IM Chapter 53
by VolareThe Shang family.
“Brother, you’ve been so focused on the baby lately that you’re ignoring me,” Shang Jue complained pitifully to Shen ChiTai.
“I’ll go make some milk for the baby first,” Shen ChiTai said, preparing to get up.
“I’ll do it,” Shang Jue quickly offered.
“…”
“Then I’ll change the baby’s diaper first,” Shang Jue volunteered again.
“Let me handle the diaper change; you should let your brother rest properly. It’s best if you go take a shower and then wait for me obediently in bed,” Shang Jue said with a grin.
“You rascal, go quickly,” Shen ChiTai said with a smile and a scold, knowing that this guy had ulterior motives.
Shang Jue was already quite skilled at changing diapers.
Shen ChiTai returned to the room, sat on the bed, and put down his phone. The alpha returned in a flash.
Shang Jue squeezed in next to him, taking up so much space that Shen ChiTai subtly shifted away.
“Brother, if you had to choose between me and that Xu guy, who would you pick?”
“Why are you suddenly asking this? Are you afraid we’ll rekindle our old flame?” Shen ChiTai looked at him, amused.
“I know you won’t, but you gave him our house key today,” Shang Jue said aggrievedly.
“Giving him the key was Dad’s idea.”
Shen ChiTai explained to him.
“Dad? Seriously, picking up the big one after picking up the small one. Anyone would think our family is a garbage dump,” Shang Jue muttered under his breath.
Shen ChiTai said with a serious expression, “Xu Chen is older than you, so you have to call him ‘Brother’ respectfully from now on. Don’t make Dad feel awkward.”
“No, I only have one brother,” the alpha said stubbornly, like a child.
Shen ChiTai gently pressed his fingertip between his eyebrows and pushed him back a little, “Silly, you have a child of your own and you’re still acting like a kid.”
Shang Jue took the opportunity to grab his hand and lightly touched it to his lips, “Brother, let me take care of you from now on.”
An invisible web of countless threads seemed to connect and entwine their gazes, each subtle movement of Shang Jue drawing on Omega’s burning and gentle gaze.
“A Jue, let’s have another baby,” Shen ChiTai said unexpectedly.
“No way,” Shang Jue refused without even thinking.
“But I want one,” Shen ChiTai rarely wheedled with him, and Shang Jue couldn’t resist that look. However, on this one matter, he had his own insistence.
“No.”
“A Jue…” Shen ChiTai took the initiative to hug his waist, continuing to act spoiled.
“Acting spoiled won’t work. I’m not falling for it, Brother,” Shang Jue said, pretending to be stern.
“Have another one, or Xinglan will be so lonely,” Shen ChiTai tried to persuade him, even though he knew it was unlikely.
“How could he be lonely? There are still two kids from the Zhou family. Three people together is too crowded.” Shang Jue snorted, implying something.
Shen ChiTai couldn’t help but laugh, “Why do I hear a hint of jealousy in your words?”
“It’s good that you know,” Shang Jue raised an eyebrow proudly.
“…”
Shen ChiTai couldn’t reason with him. He backed away from the alpha’s embrace and walked a few steps in silence, suddenly stopping and turning to beckon the puppy. “A Jue, come here.”
“Brother,” Shang Jue obediently walked over.
“We haven’t done it in a long time. Since we had the baby, you haven’t touched me. Are you disgusted with me?” the omega asked with a wronged look in his eyes.
Shang Jue was afraid he would misunderstand and quickly explained, “I’m just afraid of hurting the baby, not disgusted with you. How could I be disgusted with you, Brother?”
“Then tonight… will you do it with me?” Shen ChiTai asked tentatively in a low voice.
“…Brother, you know the answer.” Shang Jue paused, seeming hesitant, “But now is not the time. Your health is the most important thing.”
Shen ChiTai’s heart warmed into a ball of cotton, and he reached out his hands and hugged his neck.
Shang Jue had only said those words to see what his brother thought. He was eager to stick to his brother in bed every day, not wanting to be separated for even a moment, but the omega’s body was the most important thing.
The alpha suddenly said, “We haven’t even been on a date yet, Brother. I don’t have work tomorrow, so let’s go on a date.”
“We have a kid already and you still want to go on a date? It’s so embarrassing.”
“Who says you can’t go on dates after having a kid? Not only will we go on dates, but we’ll also get married. I want to marry you, Brother,” Shang Jue said with an extremely firm tone.
“If we get married, people will gossip. Besides, marriage isn’t a small matter, it can’t just be done with words.”
“I know, but I just want to give you and the baby a legitimate status. We’re not biological brothers anyway. What outsiders say and think is none of our business.” Shang Jue tightened his arms, trapping the omega’s body, and looked down into his eyes, his attitude extremely sincere. “Brother, marry me.”
“What if I don’t agree?” Shen ChiTai teased him intentionally.
Shang Jue leaned down and bit his earlobe, mischievously using his teeth, “There’s plenty of time tonight, I’ll make you agree.”
“Rogue,” Shen ChiTai said in a low voice, scolding him with a blush.
“Don’t block me, I want to see your face, Brother,” Shang Jue gently moved Shen ChiTai’s hand away.
“This is so embarrassing,” Shen ChiTai’s face was so red that it was almost dripping blood.
“Your skin has gotten thinner since we had the baby, Brother,” Shang Jue said with a smile.
“It’s clearly your skin that’s gotten thicker.”
“Brother, you haven’t agreed to me yet.”
“You know what I mean, yet you’re still pushing it.”
“Oh right, I have something to give you, Brother,” Shang Jue suddenly remembered something and took out a small box from his pocket.
“A ring? When did you prepare this?” Shen ChiTai looked at him in surprise.
“I prepared it a long time ago, but I just couldn’t find the right moment,” Shang Jue said with a smile.
“You’re wearing the ring on the wrong hand,” Shen ChiTai said, looking at the ring on his own hand.
“That’s right, that side is reserved for when we get married,” Shang Jue said smugly.
“…” It felt like a dog marking its territory, but having to do it several times, which was inexplicably funny.
“You’re not allowed to take it off. I’m going to fill your hand with them all, so no wild men dare to think about you,” Shang Jue grabbed his hand and poked the back of it forcefully several times.
“…You’re so childish,” Shen ChiTai smiled helplessly.
“I’m childish, and I like it,” Shang Jue said with a proud look, taking it as a badge of honor.
Shen ChiTai looked down at the diamond ring on his hand and chuckled softly.
In the middle of the night, the baby woke up crying twice, and Shang Jue got up to check on him. Since they had the baby, the alpha’s sleep had become much lighter, and he would wake up at the slightest movement. Occasionally, so as not to disturb Shen ChiTai’s sleep, he would sleep in the next room or the living room.
During the day, Shen ChiTai sat down to coax the baby, looking at Shang Jue next to him, who was still sleepy and clearly hadn’t slept well, and felt extremely sorry for him.
He asked Shang Jue to go back to the room and rest for a while, but the man refused. Seeing the other’s smug look, the omega was about to say something when suddenly they heard someone knocking on the door.
“I’ll go see,” Shang Jue got up to open the door.
Shen ChiTai straightened his slightly disheveled clothes and looked up to see Yu Xingqiao walking in ahead of Shang Jue.
“Xingqiao.”
“ChiTai, I haven’t seen you for thirty-six hours, I’ve really missed you,” Yu Xingqiao’s body language was a bit exaggerated. He had originally planned to give him a loving bear hug, but Shang Jue grabbed him by the back of the collar and forcibly dragged him back, tossing him aside.
“…” Shen ChiTai was a bit amused and helpless.
“Are you okay?” the omega asked Yu Xingqiao apologetically.
Yu Xingqiao glared at Shang Jue and became much more obedient, “Don’t even mention it, I was so bored I was about to die. You don’t know how tightly he’s been watching me. I finally found a chance to sneak out for some fresh air.” As he spoke, he approached the cradle and teased Shen Xinglan inside.
“As expected of you, this child looks just like you. He’ll definitely be a gentle and cute omega in the future.”
“I don’t really care. No matter what he differentiates into, he’s still my child,” Shen ChiTai looked at the baby gently. Shen Xinglan actually had a bit of Shang Jue’s shadow from when he was a child.
“It’s better if he looks like me. I don’t want him to have my brother’s shadow,” Shang Jue said sourly.
Yu Xingqiao opened his mouth in surprise and exchanged a look with Shen ChiTai.
Shen ChiTai’s ears burned, and he sighed helplessly, “Don’t pay attention to him, he’s just like that.”
The corners of Yu Xingqiao’s mouth twitched madly, and he couldn’t help but pinch the baby’s pink and tender face, liking him immensely.
Shen ChiTai was about to say something when another doorbell rang.
Shang Jue’s eyes darkened.
“It must be Zhou ChiRui, it never ends. As soon as I leave, he follows,” Yu Xingqiao complained, raising his voice.
Shang Jue impatiently walked over and opened the door.
Zhou ChiRui stood by the door, and Shang Jue stared at him, saying unhappily, “You’re here to see Xingqiao, right? He told me to tell you that he’s not here.”
Yu Xingqiao’s hand, which was teasing the baby, paused slightly. He wished he could strangle this brat.
Shen ChiTai lowered his eyes, looking like he was thinking hard about a problem. He didn’t talk much anyway, and now he didn’t want to get involved in this matter.
As soon as Zhou ChiRui entered the living room, he saw Yu Xingqiao staring at him unhappily.
“Xingqiao, why didn’t you tell me when you were leaving?” Zhou ChiRui said aggrievedly.
Yu Xingqiao shouted back directly, raising his voice, “It’s my freedom to go wherever I want, you mind your own business.”
“I’m just worried about you. You said last night…” Zhou ChiRui hadn’t finished speaking.
“Cough cough cough…” Yu Xingqiao coughed violently several times. This didn’t seem to be part of the plan they had discussed beforehand. “I caught a bit of a cold last night, just a little cough. But don’t worry, it’s not contagious.”
Shang Jue rolled his eyes at them, “You guys are here to freeload, right?”
Yu Xingqiao looked at him with an expression that said, “Is it that obvious?”
Shen ChiTai’s gaze fell on the bag in Zhou ChiRui’s hand, “If you’re here, you’re here. You didn’t need to buy groceries, we have everything at home.”
“…”
“My wife likes to eat these vegetables. You might not have them here,” Zhou ChiRui said, lifting the vegetables in his hand.
Yu Xingqiao gave an awkward dry laugh, “Actually, it’s because it’s just the two of us at home lately, and it’s not lively eating alone, so we wanted to join you guys for a meal.”
Shang Jue wasn’t happy.
These two were clearly prepared. It was rare that it was just him and his brother at home these past few days. He had been looking forward to this alone time for so long, and these two had ruined it all.
