IM Chapter 36
by VolareHe Yi was still relentless, “Don’t tell me you’re busy. No matter how busy you are, you can’t be busy all day, right? Besides, if you stick to your brother all day long, he’ll get tired of you. You can’t forget your friends when you see someone you like. What’s with you guys, being like this to me lately? I’m heartbroken, bro.”
“Heartbroken then, so be it. If there’s nothing important, I’m hanging up. Goodbye.” Before the words even finished, someone ruthlessly hung up the phone first.
This person must be here to jinx me.
He continued to whisk the eggs.
Shen ChiTai had just woken up, groggily came downstairs, and stretched at the kitchen doorway. Hearing movement in the kitchen, he walked to the door and saw Shang Jue holding a bowl, preparing to pour out the eggs inside.
The omega looked at the person who had been busy for half a day but made no progress with a complicated expression. He walked over, looked at the contents of the trash can, and asked, “How many eggs did you crack?”
Shang Jue’s face looked a little embarrassed, and he mumbled softly without confidence, “Five or six, maybe.” He paused, and then said, “I dropped some shell fragments in there, so I just poured it all out.”
“…” Shen ChiTai’s heart shattered into pieces like an egg. Afraid of sounding too harsh, he tried to control his tone and said softly, “You can just pick out the shell fragments.”
After all, it was someone who insisted on making breakfast, and his heart was in the right place. Shen ChiTai saw his confident and determined look and didn’t want to say much. He was afraid that pouring cold water would dampen his enthusiasm.
There wasn’t much enthusiasm to begin with, and if it was dampened further, it might really disappear.
Shang Jue looked dejected and lowered his head, “…Brother, am I very stupid?”
Shen ChiTai gently touched his head and gave an ineffective comforting, “No, you’re just too pure.”
The omega took the chopsticks from his hand, picked out the shell fragments mixed in the egg liquid, and fried two eggs, placing them on top of the noodles. The two sat down facing each other, Shang Jue took a sip of milk and saw that Shen ChiTai was quietly eating his noodles without saying a word.
He had just picked up his chopsticks and stirred the noodles in his bowl when an unexpected fried egg appeared in his bowl.
Shang Jue looked up at the omega across from him and asked, “Brother, aren’t you eating?”
Shen ChiTai shook his head gently, “I don’t seem to have much of an appetite, you eat it.”
“Is brother feeling unwell?” Shang Jue was a little worried.
Shen ChiTai pursed his lower lip. He couldn’t describe the feeling in his stomach, but he just felt uncomfortable. He should be fine.
“Brother.” Shang Jue looked at him worriedly.
“Eat quickly, you’ll be late for school.” The omega squeezed out a smile on his face and, to reassure him, tried to eat a few more mouthfuls.
Seeing this, Shang Jue’s heart relaxed slightly.
After breakfast, Shen ChiTai prepared to go to the pet hospital first.
One of the cats in the store had recently contracted a skin disease. Yesterday, he sent the cat to the Elbe Hospital, not far from the cat cafe. The doctor told him to go back today to check on the cat’s condition. If possible, he could take the cat back to the cat cafe to slowly recover.
Shang Jue personally sent Shen ChiTai to the entrance of the pet hospital, repeatedly reminding him before leaving, “I’ll wait for you for lunch, brother.”
Shen ChiTai frowned slightly, looking at him, “It takes over forty minutes to get here from the company, why waste so much time?”
Shang Jue grabbed the omega’s hand. He didn’t need to do anything, just act spoiled.
“I probably won’t need to go to the company this afternoon. Brother, you’re not allowed to refuse me.”
Shen ChiTai smiled helplessly, “Immature and overbearing, I don’t know who spoiled you.”
Shang Jue grinned, “Brother allows it. Then it’s settled, I’ll pick you up for lunch.”
“Okay, go quickly.”
The omega didn’t hold him back. Before Shang Jue left, he even stole a kiss, and then ran away before his brother’s foot could land on his butt.
Shen ChiTai first went to the hospital to check on the cat’s condition before going to the store and locking the cat cafe at noon. He stood at the door and sent a message to Shang Jue, who replied almost instantly, saying he was on his way and would be there in two minutes.
Shen ChiTai had just put away his phone when he looked up and bumped into Xu Chen, who got out of a car by the side of the road. The beta looked anxious and headed straight for him.
The omega’s eyes were a little dazed.
In a flash, Xu Chen stood in front of him, calling out with a hint of drunkenness in his eyes, “Senior.”
Shen ChiTai smelled the scent on him and couldn’t help but frown, his eyes sweeping across his face, “Didn’t I tell you not to come looking for me? You drove after drinking?”
“I only drank a little, it’s okay.” He suddenly stepped forward and hugged Shen ChiTai tightly. In his slightly trembling chest, there was a hint of heartbreaking sobbing, “Senior, I really miss you so much. I just can’t forget you, I really can’t.”
Shen ChiTai pushed him away forcefully, “Let me go first.” His waist hurt from the squeeze.
Xu Chen hugged him even tighter, “No, if I let go, I’ll never be able to touch you again.”
Shen ChiTai was a little angry, and remembering Xu RuZhou coming out of Shang Lü’s room before, his eyes narrowed, “Xu Chen, don’t act drunk here, I don’t like it.” He hit the beta’s shoulder, signaling him to let go quickly, what would others think if they saw this.
Xu Chen’s eyes flickered, he suddenly moved closer to Shen ChiTai’s neck, sniffed around his glands, and his face changed drastically, “The glands are broken, Senior has been marked. Who is it? Tell me, who marked you, is it someone I know, or is it Shang Jue?”
Shen ChiTai was shaken a few times, and his stomach felt a little uncomfortable. But upon hearing Shang Jue’s name, his face changed as expected.
Xu Chen looked at the omega in front of him in disbelief, then a mocking laugh escaped from his throat, he let go of him and took half a step back, “When I was with Senior, holding hands was a great encouragement and honor for me. Every time after holding hands, I could secretly be happy for a long time. But now I’m like a clown, jumping around in other people’s worlds, making everyone laugh their heads off.”
Speaking of which, it was indeed him who was the first to let Xu Chen down. Shen ChiTai looked guilty, “Xu Chen, you deserve someone better to love you, that person shouldn’t be me.” Someone like him who had selfish motives, didn’t deserve someone else’s wholehearted cherishing.
Xu Chen’s emotions suddenly became agitated. The fists clenched tightly at his sides seemed to suppress some emotion, and a low laugh came from deep in his throat, the voice was not loud, with obvious self-deprecation and bitterness.
“But I don’t want anything better, I just want you. After all these years, don’t you understand my feelings? I always thought that if we stayed together, sooner or later you would understand my feelings. So I was never in a hurry, I always waited for you, waiting for you to figure it out, waiting for you to be willing to accept me, waiting for you to say you were willing to marry me, I always waited, I was like a fucking idiot waiting.” As he spoke, the beta’s eyes turned red, “Senior, you have such a cruel heart.”
