Chapter 74: New Voice Always Stands By Your Side.

When Xu Jing returned, Yan Zhe and Lin Jiayu were animatedly chatting, and Shen Yan was wedged between them. Although he didn’t seem to show much expression, he would occasionally reply with a few words. Xu Jing was wondering what these two were talking about when he realized they were discussing his embarrassing past. Knowing Yan Zhe and Lin Jiayu’s tendencies, they must have exaggerated things while he was gone. He immediately gave them a warning look. If they kept talking, what difference would there be between him and running naked in front of Shen Yan?

As he left, Yan Zhe didn’t forget to mention the signed photo again, his face beaming with sunshine. Even if someone were to scold him right now, he could politely reply, “How did you know I have Aiden’s signed photo?”

Shen Yan seemed to be in a good mood on the way back, occasionally leaning over to kiss his cheek and squeeze their palms together. Xu Jing was about to tell Shen Yan what had just happened, but he hesitated.

Why would Shen Linzhi suddenly return to the country to find Shen Yan, and what did he mean by that last sentence he said?

After much deliberation, Xu Jing finally spoke, “I ran into that person in the restroom just now.”

Shen Yan belatedly realized what he was talking about, and the smile on his face instantly disappeared. “Did he do anything to you?”

“No, he just asked me how you’ve been lately.” Xu Jing glanced at Shen Yan, his voice almost certain. “You’re hiding something from me.”

Shen Yan’s expression faltered, and he didn’t speak.

“He also said he already knew about us. Since when?”

Shen Yan’s hand clenched slightly, and he said with some difficulty, “He knew soon after we got together.”

    “He’s been monitoring you?”

    “I guess so.”

Xu Jing looked around before stopping. “Is it happening now too?” he asked.

Shen Yan shook his head. “Not now.”

    “I’m sorry.”

Xu Jing frowned, confused. “Why are you apologizing?”

“This was originally just my own affair, but it has dragged you into it as well.” Shen Yan looked ahead, his voice low. “But don’t worry, I won’t let this keep happening.”

Xu Jing was silent for a long time. The quiet atmosphere made Shen Yan a little uneasy. Just as he was about to speak, he heard the person beside him ask in a very serious tone, “Does that mean he saw us kissing?”

Shen Yan’s brow twitched. He never expected Xu Jing to be thinking about this question after being silent for so long.

    “Perhaps.”

“Oh.” Xu Jing calmly gave his assessment: “Then your animalistic dad is really perverted.”

But then again, being able to remain unmoved after seeing his son kissing another boy, if Shen Linzhi wasn’t so open-minded due to living abroad for many years, then it could only be said that this father didn’t care about Shen Yan at all.

Shen Yan was defeated by Xu Jing’s calmness and asked hesitantly, “You don’t mind?”

“What’s there to mind? It’s just a kiss. Will he monitor us if there’s anything more intimate in the future?”

Shen Yan smiled upon hearing that, but he pretended not to understand and deliberately asked, “More intimate, like what?”

Xu Jing was silent for two seconds before saying directly, “Sleeping together.”

Shen Yan nodded approvingly. “That makes sense,” he said.

Even the most insane person wouldn’t want to see their son doing that kind of thing with another boy, right? Xu Jing turned his head in confusion and immediately realized the truth from Shen Yan’s ambiguous smile.

This person was pretending to be confused and teasing him.

“Then when will you do something more intimate with me?” Shen Yan put his arm around Xu Jing’s shoulder and said extremely ambiguously, “Hmm? Seatmate.”

The sound traveled through his body like an electric current, causing Xu Jing to shiver involuntarily.

    “Don’t call me that.”

    “Why?”

    “It’ll give me a boner.”

    “…”

Shen Yan’s legs felt weak from those words. He suddenly realized that Xu Jing, who seemed gentle and mild, could actually be quite a hooligan at times.

The two walked home quietly all the way. Just as they were about to enter, Xu Jing suddenly stopped Shen Yan.

    “There’s one more thing.”

Shen Yan stopped and slowly turned around, only to see a hint of warmth in Xu Jing’s eyes. He tiptoed and gently placed a kiss on his forehead.

“No matter what happens, I’ll always stand by your side.”

He didn’t choose to do this in the room, but instead stood outside the door, in a place where that person could see everything clearly if they wanted to.

It was like a silent declaration of war.

Shen Yan’s eyes were obscure and unclear. He stepped forward, lowered his head, and hugged Xu Jing tightly. The warm breath surrounded his neck. At this moment, their hearts were beating in unison.

The breeze rustled through the treetops, and the fallen leaves rustled. Shen Yan didn’t answer, but only held the person in his arms even tighter.

    *

The holiday flew by, and Linhe No.1 High School inhumanely started school half a month early. In addition to separating students into arts and science classes, the school also redistributed the key classes and regular classes based on the final exam scores. This start of the school year was obviously more lively than before.

Because Class Four had performed well overall last semester, Shen Yan and Xu Jing saw many familiar faces after entering the classroom, and most of those who participated in the comprehensive competition were also there. But one thing was unexpected: Lu Haichuan had actually come to the science key class.

In other words, this person not only sprinted from a mid-level to the top 50 in the grade in half a semester, but also abandoned his highly talented geography studies to switch to science. Xu Jing couldn’t help but be stunned when he saw the person sitting crookedly in the middle of the classroom.

Cha Fei’ang had performed exceptionally well on the last final exam. He usually ranked around 100th, but at the critical moment, he actually scored 28th in the grade. The day the results came out, Cha Fei’ang pestered his parents to buy him the game console he had been longing for, and then played it day and night for a summer vacation.

Noticing the two people who had entered the door, Cha Fei’ang quickly waved and shouted, “Here, here, God Yan, Brother Jing, I specially saved seats for you two.”

After a year of accumulation, almost no one in the school didn’t know Shen Yan and Xu Jing. Cha Fei’ang’s loud voice made the entire class turn their heads. The gazes were like stage lights in front of the screen, instantly making them the focus.

    The two: “…”

Because Zheng Tong’s science scores were average, he finally chose to go to the arts class. At this time, a boy with a buzz cut and a sunny smile was sitting in his seat. When the boy turned his head, he said from the bottom of his heart, “Damn, you two brothers are really handsome.”

Shen Yan and Xu Jing had become numb to these words, so they didn’t react. The boy still smiled cheerfully, his hearty voice conveying a sense of righteousness. “By the way, my name is Liang Ge.”

Shen Yan looked at him and said, “From the North?”

    “Yeah, how did you know?”

    “…”

Cha Fei’ang thought, “Isn’t it obvious? The heavy northern accent is practically slapping us in the face.”

“My parents are doing business here, so I came here with them when I was in elementary school. You guys aren’t going to be prejudiced against people from other regions, are you?”

Cha Fei’ang waved his hand and joked, “We discriminate against stupidity. We don’t play with idiots.”

Liang Ge blinked his bright eyes and said, “Ah? Then are you willing to play with me? I feel like I’m pretty smart.”

Cha Fei’ang almost spat out the water he was drinking.

    What an honest northern boy.

Xu Jing couldn’t stand it anymore and said, “Why are you paying attention to him?”

Liang Ge sighed a long sigh and said dejectedly, “My previous female classmate was prejudiced against me.”

Cha Fei’ang said “Ah” and asked with a sympathetic look, “How did she discriminate against you?”

“She thought people from the North were stupid and would laugh at me every time the scores came out.” Liang Ge turned sideways and pointed to the girl in the first row by the window who was looking at a comic book with her head down. “It’s her, Gu Qianqian.”

Gu Qianqian looked like a typical southern girl, with a slender figure, fair skin, and a loosely tied ponytail, revealing a soft and quiet profile.

“Are you sure she was really laughing at you before?”

“Really! She would seize every opportunity to tutor me, saying she couldn’t stand having someone as stupid as me around her.” Liang Ge’s voice revealed strong indignation.

Hearing this, all three of them fell silent.

Especially Cha Fei’ang, who suddenly felt a sense of disappointment.

As if she heard someone badmouthing her behind her back, Gu Qianqian suddenly turned her head at this moment and glanced over here with a light look. Liang Ge immediately stopped talking.

“Buddy, you should eat more walnuts to nourish your brain,” Cha Fei’ang patted Liang Ge’s shoulder.

    “…”

So much for not being discriminatory.

Liang Ge’s heart was broken once again.

    “Alright, students, quiet down.”

Immediately afterward, a familiar and gentle female voice came from the classroom door. Time seemed to stop for half a second, and then the whole class burst into an uproar.

    “Teacher Liang!”

    “Ahhh, Teacher, look here!”

“Teacher Liang, you look so beautiful today!”

Liang Yin was wearing a casual white T-shirt and jeans today, with a simple and neat low ponytail. She looked youthful and beautiful. Hearing the praise, she smiled shyly and waved her hand to signal everyone to quiet down.

“Hello, students, my name is Liang Yin. From today onwards, I will be the homeroom teacher of Class One of the second year. Unless there are special circumstances, I will be with you until the end of the college entrance examination. There are many students in the class who were previously in our Class Four. If there is anything you don’t understand, you can ask them or come to the office to ask me.”

Liang Yin’s voice was gentle and powerful, which surprised the students who were not originally in Class Four.

“Damn, I heard that the homeroom teacher of Class Four was easy to talk to when I was in the first year. I didn’t expect her to be so gentle!” A student who was originally in Class Seven said in a particularly shocked tone.

“Right! Our Teacher Liang is the best!” A girl who was previously in Class Four replied proudly.

“Then what was it like for me to suffer a year of torment from a super fierce homeroom teacher?”

    “Consider yourself unlucky.”

    “…Damn.”

As everyone knew, the homeroom teacher of the original Class Seven had a temper comparable to a mad dog. No matter who made a mistake, he could drag them into the office and lecture them for two hours. In addition, with the devilish rules he made, even the most disobedient students would be tamed after being taught by him for half a semester.

At this time, those deeply tormented students said that they had finally seen the light.

The opening ceremony ended, followed by a cruel opening exam.

The freshmen who had just arrived in the first year were so shocked when they heard this news that they almost turned the teaching building upside down. In contrast, the second year had already accepted it. The entire teaching building was as calm as water, while the third year was even more uneventful, exuding a faint sense of death.

For each exam, the seats were arranged according to the final exam scores of that subject. Before the math exam, Xu Jing was sitting in the first place in the grade, turning his head to chat with Shen Yan behind him.

Lu Haichuan slowly walked in from the front door. He carried a stationery bag in his left hand and a bottle of Oriental Leaf in his right hand, and sat down next to Shen Yan in a sweeping manner.

“Hi, you two, long time no see.” After speaking, Lu Haichuan looked at Shen Yan again and said, “I asked you to play basketball during the summer vacation, why didn’t you reply to me?”

Shen Yan said coldly without turning his head, “Didn’t want to.”

“Okay, but now we’re in the same class, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future.”

Xu Jing’s expression was so cold that it was almost freezing. He really wanted to crack open Lu Haichuan’s head to see what was wrong with this person, who kept asking Shen Yan to play basketball every few days.

What’s there to play? Is he asking for a beating?

Lu Haichuan didn’t notice Xu Jing’s unfriendly gaze, but instead took the initiative to strike up a conversation, “So you’re the big shot who scored 149 on the math final exam. That’s so awesome.”

Lu Haichuan was a typical double standard dog. He was very easy to talk to when facing people who were stronger than him, and he didn’t hesitate to offer polite flattery. But when he encountered the weak, like Cha Fei’ang, who was scared out of his wits last time, he would unconsciously reveal disgust and contempt.

Xu Jing glanced at Lu Haichuan and said, “Is that so?”

“Yeah, I didn’t write the last big question and only scored 142.”

Xu Jing didn’t care how many points he scored at all. He fixed a dangerous gaze on Lu Haichuan’s face and said without warmth, “Let’s play basketball together when you’re free.”

Without thinking, Lu Haichuan immediately said, “Okay, no problem!”

Shen Yan found it a little strange and wanted to look for an answer on Xu Jing’s face, but at this time the person in front had already turned his head back. He only saw a perfect and aloof back of the head, which was emitting wisps of cold air.

    “…”
