Chen Zhuo was diligently drawing in the study when he suddenly heard the sound of the door unlocking. He poked his head out to look, surprised, and said, “Xie Yu? Didn’t you say you had something to do at home? Why are you back so soon? I thought you wouldn’t be home for lunch.”

Xie Yu was carrying fresh fruit he’d just bought from the supermarket. He changed his shoes as he said, “I came back when I didn’t have anything to do, okay?”

He put the fruit on the table, opened his arms, and pretended to be serious. “Chen Xiaozhuo, do you have any sense? When your husband comes home, shouldn’t you give him a warm hug and a French kiss?”

Chen Zhuo chuckled softly and ran to throw himself into Xie Yu’s arms.

Xie Yu’s wool coat was icy from the winter chill. He was only wearing thin pajamas and shivered from the cold.

He wanted to let go of Xie Yu, but Xie Yu held him tightly.
