    74 Chapter 74

◎Because I want you to come every day.◎

When the alarm clock rang, Shen Lingjun thought he was in bed at home.

With his eyes closed, he touched his phone to turn off the alarm clock, then subconsciously rubbed it in, but his head hit something cold and hard. He was shocked by the ice, and he opened his eyes in a daze. The little snowman ornament opened automatically due to the bump he just made, and was emitting a dim and soft light.

Shen Lingjun sat up and stared at the night light. He found it on the bedside table at home after waking up yesterday. At first, he thought it was a smaller version of the snowman that Liang Ji’an piled in the yard. The glass ornaments were as clear as ice, and the snowman’s lower body was covered with two to three centimeters of snow. His expression was a bit dull. He was wearing not a scarf around his neck, but a necklace that was wrapped twice and decorated with a small padparadscha.

He liked this ornament very much. He even stuffed it in his bag when he went back to school and put it next to his pillow. It was only now that he accidentally discovered that it was a night light.

Shen Lingjun reached out and tapped the snowman’s head again. The light slowly dimmed, but the gem was still dazzling. He suddenly realized something, took off the snowman’s necklace and tried to wrap it around his wrist. Sure enough, it was just right.

The drowsiness was gone, but he was still a little dizzy. Shen Lingjun sat on the bed with his knees together and legs apart. The night light flickered on and off under his hand, like his heart that was beating erratically.

    He suddenly missed Liang Jian.

Pan Siyun woke up five minutes later than him. He touched the sweater placed on the chair and put it on his head, “Lingjun, are you awake? This morning is Lao Zhao’s introduction to communication. If you are late, your usual points will be deducted.”

“Wake up.” Shen Lingjun opened the bed curtain and said to Pan Siyun who was putting on his down jacket and shoes: “It’s only seven ten, why are you in such a hurry?”

Pan Siyun was in a hurry, “Hurry up and get down, we want to grab the seat in the back row.”

“He especially likes to ask people to answer questions in class. Have you forgotten about it after not coming to class for a long time?”

Shen Lingjun’s memory slowly recovered a little, and the expression on his face gradually became dementia. The fear of being completely dominated by the teacher was exactly the same as now. He sat in the third row from the bottom and tried to lower his head, but to no avail.

The teacher on the podium leaned his neck slightly forward, held his glasses with his thumb and index finger and looked around like a searchlight, “Classmate, please answer this question – how do you understand the saying that the medium is an extension of the person?”

“Don’t hide, it’s you, the classmate with light blond hair and an off-white coat.” The teacher smiled and said, “Shen Lingjun, right? I haven’t seen you come to class for a long time. It doesn’t matter. You can speak freely about this issue. There is no right or wrong.”

    Shen Lingjun: “…a good teacher.”

He tried hard to use what little textbook knowledge he had left to piece together an answer, but fortunately his expression was quite fluent. The teacher listened with a smile and motioned for him to sit down.

Shen Lingjun can’t guarantee whether this hair color will turn heads on the street, but the probability of being noticed in the classroom is almost 100%. When queuing up for food in the cafeteria, Shen Lingjun said with some annoyance: “Don’t everyone in the class have fancy hair colors? How come Zhao saw me at a glance?”

“What do you think?” Pan Siyun pointed to his clothes, hair and accessories, “Everyone came here at eight in the morning wrapped in a cotton-padded jacket. You are so well-organized. Why are you going? Hurry up and recruit us truthfully.”

Shen Lingjun stood in line at the stir-fry window and pointed to four dishes, “Auntie, please pack these dishes. Thank you.”

“I’m going to my brother’s company to deliver food to him.” Shen Lingjun thought for a while and smiled: “Everyone in the office building wears suits and ties. I feel very out of place in a down jacket. I can’t embarrass my brother.”

Pan Siyun snorted coldly, “Okay, you won’t have dinner with me the day after you come back, right?”

Shen Lingjun was a little embarrassed. After buying the meal, he went to get three cups of yogurt. He handed Pan Siyun one cup and said, “Only occasionally, I eat in the cafeteria with you at night. You will always be my best meal partner.”

Shen Lingjun was worried that his outfit would stand out among the dark colors. In fact, his blond hair was hard not to notice from the moment he got off the car and entered the lobby. The staff at the front desk was deeply impressed by the young master. Before Shen Lingjun could even brush his face, the two gates in front let him in smoothly.

After he got on the exclusive elevator and made sure he was completely out of hearing, the front desk lowered his voice and said, “This seems to be the first time that the young master has come to the company on his own initiative.”

“He looked unhappy every time he came here before. He was carrying a lunch box in his hand. Is it for Mr. Liang?”

“I really want to persuade him to make a debut… Is there any other way for me to see him more? It’s just for appreciation and nothing else.”

“You are not allowed to discuss matters unrelated to work during working hours.” The supervisor’s voice sounded faintly behind him. He pressed the heads of the two subordinates and asked them to turn back to the computer screen. “We will deduct wages if we talk anymore.”

“Ding——” The elevator reached the top floor. Shen Lingjun found Liang Ji’an’s office with ease and knocked on the door.

I didn’t hear a response, but the door of the assistant office next door opened. Shen Lingjun came here often before. Although he was not familiar, he still knew his face. Assistant Lin said to him politely: “Young master, Mr. Liang is in a meeting. He said that you can just go in when you are here. Just use facial recognition.”

    Shen Lingjun nodded, “Thank you.”

The office has not changed much. The game cartridges that Shen Lingjun has not finished playing are still neatly placed in the low cabinet. There are some new snacks and drinks. The other layout is the same as before.

There is a small cake on the coffee table.

Shen Lingjun walked to the sofa and wondered, how did he know I would come today?

He walked around the office a little bored, not knowing how long Liang Jian’s meeting would last, so he simply took off his coat and sat cross-legged on the carpet, pulling out the half-finished puzzle and continuing.

In fact, Shen Lingjun doesn’t like to play this game very much, but he also has obsessive-compulsive disorder, and he can’t get enough of himself if he can’t finish the game. Liang Ji’an also deliberately tempers him, and the smallest picture is more than 500 pieces.

In less than half an hour, Liang Ji’an came back from the meeting. Shen Lingjun was already engrossed in his work. He lowered his head and pointed his fingers at several similar pieces to identify them carefully, unaware that someone was approaching behind him.

The winter sunlight filtered through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows and gently brushed the top of his plush hair, making it look like a light dandelion, both cute and soft.

Liang Jian once hated this kind of yellow hair because of Luo Mingyuan and even earlier because of Ji Yuxuan. But now that Shen Lingjun’s hair has been dyed light blonde, he only feels that his children look like noble little princes.

They hadn’t seen each other for a day, but Liang Jian seemed to have been away from him for a long time. She couldn’t bear to look away from him for even a moment. Shen Lingjun gradually felt that the small part of the back of his neck that was exposed was burning, and he turned around and looked up at him.

The round glasses were opened wide, completely hiding the small mole.

Liang Jian squatted down and opened the small cake, “Why don’t you eat it?”

Shen Lingjun said in a descriptive tone: “You knew I would come today.”

Liang Jian just said: “Snacks are available every day.”

Because I want you to come every day.
