    Chapter 101: Visiting

    Chapter 101: Visiting

In order to have a few days of carefree fun, Yu Zhanrong started a live stream for his “fish bubbles” at home, chatting until late into the night before yawning and finally going to sleep.

The next day, Yu Zhanrong was awakened by a series of knocks on the door. He was puzzled, as usually people just pushed the door open and came in. Why the endless knocking today?

He kept his eyes closed and shouted impatiently, “Just come in, stop knocking, it’s giving me a headache!”

The knocking stopped. Yu Zhanrong’s voice grew quieter.

With a “click,” the door opened.

The person in bed was lying face-down on the pillow, breathing evenly, with a slight frown on his brow, still showing the impatience of being disturbed.

Probably because the heating was on in the room, he was only covered to his waist and back, his entire shoulder and arm exposed.

A shadow fell over the head of the bed. Yu Zhanrong didn’t even open his eyes, assuming it was his dad come to the bedside, and muttered, “Why are you knocking? So noisy.”

    “The door was locked.”

“…Then how did you get in?”

“Your aunt gave me a spare key.”

The person in bed stayed silent with their eyes closed for a while, then suddenly, like a zombie, propped themselves up and looked over.

Song Baiyan was looking down at him, holding the key to his door in his hand.

“Aren’t you going to get up yet?”

Yu Zhanrong’s hand went limp, and he fell back onto the bed, dazed for a moment. After confirming it wasn’t a dream, he rolled over and lay sprawled out on his back, then stretched out both arms: “Senior Brother, I’m so sleepy.”

Song Baiyan glanced at the doorway, sat on the edge of the bed, and pulled the outstretched arm, half-hugging the person up: “Aren’t you afraid your parents will see?”

Yu Zhanrong buried his face in Song Baiyan’s neck and shook his head. His parents both knew they were together; one was happy to see it, and the other had already completed self-persuasion. What was there to be afraid of?

“Why did you come so early?”

Song Baiyan looked at the faint light coming in through the window and said, “It’s almost noon. I played a game of chess with your dad before coming up.”

    “Oh.”

The person on his shoulder sleepily clung to his shoulder, let out an “oh,” and then fell silent again. Song Baiyan gently held the back of his head and said softly, “Baby, get up, have lunch, pick up Guan Yanzhi, and then we’ll be ready to leave.”

Yu Zhanrong’s eyes were closed, but the corners of his mouth curved up. He didn’t know why, but every “baby” from Song Baiyan sounded especially gentle and tender.

Although it was cheesy, every time he heard it, he felt both a burst of embarrassment and secret delight.

The back of his head was rubbed again, urging him silently. Yu Zhanrong buried himself deeper into his neck. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to get up, it was just that he was really sleepy.

Song Baiyan’s grasp of people’s hearts was perfect. The phrase “Wild Goose and Book” successfully dragged him up.

After having lunch with Yu’s parents, the two drove away together.

Since playing a game of chess with Song Baiyan, Yu Sheng had been full of praise for him. Even after they left, he was still praising him non-stop, “Little Song is very good, calm and composed, yet not lacking in courage. With him watching over you, I can rest assured.”

Watching the car leave the villa district, Zhan Yue retracted her gaze: “Just because of a game of chess?”

“What do you mean ‘just because of a game of chess’? A person’s character can be seen in their chess game. You wouldn’t understand.”

Zhan Yue was too lazy to argue with him, slapped his arm, and asked, “You’ve accepted it and aren’t awkward about it anymore?”

Yu Sheng was silent for a moment, gave her a “guess” look, and turned to go inside.

Zhan Yue wanted to hit him.

It took over an hour to fly from Hua City to Nan City. The three people were sitting in the same row of seats. Guan Yanzhi was going out to play alone with her brothers for the first time, and she kept chirping non-stop. Song Baiyan occasionally responded to her once or twice.

This little girl was a social butterfly. Before long, she was chatting with a friend of the same age sitting next to her, opening her mouth to say, “These two are my brothers, aren’t they handsome?”

The smug look on her face made Song Baiyan want to shake his head, but his shoulder was occupied by a sleeping boyfriend, and any movement would make him frown unhappily.

He turned his head slightly to glance at the golden hair, then turned his gaze back: “Guan Yanzhi, keep it down.”

Guan Yanzhi withdrew and looked at the person on his shoulder, covered her mouth, blinked her eyes, and took out her phone to exchange contact information with the neighbor.

Yu Zhanrong slept all the way and finally woke up as the plane was about to land. He stretched his arms and yawned, feeling refreshed.

    “Almost there, right?”

“If you didn’t wake up, your brother was going to have to carry you out.” Guan Yanzhi leaned over Song Baiyan and said softly.

“Ouch!” Guan Yanzhi covered her head and glared at the instigator: “Why did you hit me?”

Yu Zhanrong lifted his eyelids and blew on his bent index finger. You little fish bubble, you’re getting too bold. It was one thing when you were behind the live stream, but now you dare to tease me in person.

Although he didn’t speak, his warning look was enough to make Guan Yanzhi shut up obediently and sit back down.

She tugged at Song Baiyan’s arm and complained softly, “Brother, look at him.”

“What’s wrong? Isn’t this the same as when you two were plotting against me with Yu Bao?”

One sentence silenced them both at the same time. Guan Yanzhi’s eyes darted around, refusing to look at him. Yu Zhanrong turned his head to look out the window.

Before boarding the plane, Guan Yanzhi had somehow gotten oranges that were so sour they made people cry. The two had worked together to trick Song Baiyan into eating one, and they had laughed until they were rolling on the floor when they saw his eyes widen with the sourness.

Knowing they were in the wrong, the two were very well-behaved until they got off the plane.

The group went straight from the airport to the Nan City Anime Expo venue, which was also the venue for the “Wild Goose and Book” fan meeting.

It took over an hour to get from the airport to the venue, and along the way, Yu Zhanrong witnessed the incredible power of makeup. He watched Guan Yanzhi apply makeup all the way in the car, and then he barely recognized her.

There were a lot of people at the venue, and as far as the eye could see, there were cosplayers of various anime characters. Yu Zhanrong looked at the girl next to him, who was dressed in pink from head to toe, and whose eyes lit up as soon as she entered the venue. She really fit in here.

“Go have fun.” Song Baiyan pressed down on the restless Guan Yanzhi and pointed in the direction indicated by the inner field sign next to her: “We’ll be inside. Call us if you need anything. Just play in the venue, don’t go out, okay?”

Guan Yanzhi had been eager to try it for a long time, nodding at whatever Song Baiyan said. After he finished speaking, she raised her bird-head staff and rushed inside.

The “Wild Goose and Book” meet-and-greet venue was located at the very back of Hall 3, surrounded by railings, which was probably the dividing line between the inner and outer fields.

Outside stood two life-size posters, featuring the latest radio drama roles of CV Wild Goose and CV With Book.

Yu Zhanrong led Song Baiyan to have their tickets checked and entered, standing at the end of the line. The line was already long, and each person only had a little time to interact with the two CVs.

He looked at the people blocked outside the fence, leaned back, and got closer to Song Baiyan’s shoulder, asking softly, “Senior Brother, where did you buy the tickets? You’re amazing.”

Song Baiyan gently tugged at the mask strap behind his ear: “Do you know what Xu Yihang does?”

So it was him. That made sense, since they were both in the industry and must have some connections.

    Yu Zhanrong nodded.

Song Baiyan was tall and stood out from the crowd. The golden hair of the boy in front of him was even more eye-catching, and gazes gathered from all directions.

Suddenly, a pressure tightened on his head, and a baseball cap was put on backwards. Yu Zhanrong turned his head in confusion to look at Song Baiyan.

Song Baiyan tucked the golden hair that was sticking out from his ears into the hat and said naturally, “Your hair color is too obvious, it’s easy to be recognized.”

Yu Zhanrong let out an “oh” and allowed him to do as he pleased, completely unaware of how intimate their behavior seemed to others.

“Yu’er, the hair on the back of your neck is getting a bit long.”

“Hehe~” Yu Zhanrong reached back and touched the back of his neck, then turned around, his eyes crinkling as he looked at him, “I want to get a wolf cut, what do you think?”

    “Your fish bubbles said that?”

“They photoshopped all kinds of hairstyles onto my character design and sent them to me. Xingxing has shown it to me. They like the wolf cut, it’s very handsome.” As Yu Zhanrong spoke, he pulled out the pictures to show him.

A gleam flashed in Song Baiyan’s eyes. He had to admit that the fans really knew how to choose. This wolf cut was very suitable for Yu Zhanrong.

    “It looks good, right?”

“It looks good.” Song Baiyan rubbed his fingers together, looked at the hair covered by the hat, and suddenly really wanted to ruffle it.

“With this hairstyle, the hair in the back can be tied up, right?” Looking at the picture, the hair could cover the entire back of the neck.

“Maybe I can tie it into a little bun.” Yu Zhanrong touched his head, but couldn’t feel the hair, so he put his hand down again, “So, I have to keep it for a while longer, and then go cut it when it grows out.”
