An looked at the sky outside the window and made a video call to Gu Jinsheng. Gu Jinsheng didn’t answer. Ji An found it strange, this was something that had never happened before. Gu Jinsheng had always answered his calls promptly, there was never a time when it was inconvenient.

Just as Ji An was about to dial the communication again, he heard the click of the password lock on the duty room door behind him. Ji An knew it was Gu Jinsheng coming. He smiled and turned around, indeed seeing the person walk in, covered in dust.

“Just finished being busy?” Ji An asked.

“Yes,” Gu Jinsheng nodded, “I just feel that Charles has been unusually quiet lately, it’s not like him.”

“You’re afraid this is the calm before the storm?”

    Gu Jinsheng nodded again.

Ji An said, “With Charles’s personality, he won’t give up so easily, it’s likely he’s preparing for another H-weapon attack.”

    Gu Jinsheng thought so too.

“He can’t come up with any new tricks anyway,” Ji An looked at the hazy sky outside the window, “The sky is nice, perfect for covering up some bad deeds. So let’s go do some kidnapping and plundering.”

Gu Jinsheng didn’t ask what they were going to do, he just piloted the mech and set off with Ji An.

“Let’s go check near that volcano from last time again. Maybe this time we’ll be lucky enough to catch one or two crashed aliens.” Ji An’s tone was full of eagerness to try, sounding less like he was going to try his luck and more like he was going to cause trouble.

Gu Jinsheng glanced at Ji An, but didn’t scold him for being unrealistic.

The two quickly arrived near the volcano in their mech. Ji An expertly brought up the display screen and magnified the image.

Soon, fast-flying unidentified flying objects were captured on the display screen.

“Jinsheng, don’t you think there seem to be even more unidentified flying objects this time than last time? In such a short while, we’ve captured at least five or six unidentified flying objects on the display screen.” Ji An’s eyes were fixed on the display screen.

    “Indeed.”

Ji An brought up the terrain around the volcano and studied it for a long time, pointing to a place where the mountain forest was relatively dense, “Jinsheng, let’s go here.”

Gu Jinsheng didn’t ask, and flew in the direction Ji An indicated.

Ji An took out some oddly shaped things from his space.

Gu Jinsheng glanced at them, “These are your masterpieces from your recent seclusion.”

“Right. You control the mech to place these things where I’ve marked with red dots. It’s best to hide them in positions that aren’t easily discovered.”

“Okay.” Gu Jinsheng controlled the mech to place the strange devices Ji An gave him that he couldn’t understand in the locations Ji An specified, and even camouflaged them with trees and other things.

“Hopefully they work,” Ji An murmured.

    “What are these for?”

“You’ll find out in a bit.” Ji An kept him in suspense.

    Gu Jinsheng raised an eyebrow.

“Let’s go. Now let’s go back to the volcano and lure a flying saucer over.”

Gu Jinsheng said, “You really want to catch aliens?”

Ji An looked at Gu Jinsheng provocatively, “What, scared?”

Gu Jinsheng let out a short, disdainful scoff.

Gu Jinsheng and Ji An were interested in the unidentified flying objects, and the unidentified flying objects were equally interested in Gu Jinsheng and Ji An.

However, for some reason, the mech controlled by Gu Jinsheng and Ji An hovered above the volcano for a long time, but no flying saucer was attracted.

“Looks like the waiting game doesn’t work on aliens,” Ji An sighed.

“Then we’ll use the tactic of letting them go to catch them.” Gu Jinsheng randomly locked onto a flying saucer and accelerated towards it.

The flying saucer was originally flying slowly, seemingly observing Gu Jinsheng and Ji An’s mech from a distance. Suddenly seeing Gu Jinsheng’s mech rushing towards it, it instinctively reacted and accelerated away.

After realizing it didn’t feel right, thinking they were the higher civilization, it should be Gu Jinsheng’s mech that runs, not them who flee first, so it zipped back.

This time, the flying saucer did not observe Gu Jinsheng’s mech from a distance, but directly attached itself to the outer shell of the mech.

Gu Jinsheng and Ji An simultaneously looked at the various readings of the mech, and indeed, some deviations appeared again.

Gu Jinsheng didn’t pretend not to know this time, but controlled the mech to flip, spin, and jump in the air, performing various difficult maneuvers, attempting to shake off the flying saucer.

However, the flying saucer, likely due to some magnetic attraction principle, couldn’t be shaken off no matter what kind of maneuvers Gu Jinsheng performed.

Ji An gave Gu Jinsheng a look, and Gu Jinsheng remained calm. While seemingly rotating and tumbling to shake off the flying saucer, he was actually subtly flying towards the intended trap.

Gu Jinsheng didn’t know what effect the trap Ji An had set had, but he fully trusted Ji An.

Seeing that they had arrived at the destination, Gu Jinsheng didn’t give the flying saucer a chance to react, accelerating and flying directly over the trap.

As the mech flew over the trap, Gu Jinsheng glanced at the various readings of the mech on the display screen and suddenly found that all the readings on the mech were messed up. Even the compass started spinning wildly, completely malfunctioning.

    “Interference device?” Gu Jinsheng asked.

“It’s not that simple.” Ji An frowned. They were about to fly out of the trap’s range, but the flying saucer didn’t react. Ji An was a little anxious.

“It should have fallen.” Gu Jinsheng suddenly felt the mech’s responsiveness return. Gu Jinsheng continued to control the mech to fly forward, stopping hundreds of meters away.

Ji An leaned closer to the display screen and saw something heavy smash into the ground, crashing through many tall trees, rolling to a stop, raising dust like a cascading waterfall.

“The flying saucer is out of control, it’s related to your device,” Gu Jinsheng stated confidently.

Ji An smiled, “I originally thought it wouldn’t work, good on it for performing.”
