Oh My Hero – Episode 43

    43. Hooligan (7)

Because that tactless Jang Hana kept following me, I tried to get away as quickly as possible and roughly wiped my body.

After roughly wrapping the dirty, smelly rags around my body and face, I had time to look around.

Only then did I raise my head and look around.

In front of me, frightened people were huddled together, trembling.

I didn’t interrogate them separately, but I knew who these people were. These people were probably the Guides of this Hooligan hideout.

Since the place I’m in now is the hideout building that was half-destroyed by the monster, my guess is probably correct.

The general public, the production workforce, were made to set up tents outside while they were being massacred, so if there were people safely inside the building, they would be the Hooligan’s Guides.

Suddenly, the monster destroyed the building, and I rushed in and took all the rags, so everyone seems to be frightened.

Well, I did ruin other people’s livelihoods, but everyone will go to the Association and be provided with better and cleaner things. I wasn’t sorry.

Having finished assessing the situation, I called the life rescue team and the monster debris disposal team using Jang Hana’s Smartwatch.

    *

Fortunately, Kim Sanghyuk, who belongs to the life rescue team, wasn’t visible.

Well, I left Wooreen in his care, so he must be taking a break for this one. This isn’t an urgent mission either, and the team wouldn’t pressure Kim Sanghyuk for taking a break.

I adjusted the rags that were about to fall down and watched the people coming to work.

Because my appearance is a mess right now, I’m keeping my distance from Woojin.

I wanted to quickly hand over the work to these people and go get myself into a presentable state.

‘Why are these people dawdling so much when they came comfortably with the Teleportation Ability Users?’

I grumbled inwardly and waited for the situation to be ready for my return.

I saw Woojin trying to find me amidst the suddenly increased number of people, but because my speed of figuring out Woojin’s location was much faster than Woojin finding me, I skillfully avoided Woojin and hid among the people.

My heart is eager to have a friendly conversation with Woojin since my work is almost finished, but I don’t want to be seen right after being soaked in monster fluids.

I was still taking refuge among the people to avoid Woojin who was looking for me, when someone suddenly grabbed my shoulder.

When I turned my head, Kim Sanghyuk was looking down at me.

“Oh~ Gang Hana, you’re in the smelliest and dirtiest state as always.”

Why is this bastard here again?

“What, Kim Sanghyuk? Why are you here? What about Cha Wooreen?”

“Our little friend came with me. How can I leave a kid alone? Anyway, they said the monster is dead and the Hooligans are dead, so there’s nothing dangerous.”

“Didn’t you think that another monster could invade? Aren’t you completely crazy? You know that there are many unexpected situations on site, what are you doing! You came with the kid, where did he go?”

“With so many people here, what big-hearted monster would come? Our little friend would be here, next to me. Huh? He’s not here?”

While Kim Sanghyuk was talking nonsense, Cha Wooreen was seen running to find Woojin from behind him.

Really, nothing is working out in many ways.

Woojin looked very unhappy right now.

It’s all because of Kim Sanghyuk.

I left him in charge of protecting the kid in a safe place, but he brought him to the scene where a fierce battle with Hooligans and monsters had just taken place.

‘I left after a tearful farewell in the morning, but he brought him to such a dangerous place, how absurd must it be. I understand it too.’

Cha Wooreen, hugged by Woojin, said in a sad voice.

“Playing with that Mister is no fun. He won’t let me eat snacks either.”

“Wooreen, that’s not true. It might be no fun to play with Mister. Huh? That’s understandable. But Mister did let you eat snacks, right?”

“He told me to eat them outside, sob. He told me to eat them outside, sob. So I ate them outside…….”

Cha Wooreen finished speaking while sobbing and then cried loudly.

From what I heard, Kim Sanghyuk told Cha Wooreen to eat snacks outside if he was going to eat them, left the kid alone outside the front door, and only let him in after he finished eating all the snacks.

‘Well, Kim Sanghyuk is a neat freak, unlike his appearance.’

Kim Sanghyuk only drinks liquids in the room and cleans twice a day.

‘Cha Wooreen does spill a lot of snack crumbs.’

I could somewhat understand why Kim Sanghyuk made him eat snacks outside.

However, Cha Wooreen seemed to be upset by Kim Sanghyuk’s actions and cried a lot.

Woojin just hugged and comforted the wailing Cha Wooreen.

Woojin’s eyes looking at Kim Sanghyuk showed that he had a lot to say to Kim Sanghyuk, but Woojin didn’t say anything to Kim Sanghyuk and just comforted Cha Wooreen.

Then Woojin sighed and said to us.

“Let’s move to another place first.”

Woojin moved to a less crowded place, seemingly bothered by the people passing by who were peeking in after hearing the child’s crying.

After moving to another place, Woojin looked straight at Kim Sanghyuk and said in his unique low voice and calm tone.

“Thank you for taking care of my younger sibling. I’m sure it was very uncomfortable, but I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

    “…….”

Although I’m not used to indirect speech, I immediately realized that Woojin was cursing at us at that moment.

To say that to an hopeless bastard who can’t even take care of a child properly in such an elegant way, was honestly kind of cool.

    *

Kim Sanghyuk, like most physical Enhancement-Type Espers, was quite tall.

At a whopping 188 centimeters, there are few people with eye level to match.

And Woojin is one of the people with similar eye level as Kim Sanghyuk.

Kim Sanghyuk seemed flustered when an overwhelmingly handsome man got angry in front of him.

Perhaps that’s why Kim Sanghyuk was flustered with Woojin, unlike usual.

“Ah, that’s…… um, Woojin, I’m sorry. It’s not that I was being harsh to the kid~”

Sanghyuk made pathetic excuses, but Woojin turned his back on Kim Sanghyuk and strode away. Kim Sanghyuk stuck to Woojin, who was just holding and comforting the child, like a dog needing to pee.

It was a perfect situation to make fun of Kim Sanghyuk in that state, but for some reason, the thought of getting that bastard away from Woojin came to mind before the thought of teasing Kim Sanghyuk.

The reason is nothing special, I just felt bad that Kim Sanghyuk was sticking to Woojin.

It’s not a big deal to get in between them and get rid of Kim Sanghyuk, but I couldn’t get involved because of my appearance.

After all, it’s a bit much to go near Woojin while reeking of monster fluids and the smell of rotting rags. That’s why I was avoiding Woojin.

For this reason, I couldn’t chase Kim Sanghyuk away and had to stand there.

Woojin, holding a six-year-old child, seemed to be having a hard time walking any further, and he couldn’t get any further away from Kim Sanghyuk, so he put down Cha Wooreen.

Kim Sanghyuk, perhaps trying to turn Woojin’s attention, approached me and put his arm around my shoulder.

I didn’t like Kim Sanghyuk’s actions, but since Kim Sanghyuk voluntarily moved away from Woojin, I left him to do what he was doing.

“But Woojin, please consider it. I’m a little sorry to the child, but isn’t this all because our Espers are working hard to create a safer world~ Hahaha!”

Kim Sanghyuk, whether he knew that I was letting him off the hook or not, made unwelcome physical contact and spewed nonsense at Woojin again.

“Woojin also saw it on site, but you have to understand~ How hard is it for us? We have to deal with Hooligans and monsters~ You can’t expect delicacy from us~ Everyone lives hard, so we don’t have that. Look, a elite Esper from our branch ended up like this because of a monster.”

While Kim Sanghyuk was talking nonsense, he took off the rags I was wearing on my face.

Because of that, my bare face was revealed momentarily.

    ‘Kim Sanghyuk, you bastard.’

There is a reason why I covered my face.

My ability is that my body is not damaged by all the physical impacts of the world, also known as Adamantine Body, but there are exceptions to the parts where the ability does not work.

Keratin layers such as hair, fingernails, and toenails are not affected by the ability.

So it is possible to get a haircut or trim fingernails, but there are inconveniences.

On days like today, when I get covered in the intensely acidic monster fluid, they all melt.

So my face right now is very ugly, with no hair or eyebrows.

Normally, I wouldn’t care if others saw it or not, but I didn’t want to show Woojin this ugly appearance.

I quickly put the rags that Kim Sanghyuk had taken off back on.

But in the fleeting moment when the rags were taken off, I saw Woojin and Cha Wooreen’s eyes widening.

Judging by their reaction, they both saw my bare face.

But I had no intention of continuing to show this appearance.

I covered my face with the rags, slammed Kim Sanghyuk, who was next to me, and ran away from the spot.

I’m usually the type to retaliate immediately in this kind of situation, but it’s more important not to show Woojin my ugly face, so I’ll postpone it until later.

    ‘Consider yourself lucky, Kim Sanghyuk.’
