    Chapter 101: A Meeting

    Chapter 101: A Meeting

Xie Yu’s face was grim, his eyes icy. He asked in a low voice, “It’s Sun Yaozong, isn’t it?”

Xie Liangjun snorted coldly and put away his phone. “You’re not completely stupid. I told you a long time ago, the worst people to offend in this world are the petty ones! You never know when they’ll stab you in the back!”

Xie Yu was silent for two seconds, then lifted his foot to head towards the exit of the fire escape, but Xie Liangjun grabbed him.

Xie Liangjun’s anger hadn’t subsided. He said, annoyed, “Where are you going! How many times have I told you! Don’t act impulsively!”

Xie Yu’s fists clenched until they cracked, filled with barely suppressed anger. He said fiercely, “If it wasn’t for that bastard spouting nonsense, my mom wouldn’t be lying in the hospital right now! I can’t swallow this anger without dealing with him!”

Xie Liangjun raised his hand and smacked the back of his head, scolding, “You haven’t grown at all! All you know is how to use your fists? How could your mother and I… how did we produce something like you! This is a civilized society! Act civilized!”

Xie Yu hissed and rubbed his head vigorously. “I know, I didn’t say I was going to beat him up. I have other ways to deal with him. You really hit hard.”

Xie Liangjun glared at him. “Hitting you is too light. What methods do you have? Don’t make your dad have to clean up after you again!”

Xie Yu was suddenly ashamed. Growing up, he really hadn’t caused his parents any less worry, feeling guilty he said, “Anyway, I have a way, a legal and compliant way. Don’t worry, I won’t cause any more trouble in the future.”

Xie Liangjun looked deeply at his son, intuitively feeling that the boy seemed to have changed a lot in an instant. He sighed, “You better be able to do what you say. You and Chen Zhuo…”

Xie Yu interrupted him, cutting off all possibility of retreat. Staring into his eyes, he said, word by word, “Dad, I love Chen Zhuo. I like men. I’m gay.”

Xie Liangjun was so angry that his face turned green. He laughed in extreme anger, “Good, good, good! Xie Yu! I’m so lucky to have you as my son! Get out! Get out!”

After scolding him, Xie Liangjun angrily pulled open the iron door of the fire escape and left in a huff.

Remembering something, Xie Yu lifted his foot to follow. “Dad, do you know Sun Weimin, Sun Yaozong’s uncle? The deputy director of the xx bureau, you…”

Xie Liangjun suddenly stopped, turned around, and kicked him again, unable to bear it any longer. He lowered his voice and scolded, “Do I need you to teach me what to do! I’ll handle this myself, don’t cause me any trouble! Get out! I get annoyed just looking at you!”

Xie Yu rubbed his leg. His dad hadn’t held back with that kick, it was probably bruised. Frowning, he said, “My mom…”

Xie Liangjun was truly angered by his words, annoyed he said, “Does my wife need you to worry about her?! Get out of here quickly, I don’t want to see you!”

Xie Yu stood where he was, watching his dad’s furious back disappear.

After his dad entered the ward, he went to the attending physician’s office to carefully inquire about his mother and sister’s condition, confirming that they were both fine, then he went downstairs expressionlessly.

Twelfth floor, he didn’t take the elevator. The anger in Xie Yu’s heart needed to be burned off so he could control himself from killing that Sun bastard.

Xie Yu took out his phone and called Ling Qi, telling him to immediately get the owner of Yunding Hotel, Wang Yijie, to meet him right now. Ling Qi heard his tone and knew something had happened without asking, so he agreed without hesitation.

Walking out of the inpatient building, the sky was already dark, and a light drizzle was falling. Xie Yu looked up, squinting slightly, looking at the sky that didn’t seem like it would thunder.

But to be on the safe side, Xie Yu still called Chen Zhuo. Chen Zhuo answered almost instantly.

Until that familiar, clear voice came through, the tense nerves in Xie Yu’s body finally relaxed. Standing in the rain, he said softly, “Little Zhuo’er…”

Ever since talking to Xie Yu on the phone and learning about Cheng Tangyu’s premature birth, Chen Zhuo had been restless all afternoon, staying in the dorm and quietly guarding his phone.

Chen Zhuo asked nervously, “Is Auntie awake? How’s her body? How’s your sister? What did the doctor say?”

Xie Yu’s coat was stained with traces of the drizzle. He was very tired. “My mom’s body is fine, but her energy is badly depleted. She’ll need a year or two to recover. My sister is fine too, developing well, but they won’t let me see her. She has to stay in the incubator.”

The big stone in Chen Zhuo’s heart finally fell to the ground, and he breathed a sigh of relief. “What about you?”

Xie Yu seemed not to understand, pulled his clothes tighter, and walked towards the hospital gate. “Me? What about me?”

Chen Zhuo leaned back in his computer chair, his ear pressed tightly against the phone, trying to be closer to Xie Yu.

“How are you? You sound tired.”

Xie Yu paused, the rain was getting heavier, and the wind blew it against him, the wet clothes were cold.

Chen Zhuo heard the wind and the sound of rain hitting Xie Yu’s shoulders. He turned to look out the window, worried. “Where are you? Are you outside? Why aren’t you with Auntie? Are you getting rained on?”

Xie Yu quickly walked out of the hospital and stood under the eaves of a small shop. He sneezed. “Ah, right, I have something to do, so I came out. My dad is with her in the hospital, and there are nurses, so it’s okay.”

Chen Zhuo looked at the increasingly heavy rain outside. “Xie Yu, can I come find you? Is it convenient? Just a meeting.”

Xie Yu was somewhat moved. Even through the internet, Chen Zhuo could keenly perceive his unusual emotions. “I’m really okay, baby. It’s raining so hard, I’m worried about you coming out.”

Chen Zhuo said anxiously, “It’s raining so hard, what if there’s thunder? Should I sleep hugging Zhao Jiashu or Li Ang? Let’s just meet, you go do your thing, I’ll just find a hotel to stay in.”

For some reason, Chen Zhuo desperately wanted to see Xie Yu, his heart felt terribly empty. He wanted to touch Xie Yu, to hug Xie Yu.

Chen Zhuo’s tone sounded somewhat pleading. How could Xie Yu refuse him like that? What’s more, Xie Yu also wanted to see him.

Xie Yu said, “Okay, I’ll book a hotel and send you the address and room number in a while. But I have something to do right now, and it’s just as well, you can wait for the rain to ease up before you come over, okay?”

Chen Zhuo didn’t ask what Xie Yu was going to do, feeling that the answer was something he couldn’t bear. He just nodded, “Okay, I’ll wait for you.”

Five minutes later, Xie Yu sent the hotel address and room number. Chen Zhuo put on his coat, grabbed an umbrella, and went out.

The heavy rain was pouring down, hitting the umbrella with a crackling sound.

Chen Zhuo especially hated rainy days, hated the sound of rain, hated this humid atmosphere. Unless it was a special situation, he never went out in the rain.

But thinking that he could see Xie Yu, he fearlessly stepped on the puddles and strode out.

In this weather, students generally didn’t go out, and there were no taxis available outside the school.

Chen Zhuo booked a ride on a ride-hailing app. While standing in the waiting area, an Audi slowly parked in front of him.
