    Chapter 21 Military Training

Hua University’s military training lasts for two weeks, during which students cannot leave the school and there are no weekends.

Yu Zhanrong asked for a week off from his livestream, and planned to decide about the remaining week based on his new roommates’ attitudes. However, he didn’t expect that his first meeting with his new roommates would leave him speechless.

On registration day, Yu Zhanrong went to school very late because he had been up all night the day before. Because he arrived relatively late, he was assigned to dormitory 311, which was shared with students from other majors.

The dormitory door wasn’t locked, and he could faintly hear people talking inside. As Yu Zhanrong pushed the door open, the three people inside simultaneously turned to look at him.

Their movements and expressions were identical, making him feel like they would all disappear with a “whoosh” in the next second, and then a prompt tone would appear saying “great!”

Shaking off the inexplicable thoughts in his head, Yu Zhanrong smiled amiably and greeted them first, “Hello, everyone.”

    “Wow, you’re so good-looking!”

Yang You couldn’t take his eyes off Yu Zhanrong as soon as he saw him. What kind of angelic roommate was this? So well-behaved and good-looking, and he even has a dimple when he smiles?

He rushed over in a few steps, enthusiastically grabbed Yu Zhanrong’s hand, and stared intently at his face, “My name is Yang You, you can call me Youzi. You’re really good-looking, simply divine!”

Yu Zhanrong became inexplicably shy from the praise. It wasn’t that he had never been praised before, but wasn’t this a bit too direct?

His new roommate Yang You was like a natural, completely unaware that this was their first meeting. He pulled him over and pointed to the other two behind him, introducing them, “This is Tang Wei, this is Liu Yi.”

“My name is Yu Zhanrong, nice to meet you.”

Yang You’s eyes sparkled: His voice is also so nice~

There was only one empty bed left in the dormitory. Yu Zhanrong pulled his suitcase over and was surprised to find that the bed boards and desk had all been wiped clean. He turned to look at Yang You.

“They all say that the best relationships in college are with roommates. Since you were arriving late, the three of us helped clean up a bit together.”

    These roommates are so enthusiastic.

    “Thank you.”

    Yang You’s heart melted: He’s too well-behaved!

Yu Zhanrong paused, then slowly looked at Yang You, blinking in confusion.

Damn, why is this person still staring at him like that, with such a naked, yet incredibly pure gaze?

    “You—”

“Sorry, I couldn’t help it. You’re too good-looking, I can’t control myself, and I can’t control my eyes either.” Yang You covered his face apologetically. It’s too hard being appearance-obsessed.

Everyone in the dormitory laughed, and the unfamiliarity of their first meeting gradually dissipated at that moment.

Tang Wei nudged Yu Zhanrong with her mouth: “Surprising, right? This is also the first time I’ve seen someone be a simp for their roommate.”

The facts were right in front of them, and no one could deny it. Yu Zhanrong was indeed born good-looking.

With this face value, even if he wears a green military training uniform, he will still be the most eye-catching one on the playground.

Tsk, I’m waiting for Hua University’s forum to have a trending topic.

    August 15th, registration.

August 16th, military training officially begins.

At 6:45 AM, the first whistle sounded. Yu Zhanrong dragged his tired body out of bed with a face full of sorrow, his heart filled with dread for military training.

He has no interest in sports at all, and it seems like he doesn’t have any athletic cells. Every PE class is a disaster, let alone military training.

The playground was a sea of green, and everyone looked almost the same at a glance. Yu Zhanrong felt dizzy. He followed Yang You to find his class, joined the formation, and stood at attention.

The young instructors marched into the field in neat steps and stood at their respective classes. One class had one instructor and one teaching assistant.

When Yu Zhanrong saw who it was, he subconsciously pressed down the brim of his hat.

    OMG

The teaching assistant = Song Baiyan?!

It’s true that he wanted to see Song Baiyan, but not now. This is the last place he wanted to see him.

Thinking about the embarrassing situation he might find himself in, Yu Zhanrong closed his eyes in despair. He felt a little dizzy. Could he faint?

Yang You, who was standing next to him, excitedly bumped him and whispered, “Look, look, our class’s teaching assistant is so handsome!”

    I’m not looking.

“No, why are your eyes closed? Take a look!”

Yu Zhanrong gritted his teeth in his heart. Bro, please stop talking. He and Yang You are the most conspicuous ones right now.

Sure enough, as soon as he raised his eyes, he saw Song Baiyan looking in their direction. Yu Zhanrong forced out a smile that he thought was extremely well-behaved, and then quickly lowered his head.

The first item of military training was formation movements. Perhaps it was nervousness, or perhaps he really couldn’t tell left from right, but during the stationary turning exercises, he kept bumping into the person next to him.

When he once again met a face that was so shocked it was turning red, Yu Zhanrong really couldn’t control his expression and chuckled.

This classmate was really something. Yu Zhanrong kept facing him whenever he turned left, making him feel nervous. Seeing that he looked like he had given up on life, Yu Zhanrong couldn’t help but laugh even more.

He wasn’t really laughing at his classmate, it was just that this moment happened to hit his funny bone.

“What’s that classmate laughing at? Step forward!” The instructor’s serious voice rang out.

    Yu Zhanrong: I’m broken.

Then the one turning red became Yu Zhanrong.

    “Name.”

    “Yu Zhanrong!”

The instructor stood up straight, tall and upright, and said in a loud voice, “Everyone, about face!”

Everyone turned to face the instructor in unison.

    “Yu Zhanrong, step forward!”

    “Yes!”

Yu Zhanrong was pulled to the front of the line, facing all the students. He only felt his face burning hot, and he stared at the trousers of the student three meters away from him, not daring to make eye contact with anyone.

    So socially dead.

Originally, Yu Zhanrong was standing in the corner and didn’t attract much attention. Now that he was standing in the front, everyone could clearly see his face, and they couldn’t help but gasp in unison.

Before the instructor could even start reprimanding him, he was amused by the constant “Report!” sounds.

“A whole class of attention-seekers, huh? Come on, run three laps around the other classes, don’t miss a single class, and show off properly. Yu Zhanrong, you lead the way.”

“Listen to my command, everyone, running—start!”

Yu Zhanrong felt like dying. Every time he passed another class, he wanted to cover his face and sprint, but there were so many classes, and he had to run three laps?

He might just pass out on the playground and be watched by everyone before he even finished.

Since the instructor designated Yu Zhanrong to lead the team, the sports committee member Chu Hao was behind him.

Faced with the gazes coming from all directions, Chu Hao saw that he was running so slowly and whispered to him, “Yu, classmate, why don’t we run faster? We can be embarrassed for a little less time.”

    Yu Zhanrong wanted to cry.

He also wanted to run faster, but the playground was so big. If he ran three laps quickly, he would probably faint on the way.

Yu Zhanrong thought as he ran, was it better to run slowly and be embarrassed slowly, or just go faster and be embarrassed big time later?

Thinking of Song Baiyan standing next to the instructor, Yu Zhanrong decided to tell the truth and not force himself.

He leaned back a little and replied, “My heart has slow blood supply. If I run too fast, my heart rate will be too high, and I might have insufficient blood supply and black out.”

    Chu Hao: “”

    Oh.
