Chapter 11: You Look So Good When You Practice Sword!

Back in his own courtyard, Zhang Mama saw him and Chun Hua dragging heavy bedding into the room, squinting her eyes with a puzzled expression.

    “What are you doing?”

Zhang Mama stepped forward to help with the brocade quilt, “Why are you bringing the quilt back? If the Princess Consort is cold, why didn’t you tell me? You just went to get it yourself?”

Hearing this, Chun Hua smiled and explained, “No, Mama, this is the Prince’s quilt.”

“The Prince’s quilt?” Zhang Mama’s eyes widened upon hearing this, and her expression changed instantly. “Why are you bringing the Prince’s quilt back?”

Song Huaixi, hugging the quilt, answered rather proudly, “This way, the Prince can sleep with me!”

“This…” Zhang Mama looked at his proud little appearance, feeling helpless and amused.

What kind of method is that?

Only Song Huaixi could come up with something like this. Are there so few quilts in the Ning Wang Mansion that they’re short one?

Everyone in the room had a look of amusement and exasperation, but no one said anything.

After all, in Song Huaixi’s eyes, this was a brilliant idea he had come up with.

That night, after washing up, Song Huaixi lay on the bed, with the bedding and pillows he had carried from Zhao Fangye’s room beside him.

He thought that this would definitely accomplish the mission of not sleeping in separate rooms from Zhao Fangye.

But he tossed and turned in bed until late at night, and Zhao Fangye still hadn’t pushed the door open to come in and sleep.

Zhang Mama, who was on night duty, heard the movement on the bed and knew that Song Huaixi was still awake. Holding a lamp, she walked to his bedside.

“Princess Consort, it’s time to sleep. The Prince won’t come, go to sleep.” As she spoke, she tucked the quilt around him.

Song Huaixi poked his head out from under the quilt, his eyes full of confusion: “Why not? Mama.”

He didn’t understand why Zhao Fangye hadn’t come.

“Princess Consort, there are many quilts in the Ning Wang Mansion, you only took one. There are many more, the Prince only needs to take another set of bedding.”

Hearing her say this, Song Huaixi immediately got out of bed: “Then I’ll take all the quilts away, so he’ll have to come here to sleep.”

Zhang Mama pressed him down, tucking him back into the quilt: “That won’t do, there are so many quilts. How can you take them all?”

    “Then what should I do?”

Song Huaixi felt very troubled, not knowing how to complete the task his mother had given him.

“Since the Prince isn’t coming to sleep with you, you can go to the Prince to sleep, my silly Princess Consort.”

Zhang Mama sighed and gave him an idea.

    “That’s right!”

How could he not have thought of that? This also counts as sleeping together!

“Mama, you’re so smart!” As he said this, Song Huaixi wanted to crawl out of the quilt, wanting to go to Zhao Fangye immediately.

Zhang Mama quickly pulled the quilt over and wrapped him up. Although the room had underfloor heating, going from hot to cold would easily lead to illness.

Song Huaixi had been weak since childhood, and once he got sick, it would drag on for a long time without getting better.

“What are you doing, Princess Consort? It’s so late now. Don’t disturb the Prince’s rest. Do you remember what the Madam said?”

Song Huaixi tilted his head and thought, “Can’t sleep in separate rooms from the Prince, can’t let the Prince dislike me.”

“That’s right, if you go now, the Prince will find you annoying. Be good, go tomorrow, understand?”

    “Understood.”

Seeing Song Huaixi obediently lie down to sleep, Zhang Mama was finally relieved and turned to leave.

Early the next morning, as soon as Song Huaixi opened his eyes, he wanted to take his things to Zhao Fangye’s courtyard.

Zhang Mama saw this and stopped him: “It’s still early, Princess Consort can go find the Prince for breakfast first. This is also a way to get closer to the Prince.”

That’s right, how could he not have thought of that. So he hurriedly got out of bed, washed up, and dressed. Only after he had finished everything did he remember that he didn’t know where Zhao Fangye was.

“Mama, I don’t know where the Prince is.” Song Huaixi continued to fret.

At this moment, Chun Hua walked over and said, “The Prince has a habit of practicing sword in the morning, he should be in the backyard now. The Princess Consort can go take a look.”

    “Really?”

Song Huaixi immediately ran excitedly towards the door. When he arrived at the backyard, sure enough, he saw Zhao Fangye in a martial outfit practicing sword under a tree.

A black martial outfit tightly wrapped around his tall and straight figure, holding a silver long sword in his hand that gleamed with a cold light. As Zhao Fangye wielded it, it cut out a fierce sword edge in the air.

The sword followed the body, his steps were light and agile, every move carrying fierceness and decisiveness. The action of wielding the sword carried the sound of cutting through the air.

Zhao Fangye’s pale eyes were deep and cold, exuding coldness and ruthlessness when practicing the sword.

Zhao Fangye when practicing the sword was very different from usual. Usually, he had an indifferent attitude towards everything.

But when practicing the sword, he seemed to be venting the dissatisfaction in his heart, he was vibrant, not like a cold puppet.

Song Huaixi could feel the difference, but he couldn’t say what it was specifically. He always felt that Zhao Fangye wasn’t happy when he practiced the sword.

Standing under the veranda for a long time, Zhao Fangye finally stopped his movements.

Catching a glimpse of that figure under the veranda, Zhao Fangye said in a light voice, “How long have you been here? Come here.”

Hearing him call him, Song Huaixi immediately ran over happily.

“You look so good when you practice sword!” Song Huaixi said bluntly, his eyes full of admiration. “Like a hero in my picture book! So amazing!”

Hearing his childish words, Zhao Fangye just wiped the sword absentmindedly. After practicing for so long, his breathing was still calm, and his breathing was not disturbed at all.

After Zhao Fangye finished wiping the sword, he threw it to the adjutant Sun Shu on the side and looked at Song Huaixi: “What are you here for?”

The morning in winter was bitterly cold, and Song Huaixi had been standing under the veranda for a long time. The tip of his nose was red with cold, but the eyes looking at him were fiery.

No one had ever looked at him with such eyes, pure eyes full of his figure. As if he was his whole world.

Song Huaixi remembered his purpose and said excitedly, “I came to find you for breakfast!”

Zhao Fangye refused without mercy: “This Prince has already had breakfast.”

He was determined to draw a line between himself and this little fool, but he didn’t want this little fool to keep pushing himself on him.

He didn’t like the little fool’s eyes being full of himself, it would give him the wrong impression. And he didn’t need such an illusion.

In the past, the world around Zhao Fangye was always silent, and suddenly a chattering person broke in, making him very uncomfortable.

“Ah?” Those expectant eyes immediately went out, Song Huaixi looked dejected, and said very dissatisfied: “Why did you eat so early?”

The adjutant Sun Shu on the side hesitated, in fact, the Prince hadn’t had breakfast either. But he didn’t understand why the Prince wanted to refuse.

Seeing his appearance, Zhao Fangye’s expression moved slightly: “Why must this Prince accompany you for a meal?”

“There’s no why. I just want to eat together.”

Song Huaixi’s answer was simple and pure, he really wanted to eat with Zhao Fangye. Even if it wasn’t a mission, he would still think so.

    “Then let’s go.”

Unexpectedly, Zhao Fangye uttered a few words lightly, Song Huaixi thought he had misheard. Even the adjutant on the side thought he was hallucinating.

After reacting, Song Huaixi immediately followed his pace.
