Chapter 112 I Think You Need Me

That night, the two lay in bed, doing nothing but holding each other, chatting idly.

It wasn’t until the sky showed the first light of dawn that Chen Zhuo nestled against Xie Yu’s arm, dozing off in his embrace.

Their flight was at seven in the morning, and the drive to the airport from their home was about an hour.

At five o’clock, the alarm rang on time, heralding the prelude to their separation.

Xie Yu hadn’t slept all night, thinking about many things.

Including what if Chen Zhuo couldn’t adapt to the foreign environment, couldn’t eat or sleep well? And what if it rained or thundered and Chen Zhuo’s PTSD acted up again? But the one thing he never considered was the possibility of a relationship crisis between them during those two years.

As the sky brightened, Xie Yu casually turned off the alarm and gently patted Chen Zhuo’s back, saying tenderly, “Honey, time to get up.”

Chen Zhuo didn’t move under the covers, and Xie Yu heard a faint sob.

Xie Yu was stunned for a moment, peeled back the covers to reveal Chen Zhuo’s face, and found it was wet. He immediately felt a pang of heartache, “Why are you crying? You don’t want to go? I’ll come see you, as soon as I have time.”

Chen Zhuo felt embarrassed and buried his face in Xie Yu’s chest, mumbling, “Yeah, I don’t want to go, I don’t want to be apart from you, I want to be with you every day, I don’t want to leave you.”

Xie Yu held him tighter, his own nose stinging with emotion, “I don’t want to be apart from you either, I don’t want to leave you either, or else, don’t go, I…”

Before he could finish speaking, Chen Zhuo suddenly broke free from his arms, doing a carp jump and sitting up.

Rubbing his eyes, he stretched languidly and casually pinched Xie Yu’s butt, “Don’t shake the morale of the troops! Hurry, hurry, hurry! Get up and wash up, don’t be late, you still have to take me to the airport.”

Xie Yu’s heart was filled with emotion, stuck in his throat, neither rising nor falling, choking him until he gnashed his teeth, “…Chen Xiaozhuo! You’re really asking for a beating!”

Chen Zhuo pulled open the curtains, his eyes red-rimmed, and rushed over to kiss Xie Yu a couple of times with a smile, then whirled into the bathroom like a gust of wind to take a shower.

Xie Yu smiled and shook his head, sighing helplessly. Did this guy really not want to leave or not?

Chen Zhuo showered in the master bedroom, so Xie Yu went to the guest bathroom to wash up. After finishing, he went into the kitchen to make breakfast.

He and Chen Zhuo were responsible for breakfast and dinner respectively.

Because the branch office was too far from home, Xie Yu couldn’t make it back for lunch and ate in the cafeteria.

And since Chen Zhuo was too lazy to cook for himself at home, Xie Yu had hired a chef who would come over only for lunch.

Xie Yu’s cooking skills couldn’t compare to Chen Zhuo’s, but he had improved a lot, at least he could make different breakfasts for a week.

Since Chen Zhuo was about to start eating bland Western food, Xie Yu didn’t make him a sandwich and milk. Instead, he fried ham and egg pancakes and cooked a bowl of fresh meat wontons.

After Chen Zhuo finished showering, he saw Xie Yu busily working in the kitchen, and his eyes turned red again.

Such peaceful and warm days, to have them again, he would have to wait for more than four months. From now on, they could only chat through a screen every day.

Chen Zhuo wrapped his arms around Xie Yu, his half-dry, slightly damp curly hair brushing against Xie Yu’s back, sniffing, he asked, “Want to do it?”

The wontons were cooked, Xie Yu turned off the heat, turned around and pressed Chen Zhuo’s head, laughing, “Do what? It’s almost five thirty, hurry up and pack up, don’t you want to go abroad?”

Chen Zhuo looked at Xie Yu with teary eyes.

Xie Yu’s throat bobbed, “Don’t mess around, I can’t be quick, really, you’ll miss your flight. I’ll fly to New York to see you next month.”

Chen Zhuo stubbornly looked at him, his slender fingers sliding ambiguously down his chest and abdomen, heading lower.

Ten minutes later, Chen Zhuo ate his egg pancakes and wontons leisurely.

Xie Yu covered his face in shock, staring at Chen Zhuo resentfully through his fingers, “Actually, I did it on purpose, just afraid of delaying your flight.”

Chen Zhuo nodded perfunctorily, “Yeah, yeah, I understand.”

    Xie Yu: “………..”

After breakfast, Xie Yu pushed the suitcase and walked out of the house with Chen Zhuo.

Chen Zhuo stood in front of the closed door, just about to sigh, when Xie Yu hooked his neck and pulled him into the elevator.

Xie Yu lowered his head and kissed him, “Don’t make it like we’re saying a final goodbye, I’ll try to come see you every month.”

Chen Zhuo looked at him with a smile, “Direct flights are expensive, and it takes more than ten hours, every month? It’s a waste of money, time, and energy, is it worth it?”

Xie Yu snorted and laughed, “I want to, what do you care? I’m just going.”

Before the real farewell arrived, the two were surprisingly calm. The roads that were usually congested were all green lights today.

After checking in their luggage, they found that the other three students had already arrived. One of them saw Chen Zhuo and waved with a smile, “Hey! Brother! What a coincidence!”

Chen Zhuo also raised his arm and said with a smile, “It’s quite a coincidence.”

Xie Yu glanced at him displeased, secretly asking Chen Zhuo, “Who’s this kid? How did you become so acquainted?”

Chen Zhuo whispered back to him, “Did you forget? During military training, weren’t two classes from the same major combined into one team? He’s from the class next to ours, the northeastern big brother I bumped into, Yang Fan.”

Xie Yu suddenly realized and said “Oh,” “I was too busy laughing at you at the time, I didn’t even notice there was such a person.”

Yang Fan was an honest and warmhearted person, he greeted them with a smile and looked at Xie Yu, “Hey, Zhuo’er, is this brother?”

Chen Zhuo answered before Xie Yu could speak, “This is my roommate, Xie Yu from the business school, he happened to be free today, so he came to see me off.”

Yang Fan said “Oh, oh” twice, cheerfully, “You guys have a pretty good relationship, you’re really handsome, man!”

Xie Yu took the opportunity to glare at Chen Zhuo unhappily, then smiled and shook hands with Yang Fan, “My brother is a bit delicate and has poor independent living skills, please take care of him, brother.”

Chen Zhuo wanted to laugh, when did he become a younger brother? This guy was quite good at finding himself an identity.

Yang Fan raised his arm righteously and hooked Chen Zhuo’s shoulder, “Hey! Don’t worry! In a foreign land, we’re all brothers! I’ll definitely take good care of Zhuo’er!”

Xie Yu’s eyes fell on Yang Fan’s arm around Chen Zhuo, and the smile froze on his lips.

Without changing his expression, he pulled Chen Zhuo away from him and patted Yang Fan’s back hard in retaliation, “Haha, good brother! With you here! Then I can rest assured!”

Chen Zhuo lowered his head and snickered.

The airport began to broadcast the boarding announcement for their flight. Finally, the time for farewell had arrived. Yang Fan called out to Chen Zhuo to go through security and wait for boarding.

Chen Zhuo looked at Xie Yu. The airport was full of people coming and going, and there were classmates standing next to them, so they couldn’t even express a few heartfelt words.

Xie Yu took a step forward and hugged him tightly, quickly kissing Chen Zhuo’s hair at an angle that others couldn’t see, whispering, “It’s okay, baby, I’ll come see you, take care of yourself.”

Chen Zhuo choked with emotion and nodded, “Okay.”

Xie Yu didn’t dare to hold him for too long. Chen Zhuo only had a few classmates with him abroad, and he didn’t want Chen Zhuo to be singled out in the “homosexual” rumors.

Chen Zhuo walked away, turning back every few steps. Yang Fan leaned over and looked at him, “Are you crying? You two have a really good relationship.”

Chen Zhuo cleared his throat, “I’m not crying, I didn’t sleep well last night, I just yawned a few times.”

Yang Fan laughed heartily, “I didn’t sleep well either. Gosh! Just thinking about going abroad, I was too excited to sleep, hey!”

After boarding the plane, Chen Zhuo found his seat.

When he opened his backpack to take out his tablet, he found the US dollars that Xie Yu had secretly exchanged for him and a note.

[Don’t be so independent, I want you to need me.]

Chen Zhuo’s eyes welled up again. Yang Fan, who was still excited, was sitting next to him, “You’re crying, aren’t you?”

Like Zhao Jiashu, he was warmhearted, but his EQ was unknown.

Chen Zhuo turned his head and caressed the ring on his ring finger, “I miss my partner.”

Yang Fan patted him on the shoulder and comforted him, “Look on the bright side, you still have a partner to miss, I don’t even have a partner.”

Chen Zhuo: “…….. Okay, thank you for your comfort, I feel much better.”
