“What’s wrong, Woojin? Are you not feeling well somewhere?”

Woojin suddenly shouted, startling me. I was so surprised by Woojin that I didn’t even feel the heat of the cigarette ash on my palm.

Still, if the embers weren’t completely extinguished, a fire could start, so I rubbed my palm to make sure the cigarette ash was completely put out.

But Woojin didn’t seem to like my actions.

Woojin grabbed both of my hands and pulled me close.

“What are you doing?! Why are you putting your palm on a cigarette…!”

Woojin looked at my palm with a worried expression.

It’s clear that Woojin doesn’t know what my ability is.

Woojin pulled out a tissue from the table and wiped off the cigarette ash that was smeared on my palm.

Not only that, but he even blew on my palm, checking to see if I had any burns.

Even though I have Adamantine Body/Invulnerable Physique, so I don’t get burned.

But I liked that Woojin was worried about me. Seeing the worry for me in Woojin’s winter lake-like eyes made me feel strangely ecstatic.

Woojin is holding me, touching me, and worrying about me…

‘This is so good. I hope he does it again next time. If he doesn’t know what my ability is, he’ll do it again, right? I shouldn’t tell him what my ability is today either.’

I pretended that the cigarette was hot and exaggerated to Woojin.

Woojin was restless and blew on my palm, ‘Hoo~’.

While we were having a good time, Team Leader Kim interrupted.

“Stop being lovey-dovey and sit down! A guy who doesn’t even get hurt is acting all sensitive and exaggerated.”

Kim Hana took the ashtray and put out the cigarette she was smoking with two puffs. Then, she leaned back arrogantly on the back of the sofa.

“Our Cha Guide. How was this mission? I heard you caught a hooligan yourself?”

    “……”

Woojin stiffened at Team Leader Kim’s question.

Woojin, who was rolling his eyes around, barely answered Team Leader Kim’s question.

“…Yes. It wasn’t that I caught him, it was self-defense to survive.”

“Well, that’s true. But whatever the process, you’ll get credit for handling it yourself. The handling process wasn’t pretty to look at, but credit is credit, so it’s better for you not to be modest. You have to be good at the power struggle to be a ‘hooligan hunter’.”

“I don’t think it’s right to use the expression ‘hunting’ for people.”

Woojin said to Team Leader Kim in a clear voice.

It was completely different from his restless appearance just before.

Woojin’s determined appearance looked like a hero or prince in a fairy tale.

But Team Leader Kim laughed at Woojin.

Team Leader Kim made a deflating sound and mocked him.

“Well, you have a good character. You’ll have a lot of popular support. It’s a good virtue for the next team leader. But you know.”

Team Leader Kim hardened her expression and continued.

“A person can only be called a person when they are human. Just because the shell is similar doesn’t mean everyone is human. Did you really feel that the hooligans you met were human?”

    But Woojin answered without shaking.

“Yes. They are human. Even if they are ruthless murderers.”

    “……”

Team Leader Kim narrowed her eyes and looked at Woojin.

After pausing for a moment, she soon continued.

“Okay. You’re right. It’s good to have one or two guys like you.”

Team Leader Kim, who had been pressuring Woojin, suddenly burst into a hearty laugh and patted Woojin’s back.

‘Why is that old hag like that today?’

Team Leader Kim is originally a strange person, but today she seemed crazy. She was bothering people and cackling as if she was having fun. It’s really strange.

“You know that I’m thinking of raising you to the team leader level, right? Gang Hana must have told you, right?”

Team Leader Kim, who was having fun laughing by herself, now brought up confidential matters.

No, but why do you think I told Woojin about confidential matters? I did tell him, but still.

“…I’ve heard it vaguely, but I don’t know the details.”

“Hahaha! I knew it! He’s a guy who never deviates from my expectations.”

Team Leader Kim pinched my cheek while laughing so hard.

‘Why is she like that from earlier? She must be crazy, really.’

Since she’s a Team Leader bully, I couldn’t bring myself to take her hand off my cheek, so I leaned back.

Whether I did that or not, Team Leader Kim continued talking to Woojin.

“She’s blindly devoted to certain people, so she’ll know what you need and bring it to you. You just have to follow what this kid gives you. I can’t tell you the details yet, but if you follow what this kid tells you to do, you’ll know everything.”

Team Leader Kim was talking to Woojin while tapping my head with her palm.

Then, she looked at me and said.

“You don’t have any plans in the afternoon, do you?”

“I have to pick up Cha Wooreen in the afternoon. I also have to prepare for class the next day and do some personal training.”

“Okay, you’re free in the afternoon, so do some work that I’ll give you then.”

I answered that I was using my afternoon time well, but I was speechless at Team Leader Kim’s tyranny of giving me work, saying that I was free.

Of course, Team Leader Kim didn’t care whether I was shocked or not.

She was just telling us to leave now that she was done talking.

I was about to get up to go out to Headquarters when Team Leader Kim grabbed Woojin’s shoulder.

“Sometimes, it’s better for your own sake not to treat them like people. Something that’s too hard is easy to break.”

Team Leader Kim whispered unpleasantly to Woojin, and then gestured for him to leave, as if she had really finished saying everything she wanted to say.

I was finally able to go to the ‘Special Education for High-Risk Espers’.

    *

“Teacher! Why are you so late!”

    “Hello, Guide.”

“Senior, did you already send all our data to the Research Center? They keep asking me questions and experimenting on me! Why did you do that!”

I spent a chaotic morning and finally entered Room 172 of the Research Center – Building A, but it was just as chaotic here.

‘Or is it? Team Leader Kim’s influence is much stronger, so it seems like Team Leader Kim won.’

I just did what I was given to do.

‘Since the kids went on a mission the day before yesterday, I have to evaluate their activities on the mission and train them as usual.’

Jang Hana seemed to have been quite harassed by the researchers for learning a new way to use her ability on the mission. She hated the mission story.

Even though Jang Hana hated it, I did my job diligently.

I taught the kids how to search quickly and accurately, and had them do physical training as usual.

Now that the kids have learned how to do it on their own to some extent, I had to focus on Woojin.

Team Leader Kim called me out today with the intention of pressuring me to educate him quickly.

Still, Woojin’s physical strength has increased a lot, and he can now do 20 sit-ups at once.

He’s still far short of the standard that Team Leader Kim is asking for, but considering that he couldn’t even walk properly at first, it’s a great improvement.

I was so proud of Woojin that I kept praising him and wiping the sweat off his forehead.

I was enjoying Woojin’s cute appearance as he blushed and felt embarrassed when the atmosphere around me was strange.

When I turned my head, the kids weren’t doing the training I told them to do, and they were looking at us.

The kids who made eye contact with me said one word each.

“Looks like you guys made a lot of progress yesterday.”

    “I heard you live together, it’s totally a honeymoon~”

“Aren’t you going to have another family member like that?”

    “They’re both guys, though?”

“Tell them to adopt or do whatever they want.”

I underestimated the kids. It wasn’t just one word. They already have Cha Wooreen, so what are they bringing in again?

“Stop playing around and train. Go to the track and do a long-distance run.”

I chased the kids away as if I was chasing away birds. Woojin is shy, so he’s embarrassed by things like this.

Of course, they know that, so they came to tease him.

As expected, Woojin’s face turned bright red like a ripe plum. He was too embarrassed to make eye contact, but even his ears turned red, which was very cute.

‘Hehehe. I’m the only one who should see this. I don’t plan to share it with anyone else.’

I tried to laugh without making a sound while massaging Woojin’s shoulders.

“It’s just what the kids are saying. Please understand that they’re being mischievous, Woojin. There’s no marriage registration, so what honeymoon~ right? We’re just getting along well, that’s all.”

I comforted him appropriately while gently touching Woojin’s earlobes with my fingers that were massaging his shoulders. Woojin shrugged, telling me not to do it so quietly. His ears were more red than before.

Woojin is so cute. It’s so cute that he turns red even if I just tease him and touch him a little. I wonder what would happen if I touched other places if he reacts like that just by touching his ears.

‘There are kids here and security cameras are running, so I have to be patient, right?’

I promised myself for the next time and watched Woojin’s training.

    *

Around the end of training, I received a call from the Central Center.

It was a message telling me to come to the Mobility Department of the Ability Improvement Research Institute at the Central Research Center at 1 p.m.
