Chapter 19: No Restrictions with You

Shu Lin had just found the phone number when Shu Lingxiao suddenly raised her hand to stop him:

“Shu Lin, don’t call. The Ministry of Defense has military operations recently, and private numbers will be blocked. You won’t be able to get through. Wait for him to come home tonight and ask him in person.”

Shu Lin wanted to say something but hesitated. He still tried to call, but as expected, he couldn’t get through.

He scratched his head and smiled sheepishly, “Then I’ll ask tonight. Anyway, it’s not until tomorrow afternoon, so there’s no rush.”

Shu Jingcheng asked suspiciously, “Lingxiao, how do you know the movements of the Ministry of Defense?”

Shu Lingxiao winked playfully, “Classified. I told you, I have my own information network. Dad, don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”

“Dad, if you don’t trust my sister, who can you trust? Anyway, I trust my sister,” Shu Lin was “brainlessly” adoring of his sister.

The two of them looked at each other, smiling at Shu Lin, their eyes full of affection.

Shu Lin didn’t return to the Ministry of Defense residence until after eight in the evening.

As he expected, Shao Chengxi wasn’t there.

He originally wanted to wait for him to come back before going to sleep, but after holding on until after twelve o’clock, Shu Lin couldn’t hold on any longer and fell asleep.

Shu Lin was awakened by the sound of water. He opened his eyes and saw that it was just dawn, but the sun hadn’t come out yet.

The sound of water was coming from the bathroom.

He happened to want to pee, so he rubbed his eyes and staggered to open the bathroom door. What he saw was Shao Chengxi’s completely naked back.

The muscle lines were extremely smooth.

    He was taking a shower.

Hearing a sound behind him, he turned around.

Shu Lin’s eyes widened instantly, and he uncontrollably glanced at a place he shouldn’t have. He said “Sorry” and hurriedly closed the door.

To be honest, this was the first time he had seen Shao Chengxi’s high-definition nude body.

    (In a sober state).

    Too, too shocking.

    Like a mountain.

He was so nervous he almost peed his pants.

After going to the guest bathroom outside to pee, he saw the National Defense Special Forces team lined up in the courtyard through the French windows, and immediately returned to the bedroom.

It seemed that Shao Chengxi had something to do in the morning and was about to leave, so he had to seize the time to ask him.

As soon as he opened the bedroom door, Shu Lin was pinned against the door, a large hand gripping his neck, making him unable to move.

Then, a series of dense and urgent kisses fell on his lips, and fragmented words rang in his ear:

“Sorry, baby, I have an urgent operation today. Don’t worry, I’ll be back before four in the afternoon, it won’t delay your betrothal gifts. Assistant Chen has prepared everything for attending the banquet. He will teach you the specifics.”

After speaking, Shu Lin was lifted high into the air with one arm and placed on the bed. Another deep kiss left him a little oxygen-deprived. While panting, his eyes were still dazed, but the culprit had already gotten up and strode out of the bedroom.

Hearing the door close, Shu Lin’s mind cleared a little. He reacted, immediately climbed out of bed, paused, ran to the window, and opened it.

Sure enough, Shao Chengxi was about to leave with his troops.

In a moment of desperation, Shu Lin shouted at the tallest man in the courtyard, “Shao Chengxi!”

Shao Chengxi quickly turned around, looked at him, with a serious expression and cold eyes.

Shu Lin felt a little strange, but he plucked up his courage and asked loudly, “My dad asked me to ask you, are there any taboos in your family?”

Shao Chengxi was wearing a military uniform, his body straight, raising his chin, he answered solemnly, as if swearing an oath:

“No, for you, there are no restrictions.”

Shu Lin’s heart trembled, and he stuttered inexplicably, “Oh… then, then there’s nothing else to ask, you, you’re busy, be careful, good, goodbye.”

Shao Chengxi straightened his back towards him, his posture upright, his eyes resolutely turned to the special forces team, his voice was loud and solemn, he ordered:

“Everyone, do not look around, right turn, forward march.”

A round of golden sunshine had just risen, and the morning light shone on their tall and mighty bodies, reflecting a dazzling halo, forming a unique landscape.

Shu Lin stood by the window, craning his neck to look into the distance, until he couldn’t see a trace of their figures, then he came back to his senses.

After eating breakfast, Assistant Chen kept him busy with this and that until noon before things calmed down.

When it was almost four o’clock in the afternoon, Shao Chengxi returned as expected.

After taking off his military uniform and changing into formal attire, he and Shu Lin rushed to the Shao Residence together.

Assistant Chen had already arranged for someone to pick up Shu Jingcheng and Shu Lingxiao.

The banquet hall for this meeting was located in Anju Villa, which was closest to Shao Tingrui’s residence.

As the car entered the South Mountain villa area, the Shu family of three looked out the window. On the surface, their faces were calm and unwavering, but their hearts were already exclaiming in surprise.

The first thing that came into view was a white marble gate, with exquisite dragon and phoenix patterns carved on the doorposts.

    The aura was magnificent.

Handsome and sturdy gatekeepers, dressed in neat uniforms, respectfully saluted their car.

Passing through the gate was a wide tree-lined avenue.

On both sides were tall ginkgo trees, their golden leaves shining in the sun.

Every so often there was an exquisite sculpture, some based on ancient Greek mythological figures, others were masterpieces of modern Imperial art.

The Shu family of three chatted in their family group.

Shu Lin: [Dad, Sis, did you see that? These sculptures are all carved from jade.]

The last time he came with Shao Chengxi was at night, so he didn’t notice these.

    Shu Jingcheng: [That’s right.]

    Shu Lingxiao: [How extravagant.]

    Shu Lin: [Too extravagant!!]

Shu Lin suddenly widened his eyes.

He recognized a sculpture as the work of a world-class master, which had sold for a sky-high price at auction.

The car continued forward, passing an artificial lake.

The lake surface was like a mirror, reflecting the blue sky and white clouds, and several elegant swans were swimming in the lake.

The shore was a meticulously manicured garden, with various precious flowers competing for beauty.

“That is…” Shu Lingxiao pointed to a glass building in the distance.

“A greenhouse,” Shao Chengxi explained, “It contains rare plants from all over the world. My grandfather likes it.”

Shu Lin couldn’t help but click his tongue.

The car turned a corner, and the view suddenly opened up.

Villas of various styles were built on the mountainside, scattered and well-arranged. Some were like European castles, others like modern art museums, each one a masterpiece of architecture.

“These villas…” Shu Jingcheng murmured, “Are they all yours, Shao family’s?”

“That’s right, each one is inhabited by a direct descendant of the Shao family. In the future, we will live here too.”

Shu Lin secretly counted them, there were at least twenty, and he couldn’t help but feel a little dazed.

In fact, the Shu family’s financial situation was still pretty good.

Before Shu Jingcheng got sick, he ran an advertising company with less than fifty employees. It was well-known in the industry, and the income had been very stable.

Shu Lingxiao’s starting point in the procuratorate was not low. From the time she joined, her income was considered above average among civil servants.

After becoming the head of the public prosecution section, her salary level rose to another level.

Shu Lin liked acting and had a lot of talent in this area. When he took the university entrance exam, he originally wanted to apply to art schools specializing in performance.

But his family considered his safety and didn’t want him to appear in front of the screen, to avoid his face attracting too much attention.

After comprehensive consideration, they had him apply for a voice acting major, to work behind the scenes.

After starting university, he sometimes took on some small commercial jobs, which allowed him to earn some pocket money.

The apartment where the Shu family lived was a large flat of nearly 300 square meters, which was not small.

Compared to the Shao Residence now…

    There was no comparison.

The car finally stopped in front of a Chinese-style courtyard.

The vermilion gate was inlaid with gold-lacquered door nails, and two majestic stone lions squatted in front of the gate.

“We’re here,” Shao Chengxi said, “This is Anju Villa. The Shao family usually organizes large events here.”

The Shu family of three got out of the car one after another.
