SCWP Chapter 3

Mission in progress…
A system that disappears without a trace, a story line that’s only half there? Is this what they call quick transmigration? Interesting.
Lin Qichi, after sorting out the memories he received, didn’t know what to say. “Exploitation, this is definitely exploitation. Not giving me the full scope of the job, and the promised assistance is being lazy and passive. Really…the future looks bleak.”
The system told him to reduce the extremism meter of the mission target—the villain. Apart from the complete memories of the host, the compressed file only contained half of the storyline, while the other half was nowhere to be found.
Besides that, there was only the “Extremism Meter” that the system had thrown at him during the memory reception, which looked like an ordinary ring that Lin Qichi casually put on his left middle finger.
Everything seemed simple enough, except for the fact that his host’s identity was Lin Qichi, a friend of the villain’s mother. Yes, the same name, Lin Qichi. An insignificant character, whose only characteristic might be that he was particularly rich and particularly doted on the villain, to the point of spoiling him rotten?
“I feel like there’s a lot of gossip here. Speaking of which, what exactly is the villain?” Lin Qichi observed the room, sorting out his relationships with those related to his current identity.
After wandering around the house a few more times, familiarizing himself with the work of the host, he decided to go and see the mission target first. Qi Feiyu, that sounded like an obedient name, hopefully he would be an obedient person as well.
Lin Qichi instructed the servants to make extra food tonight, rearrange Qi Feiyu’s room, and clean the room next to the bedroom. After arranging everything, he called the driver to go to Qi Feiyu’s school to take a look.
Qi Feiyu, as the president of the student council, also served as the president of the school’s volunteer association, plus he was a senior, so he was usually very busy. So much so that when he received Lin Qichi’s call, he was still at the student council’s new member meeting and the sports day deployment meeting. In short, he was pathetically busy.
“Aren’t you really tired? So much work.” Lin Qichi, who firmly resisted overtime and a seven-day work week, expressed deep sympathy for this.
When Lin Qichi went to find him, it happened to be at the end of the meeting. The sky was dim, a ray of the setting sun was hanging on the branches of the trees, and a large crowd of people poured out, which was quite spectacular.
Lin Qichi hid in the roadside green belt and sent a message to Qi Feiyu.
Lin Qichi: [Little Fish, turn around]
Before Lin Qichi received a reply, he heard a girl’s voice suddenly approaching, “Senior, are you waiting for someone?”
“No.” Lin Qichi’s tone was indifferent, not intentionally, but a habit he had developed, too lazy to bother with any superficial pleasantries with anyone. What surprised him was that when this girl came to talk to him, the previously silent “Extremism Meter” suddenly sent a message: This person is the female protagonist, En Sihan.
Lin Qichi had a very clear division of this new world in his mind, since it wasn’t the mission target, then she was an irrelevant person.
“Uncle Lin.” En Sihan looked like she wanted to continue the conversation, but Qi Feiyu had already come over, taking the lead to stand between the two of them.
Lin Qichi observed the mission target in front of him, and putting everything else aside, he looked pretty good. His facial features were three-dimensional and handsome, and he also had a pair of captivating peach blossom eyes. He had a pitiful appearance of being overworked, which was especially endearing. Perhaps the host favored him because he was hooked by his poor, exhausted appearance.
Lin Qichi nodded at him with pity, seeing that Qi Feiyu still looked depressed, but was trying his best to hold on and carry his laptop bag.
He seemed surprised and happy about Uncle Lin’s sudden visit, like a pitiful puppy waiting to be petted and patted on the head.
Lin Qichi thought to himself: This host is really something, but isn’t the mission target blackening and becoming extremist because he’s exhausted? He’s clearly just a poor thing being doubly exploited by work and school.
Lin Qichi politely said to En Sihan, who had suddenly become reserved since Qi Feiyu arrived, “Sorry, we have to go now.”
En Sihan: “Oh, okay, okay.”
“Let’s go.” Lin Qichi casually ruffled Qi Feiyu’s hair, grabbed the laptop bag from his hand with the other, and led him away. Seeing his miserable appearance, it was really hard not to feel soft-hearted.
Lin Qichi brought him into the car, instructed the driver to go home, and then ignored everything else. Qi Feiyu could only open his mouth first, “Uncle Lin, why did you suddenly come?” He didn’t seem to mind Lin Qichi’s actions just now.
Lin Qichi followed his heart and said things bluntly and irresponsibly, “I wanted to see you.”
He wanted to see him, so he came directly. Qi Feiyu couldn’t help but ponder this sentence in his heart, but his already overworked brain, after finally getting a bit of free time, began to crash. The temperature in the car was comfortable, and the speed was so stable that it made him drowsy.
Before Qi Feiyu could figure out what it meant, he couldn’t resist the drowsiness and closed his eyes, his consciousness becoming blurred.
“Drive around a few more times first.” Lin Qichi said softly.
The driver, hearing that the employer was keeping his voice down, simply didn’t answer, his actions speaking louder than words as he drove around a few more times.
Considering that it wasn’t safe to go up the mountain too late, yes, Lin Qichi’s villa was built on a mountain. The driver estimated that the time was almost up, glanced back, and upon receiving Lin Qichi’s confirming nod, turned back to the original route and went home.
“Little Fish, wake up.” Lin Qichi patted Qi Feiyu’s cheek, not wanting to use too much force, considering how exhausted he was, and as expected, he didn’t wake up. But because of those extra rounds on the road, he slept even more soundly.
Lin Qichi looked at Qi Feiyu for a moment, thinking that he looked quite light. Thinking of how pitifully overworked he was today, and based on the mutual sympathy and love between wage slaves, Lin Qichi picked him up horizontally, saving him from the fate of sleeping in the car all night or being rudely woken up.
“Just put the food there first, and make another serving when he wakes up.” Lin Qichi gave the order, then carried him directly back to the bedroom.
The host’s room was nice, but after all, it wasn’t his own, and there were bound to be some misgivings about sleeping there. He would just stuff Qi Feiyu in there and choose a new room for himself.
Thinking that Qi Feiyu probably wouldn’t sleep for too long, Lin Qichi went downstairs to eat first, and also to understand his recent work. The bad thing about having a lot of money was that you never knew when you would start getting busy. Even if there was a work schedule, it was rarely followed.
Ten o’clock in the evening was an awkward time, often the end of serious business and the beginning of a new wave of things. It was a time when you had just started to relax and had to prepare to start again.
Lin Qichi played with his phone for the first time in a long time. Although he could also play with his phone in the Infinite Flow World, it only had the initial use of a phone, and the entertainment aspects had degenerated to the point where it made those who saw it sad and those who heard it cry.
“So, all the recent work has been resolved, and there’s nothing that needs to be done in person.” Lin Qichi was even more satisfied with this host’s choice. Having money and not needing to work was already a condition that many people dreamed of.
Thinking of a certain pitiful little thing still in the bedroom, Lin Qichi hurriedly finished his share and prepared to go to the new room he had chosen before he came up, to lay it out.
