Oh My Hero – Episode 65

    65. Guide (10)

I’m almost glad I haven’t been able to reissue Woojin’s Smartwatch because I’ve been so busy lately. If he had it now, everyone who knows him would be calling and it would be chaos.

‘Would Woojin be okay since he doesn’t know many people at the Association?’

Anyway, the results of the New Year’s meeting have put me in a very difficult situation.

Because Woojin’s handsome face was emblazoned across the sky in huge letters, everyone around us was staring.

“Is that person… the next team leader?”

    “I think I’ve seen him somewhere… Isn’t he Gang Hana’s man?”

“Wow… he’s incredibly handsome. Do they pick team leaders based on looks?”

The people around us began to murmur and gather near us.

Woojin’s face also began to stiffen as he saw them.

I had to resolve this situation quickly.

I hid Woojin behind me and shouted at the people.

“What?! Why are you all coming this way? Go on your way!”

However, the gathering people showed no sign of backing down.

“Let’s have a word with the next team leader too.”

“Who are you? Are you Gang Hana or something?”

I *am* Gang Hana, you know?! Do I have to argue about my identity even here?

I shouted to prevent the surrounding people from approaching, but instead, people gathered in twos and threes upon hearing the shout.

    ‘This isn’t good…’

Woojin’s face, displayed in the sky, still hadn’t disappeared, and people continued to surround Woojin and gather around.

I glanced back to check Woojin’s condition.

But what was right behind me was Woojin’s Adam’s apple.

‘That’s right. Woojin is much taller than me.’

I turned my head and looked up.

    I met Woojin’s eyes.

Wow, how can he be this handsome? Even looking up at him from close range, Woojin didn’t have an unflattering angle. At this point, isn’t he more like a sculpture of God than a human? They sculpted the Cha Woojin sculpture and created the world to show it off.

While I was taking advantage of the gap to admire him, the sculpture of God spoke to me.

“Let’s get out of here quickly…”

Woojin spoke almost in a whisper and bowed his head deeply.

I wondered why he didn’t have an unflattering angle, but it was because he was bowing his head.

When I thought about it, Woojin was much taller than me, so even if I hid him behind me, his face was still exposed.

Woojin placed his white, large, and beautiful hand on my shoulder.

Woojin’s hand, gripping my shoulder, trembled slightly.

Only then did I suddenly come to my senses.

Woojin was scared of this situation right now.

We have to get out of here.

I turned around and hugged Woojin.

    Woojin also hugged me obediently.

I lifted Woojin up as he was and used the strength in my leg muscles to jump up.

Thanks to my B-grade Enhancement-Type ability being activated, the people surrounding us looked so far away that they seemed like the size of my palm.

We returned to my room in an instant using this method.

    *

However, there was something I had overlooked.

Most of the people who know Woojin are people I know.

My Smartwatch, which had been vibrating like a low-frequency massager since we were surrounded by people, no longer turned on. It seemed the battery had run out.

But it should be fine since all of today’s official schedule is over.

I put the Smartwatch on the wireless charging cradle and brought Cha Wooreen with me.

Woojin was reluctant to go outside, so I went alone.

    “Why didn’t big brother come?”

Cha Wooreen asked in the elevator going up to my room.

“Is big brother sick again today? Why didn’t he come? Isn’t big brother home?”

I was worried she would cry again about big brother not being there today, so I bought her some snacks and went to pick her up, but it seems she’s already eaten them all.

She didn’t even properly answer my question about what she did at daycare because she was eating snacks in the car.

“No. Big brother is in the room today. He’s becoming famous, so it’s becoming difficult for him to pick you up.”

    “‘Famous’ is what?”

Cha Wooreen, holding the empty snack bag, ran over and grabbed my hand.

Whatever the case, Wooreen, who is so much like Woojin, is still cute.

As I was chatting with Cha Wooreen and returning to my room, someone was standing in front of my door.

    It’s Kim Sanghyuk again.

    “Oh, Hana! You’re here!”

Kim Sanghyuk waved his hand and greeted me enthusiastically.

    “What? Why are you here?”

“Why else~ There’s something good happening today! How can we just let a day like this pass by? Woojin is in the room, right? Open the door quickly!”

Perhaps because he lives next door, he always comes directly whenever an issue like this arises.

I opened the door and entered the room with Kim Sanghyuk and Cha Wooreen.

But today, there seemed to be more shoes in the entryway than usual.

“Hey, why are you so late?”

“Gang Hana, you’ve decorated your room a lot. You didn’t decorate it yourself, did you?”

“Hana, nice to see you again! Your room is charming and cute.”

The room that clearly only had Woojin in it had three more people.

“Park Haemi! Jo Seunghwan! Why do you guys always come in without knocking!”

Haemi and Seunghwan were in my room with Lee Hanse.

Teleportation Ability User, you’re so annoying. They don’t respect other people’s privacy. They always use their abilities to barge in. It’s even more annoying today because they brought a freeloader.

I asked Lee Hanse, hoping she would leave again.

“But Hanse, is it okay for you to be in the Esper Dormitory? I heard that Guides affiliated with the Research Center shouldn’t leave the Research Center recklessly.”

“It’s okay if I stick close to her. I got permission from the Research Center.”

“Thanks to our Haemi, we were able to come out like this~ She got permission because she can use Haemi’s ability to move directly from the Research Center building to the Dormitory building~ Today is the day Woojin became an officially famous person, so we have to celebrate.”

Park Haemi… doing such useless things.

Seunghwan said he came along to hang out as well.

With Kim Sanghyuk, Park Haemi, Jo Seunghwan, and Lee Hanse, four adults were in the studio apartment, making it very cramped.

They even bought a lot of alcohol for a celebration, making it even narrower.

Kim Sanghyuk, didn’t you drink so much yesterday? Do you want to drink again?

“Okay, everyone, sit down! This Kim Sanghyuk will make special snacks for you! Find a place and prepare the table for drinks.”

Thus, seven people gathered in the studio apartment and started a drinking party.

    *

The drinking table with six adults and one child gathered around was chaotic.

My table was for four people, so I pushed it to the corner, and it seemed even more chaotic because seven people were sitting close together at a small table.

In the midst of all that, I was scolded by Woojin for giving Cha Wooreen too many snacks, and Kim Sanghyuk butted in, backing up Woojin, being obnoxious.

If Woojin hadn’t been there, I would have punched Kim Sanghyuk in the jaw.

But the atmosphere of this gathering was good.

We are all Espers with more than 10 years of experience, so we welcomed the revival of the ‘field-specialized Guide’. Certainly, the survival rate of the field team was higher when a field-specialized Guide existed.

The person involved, Woojin, was taken aback, though.

Anyway, Woojin’s embarrassed face is also cute. I smiled and enjoyed the atmosphere. Since I can’t enjoy the feeling of being drunk, I should at least enjoy the atmosphere of the drinking party as much as possible.

My Adamantine Body/Invulnerable Physique ability, which ignores physical impact for the normal reaction of the given body, also prevents toxins from being absorbed.

So no matter how much I drink, I can’t get drunk.

I’ve never felt the sensation of being drunk, so I’m not disappointed, but it’s annoying to always be in charge of the cleanup.

As the atmosphere heated up, Jo Seunghwan said.

“Now, I’m tired of just drinking, so let’s play a game together. I brought Halli Galli.”

“Oh~ Jo Seunghwan! You have a good sense!”

“I want to play the game too!”

When Seunghwan took out the cards and table bell, Kim Sanghyuk and Cha Wooreen greeted him enthusiastically.

Indeed, Wooreen would have been very bored in a place where only adults were talking. It’s good to have something everyone can enjoy together.

    But there was a problem.

    “What’s Halli Galli?”

I don’t know what that game is.

“Huh? Hana, you haven’t played Halli Galli before?”

Kim Sanghyuk looked at me with an expression as if he was looking at an idiot. Why are you looking at me like that? I might not know.

Unlike the obnoxious Kim Sanghyuk, Woojin smiled like an angel and said.

“I’ll teach you, Hana. It’s not that difficult.”

    “That’s right, that’s right~ It’s a very simple game.”

But it was annoying that Lee Hanse was sticking to him like goldfish poop.

‘Why is she always sticking so close to Woojin?’

I couldn’t answer easily because of Lee Hanse, but Park Haemi intervened.

“That’s okay. Don’t just teach her, let her play. The game won’t be fun if she knows the rules.”

“That’s true. Just watch what other people are doing and follow along.”

Following Park Haemi, Jo Seunghwan also joined in. And Kim Sanghyuk didn’t miss out either.

“That’s right, that’s right! If Gang Hana gets properly involved, she’s an invasive species! Just play with a handicap. Be polite.”

No, but why do I only have friends like these? Are they actually betting on the side I’m losing on even in the Martial Arts Tournament?
