Chapter 37: It Hurts Here, It Hurts So Much

Song Huaixi bolted the door and ran back to the soft couch.

Hearing Zhao Fangye’s gentle voice from outside the door, his nose felt sore. He didn’t want to see Zhao Fangye right now.

Every time he saw him, his chest would feel very painful.

He didn’t want to like Zhao Fangye anymore!

Right now, he was like a clam, foolishly extending his soft heart only to be hurt severely. He immediately closed his heart up tightly like soft flesh inside a shell.

He might not be smart, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t feel pain.

Zhao Fangye knew Song Huaixi was inside. He stood in front of the door and gently knocked. “Huaixi, open the door, be good. Things aren’t what you think. You’ve misunderstood.”

The tightly shut door stood between them. Unable to see him, Zhao Fangye suppressed the urge to kick the door open.

Huaixi was timid; that would definitely scare him. Besides, he realized now that Huaixi didn’t want to see him.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have bolted the door.

Standing in front of the door, Zhao Fangye could only wait. He spoke to him softly.

Inside, Song Huaixi couldn’t help but cry as he listened to Zhao Fangye’s voice.

The entire Song family rushed over in a flurry. Seeing this scene, their hearts all hung in the air.

Prince Zhao Fangye of the Ning district had a noble status; this was very disrespectful.

Seeing his somber face, Song Zigen quickly stepped forward to apologize. “Your Highness… Huaixi is ignorant. Please forgive him.”

Lin Rugui was also afraid of an unmanageable situation and hurriedly stepped forward, standing outside the door and gently coaxing Song Huaixi.

“Huaixi, don’t be difficult. Open the door quickly. Be good.”

Hearing the voices outside, Song Huaixi felt even more aggrieved. He walked to the door, sobbing as he said, “No… I won’t open the door…”

Hearing the faint sound of crying coming from the room, Zhao Fangye felt a subtle, dense pain in his heart.

Zhao Fangye raised his hand to stop Lin Rugui, who still wanted to speak. “It’s alright. I’m here. You all should go back first.”

Hearing this, Lin Rugui looked at Zhao Fangye.

Seeing that he wasn’t angry, she said worriedly, “Your Highness, Huaixi is ignorant. If he has offended Your Highness in any way, please be sure to forgive him.”

Zhao Fangye nodded, his face expressionless.

The others didn’t dare to object when they heard the Prince speak. They left, turning back every few steps.

Zhao Fangye stood quietly at the door, looking at the door without speaking.

Separated by the door, Song Huaixi squatted down and sobbed. Hearing no movement in front of the door, he tilted his head in confusion.

He was a little sad; he hadn’t expected Zhao Fangye to leave so quickly. He couldn’t help but get up and remove the bolt, wanting to see what was happening outside.

But just as he opened the door a crack, he unexpectedly met Zhao’s light-colored eyes.

Startled, Song Huaixi’s brain didn’t have time to react before his body reflexively slammed the door shut.

With a bang, Zhao Fangye didn’t even have time to react. The two carved wooden doors closed in front of him.

Zhao Fangye held onto the doorframe, his tone a little lost. “Huaixi, are you still unwilling to see me?”

His heart was pounding in his chest, as if it was about to jump out of his throat. Hearing him say that, Song Huaixi felt somewhat wronged.

He was the one who liked someone else first, yet his tone made it seem like he was being unreasonable.

Thinking this way, Song Huaixi also became angry. He put his hand against the door, choking back sobs as he shouted, “I don’t want to see you, I hate you!”

His emotions were complex, and Song Huaixi didn’t know what was happening to him. His heart clearly wanted to see Zhao Fangye, but he had to go against his true feelings and say he didn’t want to see him.

    It was really strange.

Zhao Fangye stood outside the door, hearing him say he didn’t want to see him. His heart tightened, and his face slowly darkened.

Although he knew in his heart that Song Huaixi wasn’t being sincere, his heart still couldn’t help but sting.

Holding the door, Zhao Fangye’s voice was hoarse. “Huaixi, do you hate me now? You don’t like me anymore?”

After a long while, Song Huaixi’s voice, filled with sobs, came from inside the door: “I… I don’t like you anymore…”

Liking someone really made him feel so uncomfortable; he didn’t want to like anyone anymore.

As soon as the words fell, with a bang, the carved wooden door on one side crashed to the ground. Song Huaixi stood on the other side, watching Zhao Fangye kick open the door and walk in.

That handsome face, like a celestial being, was now frozen with ice, and he approached Song Huaixi step by step with coldness around him.

Song Huaixi was so frightened by him that he retreated repeatedly, eventually being forced to sit on the soft couch.

Bending down and supporting himself on either side of him, Zhao Fangye’s light-colored eyes stared intently at those eyes that were red from crying.

Like a venomous snake staring at a clumsy rabbit with nowhere to escape.

Song Huaixi looked into his eyes, feeling somewhat afraid. When Zhao Fangye’s face turned cold, the aura around him changed, and the gentleness he showed when he was with him disappeared completely.

Approaching him, Zhao Fangye parted his thin lips slightly. “Take it back, Song Huaixi.”

With wide eyes, Song Huaixi looked somewhat blank, not knowing what he was talking about.

Zhao Fangye stared at him and said it again in a low voice, “Those words just now, take them back.”

Only then did Song Huaixi realize what he meant. He stubbornly refused to obey him.

    He refused, “I don’t want to! I ha…”

Hearing his answer, Zhao Fangye’s eyes became dangerous. Before Song Huaixi could say anything that would displease him even more.

He suddenly lowered his head and kissed his lips.

Song Huaixi’s eyes widened instantly, and he used all his strength to push against his chest with his hands. His whole body was resisting with all its might.

Even if it was a misunderstanding, Song Huaixi’s genuine disgust and resistance still stung Zhao Fangye’s heart.

He grabbed his hands abruptly, crossed them, and pinned them down on the soft couch. Zhao Fangye pinched his chin, not giving him a chance to dodge, and kissed him fiercely.

The offensive between lips and teeth grew increasingly intense, and Song Huaixi struggled under him, whimpering.

When he finally had a brief moment to catch his breath, Zhao Fangye bit his shoulder directly.

    He cried out briefly, “Ah!…”

Song Huaixi felt pain, and tears welled up in his eyes. He grabbed his collar and kicked and hit him.

His voice was full of accusation: “You’re bullying me! Wuwu… I hate you… It hurts…”

As he spoke, he burst into tears with a wail, his whole body shaking as he cried.

Zhao Fangye panicked for a moment and hurriedly picked him up, looking anxiously at the tooth marks on his shoulder.

He coaxed, “Where does it hurt? Tell me where it hurts. Did I hurt you just now? It’s my fault, Huaixi, don’t cry.”

Grabbing his collar, Song Huaixi cried so hard that the world seemed to be spinning. He pointed his finger at his chest and shouted, “It hurts here! It hurts so much here.”

Zhao Fangye was stunned for a moment, letting him poke him.

Even though Song Huaixi’s movements weren’t strong, he felt as if that finger was piercing straight into his heart.

He hugged him tightly, holding his hand and kissing it repeatedly. He comforted him, “Huaixi, Huaixi, be good. Listen to me. You’ve misunderstood. I only have you.”

    “I only like you, I don’t like anyone else…”

“Do you know? Huaixi, you’re jealous right now.”

“Actually, I’m a little happy because you finally know what liking someone is.”
